This Anniversary Stream started promising but ended up being a bit disappointing...
TL;DR: most announcements from the Year 9 Anniversary Broadcast were either about skins or things we already knew of. There was very little new information regarding chapters or gameplay, and nothing on the anniversary event. That's way less than the previous anniversary streams.
I'll start by saying this was the shortest anniversary broadast in the history of DbD. Even including the countdown, it had only 73 minutes. This probably has to do with the time they had at PAX East, but what bothers me more than the time it lasted was how little actual new stuff was announced… except for skins.
Seriously, beside the skins, we alredy knew about most stuff talked about in the broadcast. We already knew about the FNAF Chapter, it was obvious the killer would be Springtrap, and I don't think many people expected a map other than the most iconic one for the franchise. At least we got a little preview of how the map is going to look, but we couldn't even see the killer model yet, nor the chapter cinematic, and barely any information about the power. Just for a comparison: the four previous anniversary skins revealed the killer (Nemesis, Dredge, Singularity and Vecna respectively), the survivors, the trailer with either the entire chapter cinematic or part of it, showed far more from the maps, had details about the gameplay, like how the killer's power was going to work , what the new perks did and what was special about the maps, and some of them also showed the in-game model for the new killer. This stream had none of that.
There were two other licensed chapters announced. Cool, but then we ended up learning nothing about one while only having clues about which license is the other, which is a survivor-only chapter after a killer-only chapter. On the year 7 anniversary broadcast, we had a preview of how Nick Cage was going to look in game, plus his voice acting in the same trailer (it ended up being revelaed earlier only to prevent it from being leaked). On the year 8 stream, we got a teaser for Castlevania, despite already learning about a chapter with both a killer and survivor on the same stream. This feels little in comparison.
"Make your own chapter" was by far the biggest news in the entire stream… but that also means that the only chapter we got some detailed info about was the one that wasn't even made yet.
Then, there's the QoL changes… but most of the stuff talked about were already announced before either way. Little stuff was actually relevant. Don't take me wrong, I liked learning about the "play while you wait" feature for 2v8, but these and other few stuff were the ONLY news about gameplay we got, on the stream that always brings the greatest news and announcement about the game every year.
And finally, no info whatsoever on the anniversary event… on an anniversary stream! So it means that, excluding the info about skins, what was shown in stream can be summed up as some stuff we already knew about the FNAF Chapter, 2 other licensed chapters with little to no information about them, the… theme of the next original chapter, I guess (all we know about the asian folklore chapter), a few QoL changes, most of them already announced before, and a chapter that will be created by the community as a whole, which I honestly think it was the only big thing. The other stuff wasn't bad, but again, very little in comparison to previous anniversary broadcasts.

I agree, the flop anniversary brodcast ever. Just a reveal a known chapter, known improvments ( zero details about how some of them will works in the future) nothing new, nothings itens, mechanincs, modifiers, literraly a brodcast to show us a bit of FNAF and some cosmetics. Dissappointed

I thought it was sick, they confirmed a new killer and map, basically told us that we’re getting the walking dead, they said we’re getting an Asian folklore killer(I love Asian folklore), we got Matthew lillard a horror icon in the game, we get a fun interactive build your own chapter(honestly that’s soo cool), they did teasers because we like teasers, Dwight was there, the cosmetics coming look awesome! I’m not a fan of the Witcher(outfits still look dope though)but I know a ton of people are so that’s really cool, the artist from dragula looks cool af, and we get to build our own chapter!!!! What’s not to be excited about?

Just watched the stream and I'm hyped but yeah it was a bit short teaser about fnaf.
It's nice to know that we are getting a new map.
Making your own chapter sounds really cool!

I don’t think it was anything wrong with it tbh. Just wish more RE content and Until Dawn one day

Apparently there's another stream in a couple of weeks. They'll give us a better look at the anniversary/FNAF chapter and undoubtedly a rundown of the event. They always tell us in advance how the event will be run and rewards etc so I can't see this time being any different.

I think there is a GIANT misconception here. This was a PAX East panel, not THE anniversary live stream. While it was certainly within the spirit of celebrating and showing off a little, they obviously didn't have as much time as they wanted to even properly get through everything. Think of it like a teaser.
They did say they were live streaming again before the chapter released, or at least the PTB. They'll have all the time wanted and needed to explain everything without restriction.

Ya I was super hyped but then nothing new really happened…. and then the frank stone chapter being scrapped for a skin kind of killed any joy I could of gotten out of this anniversary.

I was hoping to hear more myself such as other stuff including but not only to Anniversary Event Details during the Anniversary Stream. However, there was no news around this.
I presume this was because they said in a couple weeks they will be hosting another stream. I am sure community dork will fill us in more on that stream and perhaps thats one reason they wanted to save some content for where the other part of the team that wasn't there.
I imagine the time crunch too only allowed them so much time before they had to clear out and so it could get setup for the next game that was doing there thing too.

I guess if that wasn't supposed to be the actual anniversary stream then this all makes a lot more sense and is reasonable. I just felt like the marketing and everything for it was saying that this was the anniversary stream. I'm sure if that's the impression I got many others must have as well. A bit confusing.

It does feel weird to segment info like this. While I'm such a big fan of these two things that just seeing them together was enough to get me hyped, it does kinda sting to get all hyped for the big event almost a year in advance only for them to reveal the meat of the content is still a couple weeks out.
Kind of a meager complaint in the grand scheme of things, but it seems I'm not alone with this sentiment.

Well, if that was not THE anniversary live stream, then they shouldn't have called it "Year 9 Anniversary Broadcast" on youtube, and even given it the same kind of thumbnail they only give to anniversary streams, with the anniversary event art, the year number and all. It was pretty much announced like an anniversary stream like any other.

I guess because they did cover the 9th year roadmap and what we can expect to see. I think the next stream will be specific to the event.

PAX was super strict on time.
Their streams from back in the day in Montreal at HQ were so relaxed and fun.

This anniversary stream definitely had some really high highs and really low lows. I feel like I remember them saying a while back that they were going to go into detail about Part 2 of the QoL waves during the stream and then they just… didn't? Same with FNAF, they said they were going into detail about it and, although we got details, they know what we're expecting when they say stuff like that and they didn't do it. Like the cosmetic and the look of the map is great and all, but just telling us what we already figured which is that Springtrap is the killer and that's essentially the majority of the detail is pretty underwhelming. I know they said there's going to be another stream either later this month or early next month, but at that point why have the anniversary stream where you reveal nothing and are on a time crunch at PAX when you can do as much as you want as an anniversary stream slightly later? If the plan was always 2 streams.

Considering there was dedicated segment on FNAF Chapter, we got almost no info on FNAF chapter which was disappointing.

They realistically did not have the time to really show anything. The roadmap alone took up most of their time. At the beginning they mentioned being repeatedly signaled to move on at least 5 times. I honestly wished there was more transparency from them. Everyone already knew it was going to be Springtrap, so saying beforehand that they wern't going to reveal his power or perks would've set expectations lower.

I think PAX wasn't the right forum for this stream. I'd rather it be in their studio, where they can sit on a couch and take all the time they need to dole out info.

resident evil already has like twice as much content as literally any other license ever

Same here, it was just fnaf stuff we already knew and then kill all hype forever blast. I'm the biggest fnaf fan I know with springtrap my second favorite character in the whole series, and in an instant they made me not even excited for the chapter
