Devs are monitoring the quest system.
For those who haven’t seen this yet, I’ll leave it here.

Glad to see they are keeping an eye on it, but I feel like I'm making pretty good progress with the rift so far. Of course, I've not done the maths like others have, so I don't know if I'll be able to complete it.
But I think I'll still finish the rift with all the content without a crazy amount of grinding. It probably helps a lot that I play both sides of the game, though.

I’ll check tonight and get back to you to let you know where I am at in the rift.
I’ve been working hard on it.0 -
IMO the numbers are fine. From what I have seen, my progress on the Rift is pretty good.
However, my main point with the Quest-System is that it is really, really boring and does not feel rewarding. The challenges so far are just "play the game". I think some of the older Tome-Challenges were a bit too much "Throw the game", especially on Survivor. Killer was mostly "play the game", but there you also had challenges which spiced up the gameplay.
And of course having to play certain characters or using Perks you would usually not use made it interesting. With the current Quest-System there is 0 reason for me to play any Survivor besides the one I am playing anyway and 0 reason to play any Killer aside from the one I want to play. And it makes it honestly a bit boring.
Plus, a big turnoff for me is that you cannot claim the Rift-Progression yourself anymore. It being automatic feels it less exciting. Before I would claim the Rift Tiers and be like "Oh, the new Jake-Head, neat.". Now I just get it and sometimes I dont even realize what exactly I have gotten.

Yeah I feel you. Wait….does that mean Glyphs are gone now? :(
Those are my favorite

I would like to see character specific quests return. Maybe they could have a character related daily in addition to the other three dailies that you can re-roll one time (if you get a character you really don't want to play). It doesn't have to be anything special. Just something like "use power x amount of times" or "be chased for x amount of seconds as such and such". I think it was good for variety.
I don't know about other players, but I used to do the odd daily for the BP. Since they changed it, I've mostly stuck to playing my mains.

Hopefully they lower the numbers of required kills and escapes for the milestone quests. Both have pretty high requirements, which means they're very time consuming.

"Increasing" the reward gain is not gonna fix all the other problems. This whole new quest ecosystem is just incredibly bland.

Right now i also made good progress but all challenges are still up for points.
I just finished the first milestone with kick 225 gens.
The healing, repairing come natural but killing and escaping are a lot harder.
I wonder when the milestones are finished how the progress would then be because the progress from playing is more than halfed.
2v8 could boost the escapes and i hope we still get extra rift bonus events like before sometimes.
Have to wait and see. But it feels a bit it could get hard if you miss the dailys. Which is bad imo. You should be able to finish it without any daily.

what I hate is after getting a challenge down look like I got no bloodpoints at all been look after the match and collecting looks like my BP don't go up.
1 -
You already get the BP from finished quests during the match endscreen.
And the pop ups only after you are back in the lobby. Thats why it looks a bit strange.

I would like to see them make the BP and Fragment gain a little higher for sure, and also alter some of the quests. Escapes and Kills are not fun milestones, I'd rather see Milestones based around interactions instead like hooking or cleansing totems. I'd also much rather have some of the later weekly challenges include things like glyphs, memory shards, and playing as specific characters again, I also really miss the Remix challenges.

Did you guys ever had a teammate to throw the match for a challenge?
I remember a yun-jin doing all the totems and 2 chest in a game.
We basically played the game 3v1. We still finished 4 gens before everyone died. All we needed for a 4-man escape was the yunjin do one gen. Just one.
I definitely want the quest's to be that easy to do. With increasing the rewards.

well I hate that I want that old system back.

Hooks is a good idea, please don't let them make cleansing totems a milestone. If they make cleansing a milestone survivors will never win another match.

How about a daily then?
What WOULD be a better replacement milestone for Survivors besides escapes?0 -
Can we talk about how they decided to move the in-match player list over to the right just so they could put the quest system in its place instead? Plus we had the rarity color change & rift tracks reversed in the same patch too.
I dunno who they hired to do all that to the UI but clearly that person gives 0 shits and pays no mind to veteran players. Might as well just get that one Hulu UI guy to do their stuff like Epic did with Fortnite.

Completing quests does not feel rewarding. It's not only about BP or Fragments (though they are low): the quests are boring, they auto-accept, they give no sense of working towards a goal.
The Quest system has no longevity. What I mean is, it has no purpose outside of the Rift. It's gone when the Rift ends. It has the annoying (and currently broken?) "finish # weeklies" challenges that reward badges/banners, which require a lot more work from players and people are forced to do it on the game's time, as far as has been stated there will be no Compendium entry to earn those later. Earning charms in the Tome was much, much better. Choosing paths, having themes, being able to bank rewards and play on my own timetable, I value those elements.
I thought I would value completing multiple challenges in a single match, but really all it does is minimize any feeling of accomplishment or importance. I never wanted a complete rework of the system. If I were interested in playing DbD Mobile, I would've played DbD Mobile. I'm not, I didn't.
I like the Tomes as their own thing, outside the Rift. They were the closest thing this game had to a story mode. If I'm bored I can pick some weird killer challenge from 50 moons ago and give myself a fresh, reward-earning goal. The Tomes were not just a way to earn Rift Fragments or BP, that was part of their purpose but they had their own identity within the game.
It's unlikely there will be any new glyph challenges. The Compendium is going to be removed at some point, so my Pustula Plant will go. This update just makes me sad. The Tomes and events have been my reasons for playing. The Tomes have kept me amused when I otherwise had no reason to turn the game on. And the Quest system veers away from everything that made me want to play.

The more I think about this, the more I don't like the quest system being limited. When Rifts end, could we have a list of these quests being completable in the quest list even if we don't finish, so we don't have FOMO again? Can these quests just… remain in the list forever as "old quests" or something?
1 -
Keep tomes
3 -
Safe unhook maybe
1 -
Actually that's perfect. :)
@Twiggsy why don't they put the old quests IN tomes as a list of possible ones? So, new tomes but just a list of passive quests for the BP and Shards or any unlockables?0 -
I truly don't think increasing the frags is necessary. I e played maybe 25 games since the new system was introduced and am around 22-23 on the pass. This is excluding the new weekly missions, as I haven't finished those yet.

Hopefully by June they will have some updates on the quest system for us. That’ll be awesome 👏
