Xeno's changes didn't move Xeno pickrate (community stats)
Seems like the changes did nothing for Xeno playerbase to increase.
Top 6 bottom pick.

I think it's a mistake to assume every buff must necessarily have the goal of increasing pickrate, personally.
It'd be just as worthwhile to make the killer/perk/what have you work better for those who already enjoy it.

It's just not fun constantly being stunned out of your power over and over again

Agree. That‘s why I don‘t play him and I don‘t like playing turret breaking simulator.

I feel using Nightlight is really unhealthy for these kinds of assumptions, we don't know consoles pick rates for example. We best wait for official stats when we eventually get some.

I don't like the turrets and I don't like the tail being finicky. Makes me sad, I wanted to like Xeno. :(

Truth is most of his changes were buffs, but actualy he is harder to play than before. Tail wind up is bigger which makes much harder to hit some close distance vault and his tail is much more easier to doge. Overall he is better than before in my opinion.

People avoid this killer because the tail is extremely punishing if you miss, they made it harder to use, and dealing with turrets constantly is annoying, they did nothing to change this, Xeno just isn’t enjoyable to play as, instead of alleviating the annoyances for the Xeno player, they just made Xeno less anointing to play against, nothing changed.

To play “against” sure it’s more enjoyable, to “play as” it’s worse.

Why would anyone want to play a killer that has a mediocre M2 power that the survivors can take away? That just sounds like VHS bully simulator, and we all know what happened to VHS.

This Xenomorph Build Is Hilariously Broken
Weird how this comes out when this post does.2 -
I mean is a noobstomper build, the second you understand whats going on you just put a turret and prerun when it beeps, pre drop and lets your teamates do the gens. However out of soloQ I would be surprised if even 5% of pub players can even do that. Its very doable tho.

I'd be surprised if half of players even knew they got changed despite patch notes appearing on updates now

These stats are in the last 30 days. I dont know if they have had enough time to fully reflect, I dont think they will change much. I hate playing against Alien personally. I find it very boring in my humble opinion.

never played xeno even though i own him the recent changes made me stay away even more

I stopped playing xeno after tail hits consistently never did damage. Even hitting people vaulting, it just clips through them and nothing. An m2 attack that effectively rolls the die to see if it hits or not just isn't reliable enough to warrant playing the character. Wether it's a bug or not, it remains unfixed, and in turn, less people play the character. The tail just isnt reliable.

I enjoy playing Xeno. The latest changes only increased my enjoyment. Good amount of Chase/Info/Map mobility in his kit and you no longer need to run the Emergency Helmet.
Plus the harpoon addon actually makes hexes pretty strong on this killer. Very solid kit if you put the effort of learning him.
The problem with Xeno is that he takes a bit of skill and game sense to play well. Hard killers are usually unpopular unless they are overtuned/overpowered.

Console players can submit games to Knightlight. I've been submitting games using screenshots. Though most people don't bother with it since its alot of time wasted

These changes weren't going to increase his usage rate. He's also messed up at the moment, his tail attack currently fails to connect on 0 degree in range attacks, among other issues since the last patch and I can't be bothered to either figure out why, or research it.
The update they did to him made him more annoying to play, if they were buffs, they suck. Please take them back and in exchange I'll happily take a promise that the developers never touch this killer again.

Theses changes were aimed toward actual Xenomorph players and from what i've seen online, it was a success.
The changes were nice QoL, the tail strike delay, you get used to after two trials and everything else is net buffs. Sad that the faster tunnel exit did not go trought, it actually justified how strong the Motion Tracker was and made the kit more coherent overall.
With that said, i don't think any changes would make this killer a popular pick and it's fine.
Xenomorph has it's dedicated playerbase just like any other killer, the design is faithful and great to the source material, and that is objective, the Xenomorph's kit is an almost 1 to 1 to the Xenomorph in Alien Isolation, you can't say with a straight face that this killer is unfaithful, you can call it "boring", "safe" or any other words, but it is objectively a coherent design for a Xenomorph in the limitations of Dead by Daylight.
There are people out there who loves this killer, no matter how few. Not every killers needs to be Wesker/Kaneki/Blight (which are three dash killers with a lot of similarities, people clearly have a type, Chucky's history is also a good indicator of this).
Demogorgon is right next to Xenomorph in pickrate on Nightlight, despite being a very popular character in the community, truth is, people want killers like Kaneki, with low skillfloor, insane mobility and immense power.
Xenomorph is complicated, not insanely strong, requires a good mastery of the game and more specifically, the character itself with the infamous flame turrets and the macro heavy oriented power.
When i hear people say "Not fun to lose your power all game", there is a major problem. People do not take the time to learn and wants immediate, no efforts, results.
Losing your power as Xenomorph does not happen nearly that often, it's pretty rare even, you straight up should never lose it against a solo turret and you can in some case outplay double turrets (if they are too close to each other, you can destroy both of them with a single tail strike for exemple).
Double turrets takes time to set up, if you encounter double turrets in every chase you take, there is a pressure problem on your part and the survivors are probably cracked. Double turrets will happen, especially against good survivors, but with the tunnels recharging your power in like 10s total with the travel time, you should be able to outpressure.
Reworking it to please people that will never be pleased either way would be a major mistake, just like with Freddy, Sadako or Skull merchant. Let the Xenomorph fans have their killer, there is 35+ other out there for everyone to enjoy.
It would be a shame to get Sadako'ed to get +0.25 pickrate at the end.

Good.

They won't move the stats.
People hate the turrets. But the turrets are a necessary evil, because the tail is one of the strongest chase powers in the game in the hands of Xenomorphs who are good with it.
The only way to increase Xeno's pickrate is to remove the turrets, but then you'd need to nerf the tail. And the tail is already kind of clunky and takes practice to get good with.

Hes my p100 mainest main (besides dracula) and even i rarely play him because his mmr is through the roof from overplaying him. (It doesnt seem to go down). I always get swat teams and ttv squads now as xeno which means multi turret safezones and absolute sweatfests all day (until that 1 poor solo que random group shows up and gets obliterated). So i just rotate all the killers regularly since i think reaching a certain mmr on one killer pushes all the others to a new minimum zone, but its not often as hard.
The other thing is sure he got slightly buffed in tail cooldown and can take (a bit) more fire before being kicked out of power, but the nerf to his tail strike timing has certainly led to an increase in missed attacks, which makes it feel somewhat clunky.
So my primary reason for not playing him much isnt that i don't enjoy him, im not that worried about losing the power from turrets either, its just his mmr is in a much higher difficulty area which makes it more stressfull than most of the killers on the roster. (And sometimes you feel like you are more pressured to win when u know they are going to see they beat a p100 lol)
