Is oni too powerful in 2v8?
Oni has insane map pressure from being in power constantly meaning it feels impossible to avoid him. His flick ability has also been buffed and he can do impossible turns when slamming down his power making it even harder than it already was to avoid him. This also encourages slugging to try and get the most out of his blood fury leading a lot of boring gameplay being left on the floor as survivor.

Yes, because he got insane buffs (and legion, but honestly, legion is an issue in and of themselves).
Oni really didn't need any buffs at all, but since the devs decided that both nurse and blight also needed buffs for 2v8 I am not surprised.

So far, I don't think so. Survivors have anti-slug and blood orbs are not that frequent when medics can heal survivors so fast. I haven't played Oni with Legion yet though.

Definitely. Especially when he's paired with mending simulator.

Yes, it is absolutely ridiculous.
It seems killers have caught on to this as every match now is Oni, often combined with Legion since they get injures for free.
Most matches Oni is in power pretty much permanently

I would say so, I really did not think Oni will ever get to 2v8.
If so I would expect him to not down a survivor in 1 hit, but need to double tap at least… yet alone get buffed instead2 -
Oni is the only 2v8 killer I would say is actually OP. Legion is awful for the game mode but he isn't OP. Oni just completely takes over the game if the person playing him isn't incompetent.

Legion is awful (for survivors) but for killers he is necessary to have any slowdown to fast gen speeds outside of tunneling or slugging (which doesn't work as well with 8 survs). Even with buffs, the Onis i've seen have struggled to keep up enough pressure to secure a 7-8k. I don't necessarily see either as bad or OP.

Oni needs some changes, and Legion should be removed from 2v8 entirely. If those changes happen, I might play more 2v8, but until then, I'm not touching it again.

100% yes

Bringing Oni into the 2v8 mode was a terrible idea. He makes 2v8 really unfun as a survi.

I wouldn't say OP .. We still survive a lot of our Matches - by "we" I mean solo squads. But it's so ridiculously obnoxious and tedious to go against him.. Especially if combined with Legion..
I keep enjoying the BP gain of this event tho .. And pray to the gaming heavens that Plague and Twins won't be the next addition.

Medic gang rise up

Oni and Legion really need some tweaks and they should never be able to be paired together, the combination is just too broken.

I don't think Oni on his own is necessarily a worse experience to face than Billy - which is a pretty bad experience, mind, but you could play around it unless the killer in question were particularly skilled at handling them, and most of them aren't. But the Legion + Oni combo just completely sucks out the joy I used to have in 2v8.
I think they may need to consider combos moving forward, and buff certain underperforming pairs or nerf ones with too much synergy. Otherwise certain killers like Twins and Plague are just going to make everything worse when they're eventually added.

Legion directly counters medic and renders it almost useless, as your work is undone with zero skill or effort and you cant keep up with the free injures Legion gets back to back. Combined with Oni, it is an absolute nightmare.
I am just getting Oni back to back, usually with Legion

People forget this so much. I lot of Oni's strength comes from his ability to slug, but it's not that uncommon from my experience that you down someone, go after someone else, get them down, but medics were on top of it and the person you downed first is already up within the 5-10 seconds it takes to down the second person. Outside of certain combos and comms, he's actually really bad in 2v8 in my experiences. I think that's why Legion/Oni feel so powerful together, it's the only way to play that has medics scrambling, they can't heal fast enough against that combo.

In the games I've played thus far, the Oni is usually in their power about 90% of the game. So yeah, he needs some nerfs.

people forget that once oni TR is on you they can just jump in a locker to force a grab and deny slugs, kinda the same with instakill myers

Nice to see someone agree with me lol, 20 down votes is insane

Extremely OP… Got Trapper, Nemesis, and Ghost Face starving for attention while Nurse, Blight, and Oni are overstuffed..

yes, he makes survivor even less playable if that was even possible. I think BHVR is trying to see bad they can make the queue times by seeing bad to make the survivor role.

IMO this cannot be said enough. Some Killers are really weak in 2v8 and those are also on the weaker side in 1v4. Yet the best or at least very good Killers in 1v4 get Buffs in 2v8. I dont really understand BHVRs thinking here.

I'll chop it up to things working differently in other parts of the world. Mentalities included.

It's like hillbilly on constant overdrive and no turn rate limit. So yes

We can at least agree that maybe they just don't give a damn.

No. It's 2v8. It's a party game mode. Survivors have some extremely busted stuff as well, let's not whine our way into overbalancing this too.

I think he's fine. Only time I get destroyed by an Oni is when I make a misplay or get caught in the open, I can hardly blame the Oni player.
Plus, I have been enjoying what they can do with the extra turn speed. A good Oni on RPD is a force to be reckoned with and I am here for it.-3 -
I would be fine if they made it even easier for him to gain his power, but made it so he can't insta down survivors like I think Billy had at first 2v8.
Right now, I think he is really broken if you know how to play Oni at lest decent level. I had escaped against Oni several times, but I have no idea how it happened.
When I played I usually get like 6-8 downs per use of my power, then you just need another killer to clean behind you. I personally prefer Wraith over Legion with me…2 -
I concur. The only people defending it are using it.

Yes. I don't necessarily understand why they buff up killer powers that are ALREADY better by the nature of the 2v8 gamemode. Twice as many survivors and another killer creating injuries SHOULD BE the buff to Oni's power. Giving him tons of speed and turn rate basekit as well as removing any sort of downside or limit on his power (such as the power gauge decreasing when he downs a survivor) just makes him a complete beast, even without considering the fact that there'll be twice as much blood spawning at any given time and twice as many survivors to hit to fill your power.

Yeah, its funny that Oni gets more and better Buffs than Ghostface.
Oni —> Already buffed because more Survivors and more people who can injure Survivors (especially Legion), but gets more strong buffs.
Ghostface —> Probably weaker in 2v8 because more people can break him out of Stealth, yet the Buffs he received are less impactful or useful than Onis.

Oni himself is strong but with legion he becomes OP
One killer punishes you for healing other for not healing.
Also the buffs he recived few updats ago remove like 90% of counterplay
