Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Are devs even listening to survivor feedback? (2v8 rant)

This is a little bit of a rant post, but all of this comes from the perspective of a solo queue player. I love 2v8, it's such a nice casual/chaotic break from how sweaty 1v4 can be. I played a lot of every other iteration, but might just skip this one.. it feels boring and bland for survivor, while queues for killer is atrocious.

We're at our.. fourth? iteration of 2v8 and killer queues are still atrocious and I can understand why. Survivor has recieved next nothing ever since the second iteration with ultimates. I know RE had herbs and this iteration has smoke bombs, but they're just cheap gimmicks and not really that interesting. Meanwhile killers get 2-3 new toys to play with each iteration. This makes survivor feel too bland to play, especially since there haven't been any new survivors classes since first iteration.

Furthermore, last iteration people complained and complained about Legion and how strong of a support they are. This current iteration I see Legion every second or third game, because why wouldn't there be a Legion? They can injure many survivors at once, making them easy fodder for the more chase oriented killer, who can down fast, like Nurse, Spirit or Blight. People were asking for nerfs, asking to have them removed from 2v8, but the devs are apparently fine with them.

And now they are even more of a problem, now that Oni has been added. First of all, Oni was overtuned and is just a slug machine now, but combine him with Legion, he can basically have infinite power. I really had hoped the devs were smarter than to let Legion and Oni exist in the same game mode. I really wouldn't have had any issues with Oni, if Legion weren't there. I always figured that Legion and Plague would just not fit into 2v8 due to their 'easy injuries' abilities.

Also what happened to the incentives? I thought you did some testing last time, what would attract survivors. 400% bloodpoints and extra xp helped queue times by a couple of minutes, but now I play with only 300%? I've seen it spike to 400% a couple of times, but very rarely.

To sum it up, because I know it's a wall of text

tl;dr
Survivors need more classes to keep things interesting, don't just give killers new toys (especially when there's a lack of survivor players)

Legion is still an issue, unless you are like 6+ SWF and can coordinate body blocks

Oni is overtuned with buffs and incredibly strong combined with Legion

Buff incentives again

These ideas will definitely not fix queue times, but might help a bit. I love 2v8 and really want to see it succeed, so I really hope the devs start focusing on making the survivor experience better and more interesting for the next iteration.

I mean they ain't really new toys just old toys brought back and people's personal killers put in a few licensed killer might not ever get in and I mean we get a buddy to play with that's all we ever wanted.

Survivor got fog crystals and previous to that got ults for there classes but I do think survivor needs a boon class already

For all future 2v8s I hope they bring back both the green and yellow herbs (why remove them? That's just a big no-no), allow all players to use all bloodpoint offerings, allow survivors to bring all their items (no add-ons) into the 2v8 trial (yes, 8 toolboxes would be nuts, so increase the gens survivors have to repair to 10), iridescent shard bonus, (bloodpoints are useless to me, I have 9 million BP just sitting there). And add more survivor classes (a boon/totem class, a chest class, and a distraction/trap class)

No. They are quick to listen to killer feedback though.

I will 100% hop locker against a Legion in power to force the grab when its a Legion/Oni combo. I wont even play that. I dont know what they were thinking if they were even thinking at all. Seriously, it is so miserable to play against. Legion alone was bad last iteration but now you add in oni and now we have mending simulator with a side of slugma.

The first iteration of 2v8 was boring and repetitive, the second was by far the best one, third was riddled with bugs and Legion so it was miserable and this one is by far the worst.

I believe the Wesker bug from 2v8 is still in the game as well. In fact, the new animations made it even easier to break Wesker.

Given how they implemented legion practically unchanged and are seemingly happy with that, I'd say no.

I hope behavior in general (also in 1vs4) adds more stuff for survivors. Survivors only get some perk changes, which most of the time don‘t make the changed perks any more appealing. Killers on the other hand get completely new powers to play with at least every second chapter. I can‘t remember when survivors got a new item or any positive change to their items (except of the sabo buffs, which was very long ago). They need to make some cool changes for survivor items as frequent as for killer powers and we definitely don‘t need to nerf any survivor item.

Many survivors manage to escape in this game mode, so they must consider that they are having a great time. "Win = Fun", is all they understand and the direction they have taken since the second iteration.
