I don't get it

So I need to kill 25 survivors it's 2v8 so easy enough to do but then just notice yeah not a single 2v8 kill goes towards it. It's only kills that do this nothing else. "Oh well 2v8 makes it just way to easy to do." There are a lot of milestones and challenges that can be done in 2v8 that make it easy. Hooking survivors basically nearly done and I was at 2 out of 10 now I'm at 7 out of 10 yeah no that seems way to hard to do. So I don't get why kills in 2v8 don't go towards the challenge but everything else does.
