Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Cry Of Fear in dbd?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to open a discussion about the idea of Cry of Fear being added to Dead by Daylight—not necessarily as a confirmed chapter or anything, just a "what if?" to see how the community feels about it.

For those who aren't familiar, Cry of Fear is a psychological horror game originally released as a Half-Life mod. It has a cult following thanks to its eerie atmosphere, disturbing monster designs, and deep dive into mental health and trauma. The game features a lot of surreal and symbolic horror rather than traditional jump scares or gore—though it definitely has those too.

Personally, I think the tone of Cry of Fear could fit DBD really well. It’s gritty, bleak, and deals with the horrors of the mind, which lines up with the Entity's whole thing about despair and hopelessness. The visual style might need some adjustments to fit into DBD’s engine and aesthetic, but imagine navigating the Fog while the creepy ambient noises and surreal enemies from Cry of Fear mess with your head. It could bring a different kind of fear than the more physical killers we already have.

We agree, we think it would fit rather well as a survivor or killer chapter.

Yes please. I don't know who'd be the killer, if any, but the main character is definitely survivor material. A lot of good places for map potential, too.
