Steam/Xbox + PTB
Since Microsoft is on the rise with making the Xbox console now compatible with the Steam app, I've been heavily wondering if that implication means that Xbox console players will now be able to participate in the PTB.
While Playstation will be left out of this deal, I really hope this does not influence whether or not the PTB can now come to Xbox which will massively increase the amount players the Devs can gather data from, plus weed out more console specific bugs far sooner than later.

why not get a pc if you want to play the ptb that bad? you do realize that if something is on steam it can be updated way faster than something on console right?

I was going to say that

I really don't care for the whole just get a pc spiel. Most other people don't either. Steam is updated faster, and will at some point be on Xbox which is why I made this post to speculate if that meant Xbox consoles could participate in the PTB.

I wonder how things might work if someday Microsoft buys Valve and Steam is along side Xbox...
I also don't see why having more participants in the PTB is bad, to test things out & find more issues before anything comes to the live version. Something like 70% of the players are not part of it, and end up weeks behind learning new stuff. Windows and Epic included.

"spend 1500 USD on new PC to play a 9 year old games PTB"
Not the wisest financial decision for most folks, I'm sure.

its the timeframe and money that's an issue i think it takes like 3 months for things to get approved through console and that's every change idk if they have to fork over cash every time either (but it wouldn't surprise me) for a 2 week ptb that may need additional changes
in short it's a gigantic waste of time for bhvr

Here's an actual PC to be equivalent to a Series X. (I thought the point of PC is to be better than Consoles but whatever)
Series X currently goes for 300 dollars less than a PC equivalent.
I got my PC at a bargain price, but I am also in a very fortunate situation where I could afford to spend that kind of money. Many people cannot do that, therefore, the Series S and Series X being cheap is nice.
You could stop shaming people for playing games on their system. Thought we left that sort of childish behavior back in 2010.

I'll never get the PC master race stuff people love to pull. It gets tiring that a genuine question and conversation circles into "get a PC."

Yah it's confusing why they feel the compulsion

It wouldn't because just like Sony, Microsoft checks everything is legit and safe before it becomes available through their service; (which in this case is the Xbox App) and that includes patches. Y'all know how easy it is to just upload a game on Steam that contains some kind of malware or virus…
