I feel we are overestimating how many new players FNAF will bring for the long run.
The devs have been too busy focusing on the survivor experience that the killer experience is going to make new players quit.
The bloodweb is grindy.
After a few matches killers will face toxic playstyles from players emulating their favorite content creators who smurf for content.
There are no good beginner friendly regression or gen perks.
The DBD community is toxic.
Good perks are locked behind paywalls.
Many long-term players are video game addicts who refuse to quit because of money spent, the game isnt fun and the game isnt what non DBD players see on tiktoks and stuff.
Everybody thought the resident evil chapters would bring a huge wave of players, that didn't happen.

I feel like the game health rn is more important than new players, if they want new players they should be focusing on the existing killers, but I believe that's the plan this year (Hopefully)

I mean killer have frustrations to deal with, but it's really not like the devs have only catered to survivors the last years. And survivors have frustrations to deal with as well, especially camping and tunneling. Honestly it's just to be expected that some players will only play for a short while and then stop playing, but I fear it will be worse on the survivor side than the killer side.

I genuinelly feel camping and tunneling seems like an issue because people watch videos from content creators "effortlessly" running killers for multiple gen, and when players attempt themselves they cannot. There have been many anti tunneling buffs including absurd ones like to babysitter and the haste after hit.
Also, the playerbase throws around camping too much. Majority of camping and tunneling complaints arent true complaints-5 -
The new player experience in general is kind of an impossible issue to tackle at this point. There is WAY too many perks, addons and killer abilities in the game to expect new players to know the nuances of. They get smacked with effects they didn't know existed that they were expected to counter.
That's why I really hope BHVR gets a second gamemode that is permanent. Stuff like 2v8 that cut out the perks and addons are just easier to pickup and learn. If they had a permanent second mode that utilized a class system like 2v8 is doing, I feel like it would be way more newbie friendly.

I sincerely hope that Pinhead's perks will become base alongside the FNAF release.
Gift of Pain and Deadlock are both decent slowdown perks that don't require a lot of work to activate. And Plaything is also a nice way to slow down the game a bit with every survivor getting a Hex.

Considering they're removing him, it's probably gonna be like what happened to Demo's perks in the period he wasn't available.

No people complain about camping and tunneling because they are insanely unfun to go against. It's that simple. It has nothing to do with doing well in chase or not.

Tbh your whole post reads like you personally don’t like DbD or are currently just burnt out and need a break
Yes, the Game has many aspects that can feel frustrating and plenty of them are caused by toxicity - but it’s not only one side thats suffering here. And the devs improving one side doesnt mean they are biased, there is constantly coming buffs, nerfs, changes, additions to both sides; and the playerbase cant even be directly divided by these two sides as many do play both sides to some extent.

Lmao what? FNAF is not as popular as people are trying to make it seem, but I am genuinely curious how you got to the conclusion that BHVR has been focusing too much on the survivor experience.
They completely gutted map offerings which is something that killers have been crying about 24/7. They nerfed two strongest survivor realms with Eyrie and Badham. Survivors now all spawn together which is a MASSIVE nerf to survivors. You can now finish any match with a mori that removes any counterplay for survivors in plenty niche situations. Already decent killer perks are getting buffed. Killers who didn't need any buffs are getting them. A new top tier killer got released. Survivors can't go next in unplayable matches and can't give up to give their teammate a chance at the hatch.
And what did survivors get in return for all these changes? The abandon feature lmao.

If you say so. You mentioned my whole post reads of burnout and i dont like DBD but it's entirely true. DBD is not new player friendly.

Abandon, regression limits, face camp timer, increased haste boosts aftrer hits. You mention already decent killer perks getting buffed but survivors get that too(babysitter). I did not want to talk perk balance because both sides get nerfs and buffs.
The only thing i mentioned about perks was beginner friendly perks are nonexistant, especially free players. New"top tier killer" is now gutted. Despite map changes many maps are still unfriendly to majority of killers in the game as well(M1 Killers)-3 -
yeah I do agree that it’s not newcomer friendly.
but you also directly state that the game isnt fun..
So i can give you your ‚if you say so‘ right back..2 -
The game is nearly a decade old. Most people who enjoy scary games - including FNAF fans - have likely already been exposed to DBD in some capacity. So even if they only gain and maintain a small percentage of new players, that's at least something for an older game.

Think its overestimated for the short run as well.

Not a single one of those was a part of the QoL changes LMAO. Do you also want me to start bringing up all the buffs that the killers have gotten outside of the QoL changes? We'll be hear for another decade till I list them all. At least you proved my point that the only QoL buff that survivors have gotten is the ability to not get held hostage in matches that they''ve already lost. Mind you, those survivor perks will never become meta cause no matter what you do with perks like Poised it's never gonna change the fact that survivors need anti-tunnel and anti-slug perks in order for the game to even be playable. Killers sre getting buffs for perks that will again be meta for all the killer like CoB or for specific killers like Predator, Zanshin Tactics, Knock Out, Superior Anatomy etc

You're getting one of the biggest survivor nerfs possible by having them all spawn together, and you complain that survivors not being held hostage for four minutes is too much quality of life.

You might be right. Im hoping the devs surprise us and start showing killers more love. Yea all killer gen regression perks are pretty much gutted only provide little value. So new killer players hoping for a good new experience will get stomped before they even know whats going on.

Like i said, both sides gets nerfed and buffs, i was not trying to bring this up to start any us vs them mentalities.

Are you on a killer losing streak?

The game needs better matchmaking that puts new players against new players rather than sticking them in a meat grinder. I go against new killers who get absolutely miserably stomped. I get new survivor teammates who don't have a clue. It's awful for me and it's awful for them.
The game needs better tutorials that help players learn perks and powers. The tutorials should reward a nice chunk of BP to help new players on their way to unlocking more toys to play with. As is, new players have horrible early matches where they don't understand what's going on and they don't earn much BP, so they don't get to unlock new stuff that would help them or at least make matches more fun. The new player experience is negative on top of negative.
It needs these things before a new licensed chapter releases, not after. After is too late.
