How frequent are Voicelines, specifically Alan Wake's?

So, I currently have the Choice between Ripley (Cuz I love Alien) or Alan Wake (For the Voice Lines). Now, I know that he has a lot of voiceliens, but my question is, do they happen EVERYTIME he does the corresponding action or not? If not, then how frequent?

    No, they don't happen all the time and I cannot tell you what the reason is but I do find Alan Wakes voicelines trigger more often than Ripley
