Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I honestly wish the mori was more subtle and perhaps even obscured. Rather than a bare endo (shreddy), I thought it would've been cool if it was instead the other Springlock suit, Golden Freddy.

Afton could shove them in, mockingly smack on the mask, and watch as they combust internally, before slumping dead to the floor and either staying to twitch and unnerve fellow survivors, or being shrouded by fog and later despawning.

I don't really like how exaggerated the concept is in game. The movie did it as well where the endos are built to look like death machines, when before it was framed as a brutal machinery malfunction where metal parts pincushion the person from all sides, forcing a metal skeleton where your regular one was. I think the above image and in game Mori kinda suffer from trying too hard to be cool and messing with a simple execution.

There is a massive difference between horror and detailed gore. Many classic horror films had minimal visceral depictions (relying often on a combination of clever camera work and campy practical effects) despite being generally about topics like serial murderers or even occult concepts like demons across various cultures. Less can be more, especially when having to contend with ratings systems like multiple forms of media have had (and continue to) be subjected to in various regions. The camp factor actually saved multiple horror movies from even being allowed to be made, wanna say even one of the Friday the 13th movies was toned down and basically rewritten.

Horror doesn't need to be gratuitous, its meant to play on concepts like fear and terror more than shocking visuals. There's a fine line between what horror is supposed to be and what it looks like on the surface. Thats why people remember franchises like Nightmare on Elm Street more than, say, Hostel.

Sony would be a big hurdle. Microsoft and steam already cater to dismemberment with the gears of war games. Also, as mentioned before, other countries would raise qualms as well.

This would fit Springtrap's mori, I agree, but I think there are restrictions regarding dismemberment in video-games.

Two things could be the reason:

    1. Scott Cawthon didn't want it to be like that
    2. So it can be sold in certain countries

Iirc it's because the game would get banned in some countries due to dismemberment, that's why Demogorgon doesn't rip out the heads from Survivors during his mori. I'm not sure if this still applies today because there are some gruesome mories like Singularity's mori aftermath, who knows tho

I've said this for years. If Leatherface can run hit chainsaw all the way though a survivor in a mori, there should be a large split in the torso

My god. I think we can leave that imagery to the imagination. The mori gets the point acrost just fine.

DBD is meant to be a horror game I’m for this! More gore and actual horror in DBD moris are needed for sure.

Cleary never heard of Mortal Kombat xd

^ this. And I dont understand the Downvotes. There is a huge difference between Horror and Gore. There are Horror Movies out there which show not much violence. And then there are pointless Gore-Movies which are just to shock people.

Like, I like Horror. But I dont like Gore. Even if I watch a few Horrormovies or play a Horrorgame, I dont need to see some human splattered across my screen.

    @Topic:

The biggest reason is most likely because it would make the game harder to sell in certain countries and possibly would get it restricted.

    A) Horror isnt equal to gore pron like saw. (Even if that franchise is in this game, for nothing but the popularity)

    B) The 3d polygon models just aren't detailed enough and making it so that limbs can be torn off or torsos be split simply isn't worth it for bhvr.

If anything, Mortal Kombat just proves that having gore does not equal horror. Mortal Kombat is defined by its over-the-top gore, and is arguably the main draw of the franchise. MK is far from a horror title, though.

My exact complaint from the 2019.

The mori is kind of tame, all things considered. Other Killers have much more brutal and/or disturbing mori animations.

Yeah, I found the mori a bit disappointing, was hoping for it to be suit stuffing or maybe a springlock failure? Maybe they'll make a part of a different cosmetic, but the current one just doesn't seem that good. I don't super enjoy the roars either, I don't think they're bad, but was hoping it would be slightly more robotic. There's just a bunch of small things I wish they would tweak.

Gruesome isnt dismemberment. In fact, the only dismemberment in the game is Clown's mori chopping off a pinky finger, for some reason thats fine.

BHVR proceeds by making the last chapter this year Sub Zero/Scorpion/Reptile as the killer and Liu Kang and Raiden as survivor.

Why robotic tho? This is literally a human trapped in a suit. William Afton isnt a robot, he is just a beef jerky human

Yeah, I know, but his original scream is more robotic than his current one. If we're going with that logic, why add mechanical sounds to his chase music? The answer is that it just sounds a bit better for the character.

I mean, fair, but the original in fnaf 3 was also a down pitched version of existing screams.

I know, but compared to the DBD one, the FNaF 3 feels more robotic? I'm not sure how to explain it. I guess it's better to say that I was expecting a screech instead of the roar we got?
