Security systems sound unrewarding for survivors
I make this post not to intentionally start a war. I appreciate the effort from BHVR for making this chapter like the mechanics of springtrap, the map (although personally i expect a large indoor map like Fazbear's Fright from FNAF 3, which suits more for springtrap, instead a small pizzeria from withered isle, which is my own PERSONAL thought), and their effort to bring the security system of the original game into DBD.
However, I found it very unrewarding for survivors to use the system:
1. Survivors need to bear the risk of getting grabbed when going through doors. Of course the mobility of survivor is nice but i won’t risk it if i can potentially give the killer a free hook.
2. The aura reveal ability is situational and not mandatory to use in order to deal with the killer. It feels like other perks help better for the survivor who is in chase.
3. Survivors cannot restrict killer from entering the door they are using the cam, it is like a free hit if killer somehow decides to pass through your door
i personally think it is indeed a big pity that BHVR put some much focuses on this important system to the game yet survivor is not rewarded enough, even get punished when they use it. They can choose completely ignore the camera system and still will not effect the game experience, considering it is not the case for using killer item of other killer in this game like turret for xemo and emp for hux.
I think BHVR could introduce some rewards for players who actively use it, or punishing effect if not using it frequently. I know it might be like a rework but like door shutting system from FNAF 1 could be nice. It rewards players who use it for safety (like taking tape from TV for sadako). I personally think that they can also make the battery last longer and if killer try to enter the closed door, it will instead bonk the door and drain the battery power for a bit (although it sound like more foxy than springstrap lol)

Just want to say real quick the power and mechanics aren't really all that special and is basically other killers powers. Huntress and sadako/alien

You're literally borrowing the killer's teleporting power and generating map-wide wall hacks for the whole team. What other killer powers allow you to do that? How much more rewarding do you want it to be??

One does not need to know where the killer exactly is as long as one knows that the killer is chasing someone else.
And the most important question: what makes stalking the killer with cameras worth it, instead of sitting at a gen and progressing the game towards an escape?

It takes less than 10 seconds. More value than opening a chest, doing a dull totem, both things that solo ques will inevitably do when doing gens is more efficient.

They probably won't do this, but I kind of hope they would make it so Survivors can Block one door at a time somehow.

I've only played the beta few games, but I felt like rushing gens and looping if killer comes is still the best tactic and not looking around the doors, unless a highly coordinated swf.

Not really, since the guy can just leave his axe behind on like a gen, totem, or choke point for info and pick it up from where ever he is whenever he needs it in chase.

It really doesn't though… Unless you have an idea of where he is, then you're going to be searching on cams for a bit at least, which he could use to either teleport to you or come up from behind to grab you. At that point it's just better to use an aura perk or do what you normally do with any other killer and just listen out for him.
I think it would be nice if it gave him a mini debuff, maybe something that helps others who are in chase, so that he has to decide whether he wants to use his axe on the camera about to spot him or on the player he's chasing. Anything that's at least slightly inconvenient and makes using the cams more worth the risk of being caught off guard and downed.-1 -
Ig 20 seconds of wallhacks. To wich the killer cant do anything to deny them that (since it can spot through walls) isnt enough... seems like the only "fair" counterplay for survivors is removing the killers power like xeno and singu

After a while no one is going to be using them. There are plenty of Perks and Blood Amber that provide the same benefit.

Easily mistaken SpringTrap being our first killer that's both 115% move speed without the axe, but move at 110% when he has the axe on him.
