What exactly do you lose if you "Abandon" ?
I have never abandoned so I don't understand.
It says that you will lose your match progress - does that mean XP or progress towards quests?
It also says that you will lose add-ons...? Aren't all add-ons consumed once the trial is over?
Even if you escape with the toolbox or medkit you brought, your add-ons are gone anyway, correct?

Basically nothing. You retain challenge progress and exp obtained up until the point of abandoning. I guess if your bot were to earn something after you abandoned, you dont get that, which might be what "match progress" is referring to.

Could Match Progress be the rank pips? I haven't tested it but it seems possible.

you don't go up or down in matchmaking but before ptb all it does is a draw for survivor and loss for killer
on ptb 4 slugged counts as a loss now i think

Keep in mind some of the new challenges track completed trials. Not sure if abandoning a trial would count towards that.

So, this morning I was playing Freddy on Midwich against a good team. I had only got two hooks before the final generator popped.
I hooked Kate in the middle of the courtyard and the survivors kept messing up the save.
I eventually had Kate hanging on 2nd hook with 2 slugs and chased the healthy one out the gate.
Then, all 3 abandoned. You're telling me that 3k I got doesn't count as a win for me? That's wild 😆

Yes, and that's why Survivors abandoning like this are being changed in the PTB and the live game soon. Because it can force a Killer to not gain progress towards Grades or challenges they should have gotten. Or, to gain MMR, if they care about that.

no for survivors before ptb goes live it's a draw for them but if killer abandons it's a loss essentially
so if you abandoned with all bots you "draw" even though they dc you have to play with bots or nothing counts besides bp
if survivors hide for 10 minutes to wait you out and you abandon as killer it's a loss

you will lose a BP bonus if you brought it. I have still got pips but maybe MMR. I am not about to waste my time on the ground with three crows because the killer wanted to play slug and seek

Is this confirming that people never read patch notes?

Abandoning a match still counts as its completion. Abandoning essentially acts as the match ending naturally as and when you choose to abandon, with nothing else gained or lost from the moment.

didn't notice sorry

Sorry. I miss things sometimes in the patch notes.

You don't lose anything that you wouldn't already lose if you finished the match normally outside of a little BP for hooking/struggling. Any challenges that require trial completion still count even if you abandon. You also get match XP like normal.
MMR is up in the air. I assume it works based on how they worded it, so in the killer losing scenario, the killer would lose MMR based on survivors left. Not 100% on this though as they were a little vague on that.
