TCoFS being just a Trapper skin PMO!
I am a HUGE Supermassive Games fan. I have gotten every achievement on every game they have made (on steam) and I play these games religiously. TcoFS, while being very flawed, is still one of my favorite games ever. I love DBd and I love SMG and the game is so great in my opinion. I was so excited to finally get a Supermassive games chapter in DBD, especially with how Frank Stone was portrayed in Chapter 14 of the game.
Then they barely mention how hes going to be a TRAPPER skin? WHAT. THE. HELL.
- Why make an ENTIRE GAME just for these characters, and then not make them into a chapter?? It makes no sense at all, I get that the game wasn't a huge success, but making it a chapter would've undeniably raised sales and interest for the game!
- They do things in the game that feel almost meant to show his power in action! No matter what you do [SPOILER ALERT!], Frank Stone eats someone and absorbs them, and then they scream sometimes, causing him to need to stab himself. CLEARLY that is showing something that would be in a killer kit, plus the ghost version and the cameras, there's such good potential for a killer kit here.
- The survivors could have great perks, they are literally shown completing generators and looping the killer IN THE GAME (Linda / Madi literally SPINS the killer!). they are all so interesting and fun, that I can see any of the 5 playable characters being perfect survivors for the game. But… they literally might never get added to the game in ANY WAY?? Why spent 3 hours building up these characters just for a game that… shows the entity is scary???
- The trapper is NOTHING. AND I MEAN NOTHING LIKE FRANK STONE! Plus he's one of my least favorite killers to play! Me, one of it not the BIGGEST tcofs fan probably wont even buy it because it's for a killer I hate. How do you make a ghost man that came from a CAMERA into THE TRAPPER??? It makes no sense, besides them having generally similar physical statues.
I know the announcement came a while ago, and I thought I was just happy with anything, but now that I actually think about it, I feel LIVID. BHVR just wants us to forget about this game, but I'm a huge fan, and this feels like a slap in the face.

i never played that game nor watched a playthrough but it's weird how in an ip they own they didn't just make frank a killer as a bonus or something to draw people toward that ip more

Yeah, alot of us were very disappointed at that news

imagine if this is all just a ploy to get us up and arms about TCoFS not being in the game and just a skin and then he ends up being the next killer lol

That would be a play straight out of chess.

Unfortunately I think a lot of people either weren't willing to try TCoFS or decided they didn't like it because their favourite streamer didn't.
For that reason I suppose they want to Bury it along with previous failed games.
There wasn't enough publicity either.
It is by no means perfect, but I found it entertaining and loved the constant DBD references.

justice for frank stone
even if it wasn't popular, some of their original chapters aren't. They still make skins for skull merchant, twins, and hag after all. At absolute worst, frank stone would be like them, less played killers with a few dedicated fans (like me)

I will forgive every bad thing I said about them if that happens lmao
(I meant to reply to someone else with this, it didn't work somehow)

Yeah it makes no sense that they wouldn't at least do a Frank Stone killer paragraph.

Eh I wouldn't be surprised if Trapper gets a human Frank Stone skin from closer to the beginning of the game and we get what we see at the end as a different character later on.
I just don't see BHVR creating a name for Frank as The Champion if they were never going to put him in but that will obviously take some time so this is just like an appetizer in the meantime.

I'm pretty sure its the final form they want to add as a skin

The disappointment I had when they announced TCoFS wasn't getting its own Chapter, but instead getting only a Trapper legendary skin of Frank was tremendous. TCoFS was denied its proper respect and tribute in DBDverse.

Seriously though. Even if he was a basic M1 killer, I'd play him

This is also what I'm hoping. But to be honest, I would have thought BHVR had planned for a Frank Stone chapter to come to the game very soon after the original release of TCoFS, if that was ever going to be the case. So for that reason, I doubt they're actually working on one.
It would be so cool to have game play mechanic where the Killer can send out spectral projections of himself and the Survivors can use a super 8 camera to go into a first person perspective to zap them.

He could be F tier and I'd play him, I just need him to be his own character

It would be hard to get everyone on board with making a chapter based on a game that sold less than expected.
Might've worked if one of the survivors was Sable (guaranteed cashcow)

I wish we could have a mod/dev comment on this stuff since its such a shame to throw such a unique character away

yeah, the fact that I haven't heard a single dev response on the frank stone discussions upsets me. There's been a decent amount of talk about it, but the only thing they've said about (as far as I'm aware) it is still just the initial skin reveal

its not just based on a game that sold less than expected, the entire game is a massive lore filled teaser. Yes, the game didn't do well, but they could at least have some respect for their original content.
Between this, the team that did the unknown teasers being fired from what I heard (don't know how to fact check), houndmaster only getting a single teaser the day of the ptb and nothing else, the skull merchant live execution, and six of the last eight chapters being original, it really doesn't feel like they care about their original content that much.
Dead by daylight has a story they want to tell, but they can't tell it if every time they try they treat it like this. The original story of frank stone didn't sell well, but it has a lot to it that shouldn't be scrapped. It can be redeemed instead of thrown away
