The Devs are funny
Comments

The devs change their minds all the time.
They once said that no clowns would be added.

As a solo player, I'm just gonna "open the gates and leave" when this perk is in play lol can't coordinate around it, and it'll probably be used with Blood Warden. I'll leave the endgame shenanigans to swf

Community managers and devs are different people.
The devs are simply doing what killers want, they don't like gates to be at 99% so they added a perk for it, doesn't matter how frustrating it is to play against it.

Imo, Blood Warden and Haywire is not the pairing people should fear, but rather Remember Me and Haywire.
If you have a killer that can travel from gate to gate fast with this combo, the endgame will be lengthy at best and a slow stomp at worst.

Lol as some one who refuses solo play I get it+ solo que is fked up! And they are making it more fked.up. where solo play is dqmn near unplayable at this point. But we don't blame you for doing this

I didn't even think about Remember Me 😫 does Haywire only revert back down to 50% progress or all the way back to zero? Sole Survivor meta incoming lol
6 -
Only down to 50%, thankfully.
2 -
Haywire + remember me meta might be too oppresive for killers like blight, hillbilly, nurse, spirit :(
3 -
Blight and Hillbilly yes.
Spirit and Nurse, not so much.
I'd worry more about Singularity, Twins, Dredge and Springtrap.

For the heywire remember me combo. Remeber the killer wil have 2 less perks during the game and if you just open the door instead of 99 heywire wont come into effect anyways
3 -
But that's just enough to win the game.
Tunnel out the obsession and you're good to go - slug here and there in the endgame and you win

Endgame builds on Freddy are already especially oppressive, especially when he uses that add-on that lets him teleport to exit gates. Haywire will just make it worse.
3 -
Freddy isn't even the worst one, as he has a cooldown between uses.
Try Singularity, Springtrap or Hillbilly, or even Dredge.

I don't think there's much of a contradiction here, since those first two statements shown were about a basekit mechanic and Haywire is a perk, not a basekit mechanic.
There are a lot of effects that wouldn't be appropriate as a basekit mechanic in every single trial, but are appropriate as options players can bring at the cost of one of their limited perk slots.

Please keep commentary civil and on topic.

Expecting the Haywire + Remember Me combo?

This will just end up being a Knowledge Check for survivors.
If a survivor has so much extra time, that they don’t need to immediate leave the trial, then can open the gate to like 80%, wait a few seconds, then check if the exit gate regressed at all. Because if it didn’t regress, then they don’t have to worry about the perk.

Ha ha, yep. And NOED and No Way Out and that aforementioned add-on for Freddy. It'll be just as strong on any other Killer, too.
0 -
Hahaha, fair enough.
I haven't used an Endgame build with Freddy since before his rework, but I'll test it for ya, friend! See how powerful it truly is.
…Might have to check if I even have No Way Out, since I never leveled up Trickster.

Dredge and springtrap why? their mobility is fixed to certain objects that can be far from gates.
0 -
Yes, but if they get a spawn like that (and they usually do), their incredibly short cooldowns between travels make them very good at patrolling.
0 -
The chance this happens is so little, just bigger chance chest spawns there and still dredge and springtrap arent super strong killers like blight and billy so if thez get spawn there this wont be a issue.
