Any updates on Merchant? Either more design previews or interim buffs?
Title says it all, I think.
The "Q3-Q4 2025" drop date for the Merchant rework looks like it's absolutely not happening now, between the focus on QOL changes for the year and the non-starter design previews that have been dragged back to the drawing board.
On one hand, I respect the priorities: you guys can't do everything at once. But on the other hand, the balance team did shove a high-C tier Killer into a mincing machine with the promise you'd fix her, so it's not unreasonable I think to expect proper maintenance for the product people paid $12 for.
So what's the plan? If we're not going to get the rework by the end of the year, are we to expect interim buffs to tide her over? There's no disputing how spectacularly awful she is after she received 8 mostly-uncompensated nerfs back in October and it's not acceptable to leave a Killer this bad for this long as an intentional choice.
My suggestions of harmless buffs that would improve the Killer experience and give her a bit more bite without making her feel worse to go against:
- Revert the fast vault immunity nerf (this is the big one)
- Fix Undetectable so that it starts instantly on deployment (like Ghostface popping Night Shroud) instead of fading the Terror Radius out (this would give her the full Undetectable duration of 6s as advertised, rather than functionally 2s like it currently is)
- Increase baseline rotation speed by 10 degrees per second (i.e. Prototype Rotor base kit)
If it takes a while to deliver a proper rework, then so be it. Take all the time you need! But that's no excuse to intentionally leave a Killer this terrible for this long, especially when anti-camp/anti-slug/anti-tunnel changes are coming which will undoubtedly make Killers' lives harder. A harder time getting kills is not something Merchant demands.

She may be that "reworked into a new killer" part of the roadmap.

Sure gives off Freddy vibes, doesn't it?
But yes, I agree. And I would go as far as to support a full reversion of her kit, back to what we had prior to her nerfs.
Because that kit was fine. The problem had been fixed, the 3-gen madness was gone. It is absolutely ridiculous that players still continued to DC and suicide on hook against a killer that no longer caused any problems for the game.

Agree. They should give us SM 2.0 back as she was.

agreed. and they should issue an apology for having made a bunch of kneejerk changes at the behest of a toxic community.
