Havoc stricken, defeated, beaten and torn. A corpse without a soul and left to aimlessly wander empty space, wailing for substance. How about you?

Never used them so unbothered. I'd rather they just remove them because they're essentially bloodweb clutter
48 -
The compies can just spam the survivors start separated offering now instead so I think they'll be just fine
-5 -
They should have just deleted them outright. 20% makes them useless to the point where they will never be used. What is the point of keeping them around at all?
25 -
Never used them outside of trying to get map specific achievements done. Honestly wish they'd delete them entirely. Waste of space in the blood webs tbh.
8 -
I'm not happy with it. I used them because I would get sick of the same map being in rotation on some servers over and over again. Why even have them at this point if there is only a 20 percent chance of getting it?
8 -
Well the map offerings hardly provided an advantage to begin with because most of the offerings have killer-sided variants now, and you never know what killer you're going against. So it honestly doesn't change much. The game remains heavily killer-sided as all the stats are showing.
-1 -
Not really happy, but it had to be done for the good of the game.
-7 -
I mostly played them just for a change up because I’d get sick of the same maps over and over again through RNG. Though the two maps that you suggested as always being played by survivors are not maps that I really would ever play. I’d be just as likely to play Midwich and RPD as survivor as I would Ormond or Withered Isle offerings.
My entire reason for playing them was for variety not advantage. It gets boring playing Coldwind, Red Forest, and yes MacMillan maps over and over again. The only newish maps that seems to fall into the rotation with any deal of frequency is Toba Landing / Nostromo.
So yeah I really don’t like this change because RNG is basically the same EVERY time. The ability to have some variety was a good thing. I don’t think the change needed to be as excessive as it was just like everything else they’ve done. Removing the ability for it to stack was good enough to prevent SWF trolls.

Was never that happy about a update in dbd:
No constant spam of mapofferings anymore, it feels so good to not load into a match with the knowledge that I have to play on eyries or the game or something for the 23th game today because of an offering
-1 -
I only mourn them for jump scare Mikey. Other than that good riddance.
7 -
Honestly not sure how to feel about it. on the one hand I used to use Lery's offering when playing wraith (silent bell and wall hack addon made it very fun for jumpscares) but outside of that i never used offerings unless i REALLY wanted to play a certain map. I do like the fact that i don't have to worry as much about going to a map which is inherently survivor sided like badham preschool 1 - 99 or Borgo but again if i did get those offerings i would just say sod it and focus tunnel someone just because of the map.
What should have happened is when this change happened have a way we can cash in our map offerings for a percentage of bloodpoints back as they are basicly useless now due to the gamble. We should also be able to turn them off on the bloodweb but this will never happen because its a way to dilute the bloodweb meaning everyone doesn't get stacked items/addons-2 -
- this change, while seemingly "hurting" survivors ("Eyrie of Crows" is famous for this), actually hurts all stealth killers HUGELY. If you are truly "main killers", how did you not think when you asked for this change?
0 -
Yeah, that combo is now much worse.
-1 -
I mean they might as well just take map offering out at this point in the game killer complained them into oblivion
6 -
Good. One player should not be able to drag the other 4 players to their map. It was a bad system. Now it's just hobbled.
IMO, Map Offerings should BAN a map, 100%. That's useful and not unfair. It's common in PvP games.
-4 -
Not a fan. While I think map offerings are powerful we already have sacrificial ward to disable map offerings. Now SWF's can bring shroud of binding or bring 4 different map offerings and they nearly guarantee at least one of their maps will be picked.
-2 -
Im happy. Never needed them except for the rpd exit gate achievement. And now the most annoying version of myers can't force everyone into his ideal environment every time, and bully squads can't bring you to their favorite stomping grounds.
2 -
P99 Scratched Mirror Myers. Almost made it before they took the fun out of it.
SM is counterable, even at Lerys, Hawkins, Midwich and RPD. A pickup group with at least two good players can run rings around and unskilled Mikey, and a co-ordinated team does even better. Bully squads absolutely destroyed me in my early games. It isn't a guaranteed win.
Before someone rolls out the usual, "Hurr, skill issue!" comment, the problem is compatibility, rather than skill. There's no point running an ambush build when there's nowhere to hide, and when only one in five rare map offerings actually work there's no fun in playing it. The probability is too low. 50% would be workable, but 20%? They might as well just remove the mirrors, as well as the maps.
4 -
The only thing I don't like about it is that Scracthed Mirror Myers is dead, other than that, it's a blessing.
2 -
I'm very happy with the change, though it does make map offerings useless. At the same time, completely removing them wouldn't make any sense, it would be lame to just delete thousands of offerings from people's inventories, and it might mess with item distributions in the bloodweb to remove so many offerings at once.
As for Scratched Mirror, that should be easy to fix. For some reason when they made him 110% in Tier 1, they also made it so Scratched Mirror put him back down to 105%, which I think is lame. Now they can probably remove that downside from the addon. Maybe even buff it so he's 115% with Scratched Mirror? It's a thought.
I'd see the same maps in rotation exactly because people would bring map offerings. There's a realm repeat prevention system in place to help with getting repeat maps, hopefully it will kick in more often now that people aren't constantly forcing certain realms.
-4 -
The nerf wasn't enough and all it did was change the issue of filling the Bloodweb with things that rigged matches to filling the Bloodweb with completely worthless junk
They should be removed entirely, or turned into Realm Bans instead
1 -
A bit frustrated, honestly.
I didn't get the 'Outbreak Breakout' and 'Hack the Mainframe' achievements, before the change, now it'll be even harder. 😩
1 -
It‘s stupid. They just made even more stuff useless with this patch. There shouldn‘t be any useless content in the game.
2 -
<sad spoon Myers noises>
2 -
I'm glad they gutted them. Being able to guarantee a good map for you was far too much of an advantage for either side that did it. Playing a match that you know you are likely to lose before you even get past the loading screen feels bad.
-2 -
I used to burn map offerings for a few reasons:
- Map achievements: Since BHVR is doing the separate queue for new maps when they come out for a few days, it will help me out to get any new map-based achievements. RIP anyone trying to get Outbreak Breakout though.
- Tome challenges: I'd burn map offerings to make it easier to get "fall from a great height" or "Hit survivors when you're undetectable (via scratched mirror Myers"-style challenges, but since those have mostly gone away or since you can get progress on multiple quests now in the new system, I don't feel as bad about that.
Overall, I don't think it's a huge issue for me at least.

I think they can remove them completely at this point so as not to fill the bloodweb with more junk (there is already enough of that).
6 -
It is alright.
I don't recall ever using them except for the few Badham offerings I would use on Freddy whenever there was a Quentin among the survivors (gotta go for the ANOES-themed trial).
Other than that they just collected dust.

Broken logic by the Devs following the Playerbase's.
At this point we should have Mario Kart style Map choosing where the 5 players pick a Map and 1 gets chosen. It would make so much better sense than the logic we have now.
4 -
Same. Let me turn them in for BP.

It's a message for everyone but really just survivors and meme Myers.
-2 -
It's great, but i would have preferred them getting converted to map BAN offerings, but it would only pick one of the survivors bans and of course a killer's ban.
-2 -
I miss my tobas and meat plants.
0 -
I would have prefered if they straight up removed them or turned them into offerings that would ban certain maps/realms instead.
Honestly anything is better than what they used to be, so i'm fine with their current state.

It's a terrible change, terrible. The game is now ACTIVELY LESS FUN for me and my friends. Coupled with the new crow system, and the broken going next prevention keeping you stuck on hook at end game, It's taken the wind right out of our sails.
Map offerings were not the problem, specific map design was, and the new changes to map offerings make the game lesser for it.
Removing map offerings removes the customization options my friends and I had that allowed us to create unique and silly experiences and have fun (the entire reason we're all here). We each have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of outfits for various characters, and we like to have the option to match our characters to a map for a more immersive and fun experience (helping to keep matches feel more fresh after all of this time).
For example, we can say "It's cowboy time, pardner!" and switch to Rebecca in her old west outfit and another can pop on their Kate cowboy outfit, we can send ourselves to Dead Dawg, and now we're survivors running in the 'old west'. You can even bring bardic to play in the saloon (when not in chase or on gen) for that extra silly immersion.
Same thing for "RESIDENT EVIL TIME!!" and all four of us can pop into one of our multiple RE characters and all of their extra player cosmetics and one of us would use RPD to guarantee we get to run around RPD as "S.T.A.R.S. squad". OR if we were really lucky, unbeknownst to us, killers would sometimes switch to Wesker or Nemi in the lobby and choose to send US to RPD for a fun complete RE themed match (which was always an amazing surprise when it happened). With this new system we just keep using RPD offerings and for map after map we are just four RE jackasses running around Midwich or Autohaven. Even the Weskers look disappointed when we all load into Lampkin Lane instead of RPD.
Without the map offerings, ALL OF THOSE FUN SCENARIOS AND MORE ARE DEAD AND GONE. Those were just a few examples, we had a bunch of outfits and perk combos like a Yui, Feng, Yun-Jin squad running around Yamaoka in traditional dress for all of us (if we get an Oni, it was even better), etc, now ALL OF THOSE MOMENTS ARE GONE (like tears in the rain).
The game is less fun to play now, they removed a game mechanic that allowed variation and creativity in customization of play. Why would you want to limit the player's ability to create scenarios for fun among friends?
I have 2100+ hours and for the first time EVER last night in chat our friend group talked about walking away from the game and what we might look to replace it with. I never thought that feeling would arrive and so quickly, it was a gut punch. Everyone talked about how the FNAF chapter was going to be the next rebirth of this game, so far it's been a giant step backwards for creativity and customization for fun.
Combined with the new "AFK & going next prevention" mechanics, I feel the game now punishes my friends and I for wanting to deviate from what is determined as "the preferred and optimal play style of survivors". It now holds us hostage in a match, wasting our and others time. It doesn't make me want to play, it makes me go, "why is the game forcing me to play a certain way and punishing me for not? I'm not having fun, why am I playing this if I'm not having fun?"
Why does every match have to be so rigidly controlled? Why can't it be messy or silly? You win some, you lose some. It really feels like recent gameplay changes and the vocal diehard members of the community are constantly trying to force players to streamline every match, so it looks like comp play with no room for deviation from the preferred play styles.
My friend group were all waiting and planning to buy a bunch of outfits during the anniversary event, but there is way less of an incentive to buy at all if we can't also customize our match to create a theme anymore, and that's just money out of their pockets."
We love this game, I have made lifelong friends through it, but we are all not fans of the direction the game mechanics are trending. It feels like change for change's sake. I wanted to share our opinion on this from the perspective of a player group who have put a lot of time into the game and share a scenario where map offerings were truly essential to creating a fun gaming experience unique to DBD and not used for random griefing, as some are quick to say.

I'm a killer main. I suck pretty bad at survivor. In fact, I'm so bad at survivor that the game apparently thinks I'm dying on purpose even when I'm literally trying to escape in order to do your benchmarks quests. But, that's another issue entirely.
Anyways, every change they made is bad. First off, if survivors pick a map a lot, then I see the map a lot, and I tend to be better at that map than maps I don't see as much :D That Hawkins laboratory? Yeah, I see it a TON. That's ok. I basically know it like the back of my hand now.
I've played about 600 matches, give or take. I've only had (two remaining) survivors try to hide literally once, and I just found them and killed them.
This game literally needs no changes. They should just undo these recent changes then stop making major changes to the game. It's fun. It works. You win some, you lose some. People troll you sometimes, but that's whatever. Welcome to the internet. They should just leave well enough alone and stop trying to fix what isn't broken. The game is fine as is.6 -

Happy because the devs replaced the S tier map offerings with a new S tier offering being the shroud of separation. Words cannot express how insane of an advantage this offering gives survivors AND its secret too.

Gutting them ruined my ruined my enjoyment of the game. The game apparently must be perfect for those comp sweats that ruin anything fun in the game. I’m not even allowed to play on maps I like anymore. Bye bye my indoor maps, I will miss you and welcome useless updated map offerings that are just a waste of bloodpoints in my bloodweb.
-2 -
Think the nerfs were heavy-handed. I feel like the offering rarity should be bumped down to uncommon and bloodweb cost reduced if they’re only going to have 20% chance to send you somewhere.
Imo 20% is too low I would’ve settled for a 1/3 odds which gets lower depending on how many other maps were offered.
1 -
They should have swapped them around and made them a map ban. You use the thing to make sure that you don't get that map.
3 -
No one would use map offerings to just ban one single map. If they introduced something like that they would need to allow banning 3-4 maps with one offering.
-1 -
It already would since map offerings are usually to a realm. So you would be banning multiple maps already.
2 -
Still would have greatly prefered if they split them into "indoor" "outdoor" and "nullify" offerings, as many killers play (both against and as) very differently depending on that distinction alone. That said, its at least better than how easily maps could have their RNG mitigated (which allowed for unhealthy builds that required specific maps) as well as just forcing maps that advantaged either side specifically. It needed a change, even if this wasn't necessarily it.

I had already a killer trying to send us to a killer sided map
I love it

It's just yet another garbage change in a long list of them that removes a unique part of DBD. They should just remove the burn offerings system at this point because its just wasted space now. There was a time we had a variety of offerings that did different things and it made sense to actually burn offerings, but now its stagnant and the pool of offerings has all but dried up over the years leaving just a few wet spots.
6 -
I also believe that Outbreak Breakout should get a reduction on how many times you have to escape. Say.... 8 times? 10?

Honestly I'm glad because Being sent to map where you have no chance of winning every match is kinda annoying. I only used Map offerings because I wasn't able to see anything of how strongly dark some maps where (Midwich, forgotten Ruins) because I'm on Switch. But sense with Gamma I'm able to enjoy the game in peace and try killers I wasn't able to play because I needed map offerings for them to Even play that killer. I feel like I can enjoy the game without worrying of going on a unfair map.
But them being around still and being useless is kinda dumb
