Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Teleportation Gates are what ruin Spring Trap.

As a title says, right now any survivor who played against this killer knows that they don't need to search for generators because every Spring Trap door will lead to a generator. As the result, survivors have the same '''map presence'' as the killer and can easily gen rush him, leaving even less time for a chase or room for an error. Meanwhile, Spring trap has no ''killer instinct'' when he goes through the door and has to rely on an addon which ''shows'' the ''generator'' progress.

On top of that, he is a killer who has no anti-loop other than axe, which is difficult to aim and does slow killer as long as he is holding it.

What was the reason to have so many counters introduced for a killer who isn't fast or has no insta-down capabilities?

Any competent survivor knows that going through the door when killer is chasing someone is the easiest way to find a generator. Swfs especially exploit this knowledge to the max. In fact, you don't even need to go through the doors in some cases - once you see one you already know the gen is somewhere nearby.

Axe works fine during vaulting and on short range. Any loop that can obstruct vision is a bane for this killer because he can't catch up to survivor due to being slower with Axe being equipped. If he does throw Axe, he can try to chase like a normal M1 killer but then he has nothing against a loop of any kind, be it a pallet or a window.

He is currently way too weak against similar killers and is the only killer who's power can not only be countered but used against him. There's no other killer in the game who has his power ''used'' against him / her so effectively.

The signs on the rooms on Treatment Theater show you if generators are there:

    • Sign off: no generator
    • Sign on: finished generator
    • Sign flickering: unfinished generator

I believe this also works for the generators in hallways, the ceiling lights will be on/off/flicker, but these are easier to see so I don't pay much attention to them.

As far as I know the game never tells you this. It might be good to have as a loading screen tip or something.

Most survivors are unaware of this though. People that have been playing a while knew this due to game experience. To be fair I have only been here since Weskers release and I only found out about Lery's a year ago.

Ive only seen people affraid to use the doors because its instadown if he just so happens to walk into any of them. They also don't bother much with the camera since there is a chance he can just come up behind you and again instadown. While playing him i LOVED using the doors since im a xeno main, those doors are so much better than tunnels for mobility and stealth and even have much faster entrance+travel time. And i used them quite often to maintain undetectable and start chases with a free hit. The thought of survivors using doors to get around doesnt even cross my mind

The doors are your friends, the doors will spread the team and get you to gens, just because Springroll can insta grab you while you're using them doesn't mean he will. In order for him to get you, he has to also get in a door and select the door you entered… So, Unless he has aura reveal and can see you enter the door from where he is, and unless he is literally right next to a door of his own so he can get you before you tp to another… the risk of getting grabbed is minimal. If he doesn't have Aura read on you, its a crap shoot; a 1 in 6 chance that he guesses which door you entered correctly, and that's only IF he enters/teleports to it within the 3 second window of time it takes you to TP to another door.

The devs could have made it so that survivors always get grabbed if he attempts TP'ing to any door while they are and meet in the security room, but no, he has to choose your door, or you his in order for the grab to occur and both of you have to be using the doors within 3 seconds of eachother. so, here's a tip: At the start of the match Ignore the door you spawned closest too since he's likely to be TP'ing to it right away, and then feel free to use them to spread out and get on gens. Honeslty, the insta grab chance is so small, and completely null if you see he's chasing someone, that you can use them against him for a quick gen rush. His power is one that gives survivors a major benefit, and right now, since he's new, survivors are too scared to use them, but as I've pointed out:

Do not fear the doors, embrace them! They'll take you places.
