You deserve a round of applause for ruining an iconic licensed killer.
After hyping this chapter for over a year, it's truly amazing that what we got was just a mashup of abilities from existing killers! Looks like you've run out of ideas.
Kudos to the dev team for the hard work during the three weeks between the PTB and live release. You managed to add one animation when grabbing a survivor while teleporting. Sure, there are sound bugs and invisibility glitches, but hey, just blame the QA team and move on!
If anyone had even touched the PTB, it would've been obvious that survivors have zero reason to check CCTV instead of repairing gens. But instead of adjusting the balance, you just released it as-is!
But do you know what’s the funniest part?
Springtrap is going to sell well.
Why? Because unlike Nemesis from the Resident Evil chapter—who was so boring he caused player numbers to plummet—Springtrap just copy-pastes Huntress’s ability, the most popular killer in the game!
It’s absolutely hilarious that the chase experience of Huntress, a killer released in the early days of the game, still feels more fun and reasonable than most of the recent killers.

There's no way to come up with unique ideas without somewhat reusing old ones. Moreover, this chapter was a stupid idea from a stupid game to begin with. You're lucky it even happened.

Some of the more recent killers, like Unknown, Vecna and even Ghoul are actually pretty unique. Springtrap was definitely a case of the devs wanting to play it safe and create an all-rounder with an already solid, established playstyle to maximize the chances of success and minimize controversy.

Unknown and Vecna are like a year old, aren't they? Ghoul I'll give you, but his power is conceptually very simple.

You had me right up until you insulted my teenage years ;-;

It's disrespectful takes like this (the opinion is fine, the communication of that opinion is the issue) that create the disconnect between the devs and us. Are the devs perfect? Absolutely not. Do I agree with almost everything you said? Absolutely. But the fact of the matter is that you're still playing this game, and I'm still playing this game. So, they must have done something right, and they have shown that they will listen and walk back their mistakes if we communicate with them.

Where was this energy with Freddy, Ghostface, Nemesis, Pyramid Head and Leatherface lol

Sorry, but I'm not particularly thrilled to see a character on my ten year old brother's tshirt in my game. I don't mind the gameplay loop, but I do mind the franchise being for kids and the characters all looking straight up stupid.
I'm not even a horror elitist. I've never even considered dbd a horror game. I just want the killers to look somewhat good, and Springtrap + all of his skins simply don't.
I was against FNAF being in the game for as long as I've known people were asking for it. So...2020? 2019? I've been against the franchise for longer than most of y'all have even been playing the game, specifically because I knew I'd have the problems I do now with it. It didn't take a genius to see.

Woah buddy. You seem to love to blame people despite the fact you don't even know how this killer was developed. Scott Cawthon is very protective of his IP and oversaw basically the entire development of Springtrap so don't go and blindly throw blame around towards people who don't deserve it. BHVR did what Scott said and this Springtrap design is ultimately what Scott wanted. The blending of abilities will always happen in games like these. Originality can only last so long in live service character based games. So either be silent and move on or (and id prefer this) tell me what Springtrap's power should have been in your eyes.

10/10 rage bait, you really fit a lot in here. you got the 'fnaf is for kids' when there's absolutely nothing that implies that (no, selling toys and merchandise doesn't mean the entire franchise is aimed towards kids). saying springtrap doesn't look good must've been hard to type out knowing it's just completely false, i respect the commitment though
1 -
Just don't buy the killer lmao
-1 -
fnaf wasn't for kids in 2014
gta is all the rage with kids now does that mean gta released as a game for kids?
0 -
It's not rage bait to genuinely not like a killer.
And yes, it's for kids. That's why it's 90% kids that play it.
I'm going to for perks. Doesn't mean I'm happy he's in the game.
Yeah it was. Unlike GTA, it's actually meant for them. You're not a bad parent if you let your 10 year old play FNAF. You are if you let them play GTA.

What, fnaf for kids?? I guarantee u know nothing about fnaf then. Not liking the character, sure that's fine, but saying it's a character made for kids is insane, especially if it's Springtrap

Just because it's popular with kids doesn't mean it's a kid's game. It's very bog standard indie horror, but it's not for kids, especially when you get into the lore of Springtrap himself. His backstory is vile and would give a lot of kids nightmares. Back in the day it was popular with TEENAGERS more than anything, and those teens are now adults who are going to be very excited about their favorite horror icon being in DBD. So let's be respectful, ey?

The lore of the game is irrelevant when it doesn't affect the game itself. It's for kids. It's FINE to like kid's stuff, bro. Just own it. Hell, I was literally just watching Star Vs The Forces of Evil.
-2 -
His backstory isn't in the actual game. It's for kids.

Counterargument: it's springtrap

Now you're just trying to be personal,if gameplay means it's for kids than a lot of games would be for kids, then it really doesn't matter what the game is. Fnaf isn't for kids, this is an issue with a lot of indie games being "for kids". Besides,im not a huge fnaf fan. Good ragebait and trying to call ppl out then you have no real argument besides "it's for kids, the gameplay is for kids". And the lore is in some of the games? In one of them you literally watch your organs get scooped out

Another thing,it doesn't change the fact that fnaf is still a horror game

gameplay means it's for kids than a lot of games would be for kids
A lot of games ARE for kids.
I'm not getting personal, you're refusing to acknowledge that you like a kid's game.
Besides,im not a huge fnaf fan.
BS. You wouldn't be here arguing with me if you weren't 🤷🏽♂️

So is Granny. Still a kid's game.
-2 -
I don't think I ever played FNAF, so I wasn't all that bothered about this chapter, but I was looking forward to being able to do something new and unique. This killer didn't really hit the mark, but when we look at the roster in general, most of their killers are using the same old tricks.
I guess doing it this way makes it a lot easier to code and maybe that's for the best. Look what happens when BHVR introduce new code.

Never played a fnaf game,js thought the lore was cool. U know what, when u bring up granny,i cannot lie there,u won

Someone said since it's such a hyped chapter bhvr wanted to play it safe or smth like that

A. You still haven't pointed out the Guts scooping
B.The games go through 8 bit mini games showing the murders
C. The puppet is shown holding a young girl bleeding out in an alleyway, killed by Afton
D.Fnaf 4, I literally do not need to explain more with that
E. In Fnaf 1 the death screen shows eyes coming out of the suit
F. In Fnaf 3 we get shown Afton getting killed.
G. In ultimate custom night, a lot of the voice lines point to the lore, and some others could be considered scary to children
I feel I have made my point, Fnaf is not for kids, also Fnaf world is just one game in the franchise and therefore I do not count as there hasn't been anything like that again. If you need more I do have more, Good Day.
Edit: It may be child friendly horror, that does not mean it's for children. Also it's rated T which does not define a child, as they are most likely at puberty, as Teens usually are in progress puberty, assuming Fnaf vhs videos are in the mix that's even worse a lot of gore and potentially terrifying imagery appear, not assuming Fnaf vhs videos aren't in the mix, it's still bad, overall it is not a kids game (also if you stick an 8 year old on a Fnaf screen, they are going to have nightmares)
