This wraps up the differences between their portals. Springtrap has much better support, otherwise demo can shred, although springtrap can 2 tap you if he gets the axe on you while you are unaware or there are not pallets around, even with sunglasses it is harder for demo to doubletap. And this excludes the invisibility piece assuming that is an error.

Demo's portals, contrary to Springtrap's doors, can be actively used tactically for something else than gen defense and patrol.
You can use them to defend vital totems/know when someone is going somewhere (putting a portal down in basement stairs to know in advance if someone is going into basement for an unhook is diabolical but dangerous). With the right add-ons, it is nearly impossible to cleanse a totem if Demo doesn't want you to, Demo is arguably one of the best user of Devour Hope due to how difficult it can be for Survivors to get rid of it and how much time is wasted trying to get rid of it only to get repeatedly interrupted.
Portals can be destroyed, sure, but it takes a while (especially with certain add-ons) and wastes even more Survivor time if they want to get rid of a portal that's in a dangerous spot, not to mention that it's easily replaced even if they succeed.
Portals are harder to use, but they have more potential uses than Springtrap's doors.

I mean yeah, demos tp is pretty much useless if you are not 3 genning as no sentient being will be surprised by a demo teleport cuz as you said its is beyod telegraphed. Also a PSA the global tp cue for springtrap is not a faint noise like what you imply, when he is using his tp all ambient sounds get muffled, thats how you know he is using the tp, hope that helps you when you face him.

I am a bit deaf, I have listened for it, I can't tell. I can tell sadako's metal grinding sound but have a much harder time with springtrap's non noise

before defending totems was somewhat doable with lifeguard whistle since it would give detection right away, but it doesn't do that anymore. And you may be more likely to lose gens trying to defend the totem, especially now since you have to constantly shred, which would slow you down hunting survivors, which you have to walk around since you wouldn't want to risk the portal tp cooldown, especially if you aren't running rotten pumpkin in order to pop a portal immediately to check.
For basement, there is usually a door nearby and springtrap has a pretty easy time camping the door or waiting in it. Not that I really want to defend basement trapper or hag style, it is a pretty boring playstyle.

Its a lack of noise, so if you are a bit deaf yes its BS and you probably cannot detect it, altho I suspect he is supposed to have a noise and thats why the ambient sounds get muffled. If thats the case then wed have to wait.

Springtrap definitely gets the edge. Yes Demo has more potential utility but all the advantages ST's doors have make them overall stronger and more practical imo.
