The automatic hit after a failed grab only makes things worst and needs to go
It's been a few years since the devs implemented an automatic hit the killer delivers when failing to grab a survivor during an animation due to a latency issue. It seemed like a good thing at first, but for real, I cannot remember many times one of this automatic hits actually landed. Most of the time, what it does is force you into a quick hit that you can't control, STILL misses (because it always starts a bit late anyway, only when the grab animation stops), forcing you into a missed attack cooldown on top of the grab you lost, and it even locks your camera in the place the survivor was a second ago (usually a pallet, but can happen at a window or generator too).
This literally just stopped me from winning a game, as I was keeping pressure and having someone hooked all the time, until the game forced me to hit a palled and stare at it for a moment, giving time for the survivor to get out of the room without leving scratch marks (they had Distortion), so I couldn't even see where they had gone (the only blood stain was right in front of the pallet) and now all survivors where unhooked and I wasn't chasing anyone, which lost me the pressure I had and allowed them to complete the two gens left. If it was ONLY a failed grab, I could have followed the survivor for a couple seconds more and then hit them again, no biggie, but thanks to this infuriating auto-swing mechanic, it actually had impact on the match.
Oh, and by the way, I've been experiencing lagging and rubberbanding quite often lately, but it was rare before. Is the game more laggy with the amount of people playing right now or something?

yeah its so annoying how the game cancels your grab and then forces you to whiff with a visible delay
never understood why cant they just count it as a hit right away, survivor already got a get out of jail card even though they let killer get within grab range.

Grabs are handled so poorly in this game, one way or another.
Grabs seem to be one of the most likely ways to get your killer stuck/frozen, too.

One of my longstanding peeves is when I try to do a quick hit and the game turns it into a grab and then cancels the grab and then the survivor runs away. I genuinely feel that if the timing was that ambiguous, it should get converted into a hit and not a random swing at the scenery.
