this game can't be in a healthy spot right now...
i came back after a 6 month break and yes i'm a little bit rusty, but honestly what is this? Gens are flying like crazy, everyone is pre-leaving and holding W, there are no "weak links" anymore after 9 years of DBD. Chases take way longer than they should with this current gen speed… there are no perks to prevent this either. After 10 games my MMR should have adjusted but honestly i don't think its a skill issue. I play not much different from what i did a few months ago and the results are terrible.

letting you know it's going to get worse with phase 2 going after slugging and tunneling

You can't fault survivors for playing with a brain. Sounds like you were going against good teams.

Depends on where you MMR is at. There exist an upper threshold to what match making uses to match you with survivors. Lets say this is somewhere around 1700. Your MMR score though has no limit and you can have a score of 2300. That means if you lose over and over again, untill you drop below 1700 you will continue to be matched with the same level survivors.
Also 10 matches is not enough to drop you that far. Depending on the MMR of the survivors you could only drop a few or no points per match.

There is a large imbalance in the number of survivors vs the number of killers. It's probably making the already bad matchmaking system even worse due to how the search expands over time. You're probably being matched with people who are way out of your league. I've played five matches since the new update and have felt like the people I went against were significantly below my skill level.

Matchmaking isn't very good and in desperate need of an overhaul (which is apparently coming at some point)

6months without playing im sure you've slightly forgotten how to put pressure on gens whilst maintaining regular pressure on survs too. 6 months is a lot of time to lose muscle memory and important strategies to keep you in control of the match. I go a month or 2 and I've forgotten how to swing without being span lmaoooo, im sure you'll be fine after a few more games.

I disagree with what has been said in the post, especially when it comes to gen speeds because gens definitely aren't flying in the current meta (I wish they were though, seeing your gen get blocked by Grim Embrace or DMS over and over again is not fun). But I think the perspective here is interesting.
And it is interesting because a couple years ago (around 2021), in these very Forums, it was not rare for you to see the following line:
"DBD's current state is the most balanced / healthiest it has ever been"That was said EVERY DAY and repeated so often during such different eras of the game that it basically lost its meaning. But interestingly enough, you don't see it anymore. At least in recent discussions I've seen it, like, twice.
Seems to me the problems players have with the game are pointed out more often. That is a good thing, I suppose.

I've come to interpret "healthiest state" to mean the killer side feels the most fun while the survivor side feels like hell on earth. I sure love being 75% on a generator for it to be hit by surge, then pain res, then dead man's, then grim embrace.
Once Pandora's box was opened with hyper mobility killers like blight and also with killer powers that are 5 paragraph essays, this game became impossible to balance.
If you balance the game around trapper, blight mains can get 2k+ win streaks. If you balance the game around blight, trapper can't get more than a 2k. Unfortunately we've balanced the game around weaker killers and low skilled players, so "healthiest it's ever been" is now: "play any killer B tier and above, and you'll have practically guaranteed success while turning your brain off until you hit extremely high MMR."

That might very well be the case. I think it is pretty much impossible to claim any state of DBD after 6.1.0 is somehow close to the most balanced or healthiest state ever.
Balance has to go both ways. If the killer side is better and survivors are worse, then it isn't balanced. And I think the survivor experience has been getting gradually worse since 6.1.0
Killer design is largely to blame, yes. Mobility powers should have been handled carefully, and we shouldn't have as many anti-loop killers as we currently do.

I completely agree with your entire post. I see way too often that advocating for anything in the survivors' favor is seen as completely anti killer, when that is absolutely not the case. I'm not advocating for 1.0.0 brand new parts, 60 second generators, or double window shack. Asking for slight nerfs or tweaks on statistically overperforming killers/perks/addons is in the best interest of the health of the game.

Well said, my friend, I agree completely.

Lol bro, if you took 6 months off your mmr has reset to bottom of the barrel. You dont just keep your mmr level if you take a long break. You're whole novel u typed is BS. NOTHING about it makes any sense yo anyone thats been playing the past years up until now. I'm simply going to say that you absolutely suck and you bettwr get good or get left behind because if you're not 4k bottom mmr teams thats just pathetic.

You're going against good teams. I tend to leave lobbies that look like they're gonna be too good for me. I know my skill level. But my recent experience has been the opposite of yours. As a killer, I'm crushing players that are pretty good (whereas I'm not) and as a survivor (which I'm marginally better at) I'm getting ground into the dirt by garbage killers who get one hook the whole match but then lean on slugging to get a 4k they didnt really earn.
I've had the worst survivor experience in the last month compared to any other time. If you think the balance shifts otherwise, hop on survivor soloq and see how that goes for you.

The MMR didnt get a reset obviously because the guys i was playing against have around the same amount of hours that i do (starting at 1500h and going up to multiple thousands) and i even played against a polish comp player, so better stop yapping if you have nothing to say. This post was obviously a bit of a rage post after losing a few rounds, my main problem was that i wasn't yet adjusted to the absolutely boring high MMR killer routine of DBD, which means tunneling that first hook out like a maniac. And yeah i'm also just rusty after 6 month break, which is normal in a game with many mechanics and knowledge checks.
