The Unknown needs a buff.

The Unknown needs a buff.
After playing dozens of matches with him, it’s clear that his power is too easy to counter against experienced survivors. UVX Blast is easily avoided with basic line-of-sight and spacing, and the teleport is slow, predictable, and rarely creates real pressure. Survivors who pre-drop, stick together, or know how to rotate efficiently can shut him down completely.

Even when played well, The Unknown demands way more effort for much less reward compared to other killers — especially ranged ones like Springtrap, who applies pressure more consistently with less risk. His ricochet shots, AoE damage, and hallucinations look good on paper, but don’t translate into real map control or threat in most games.

This isn’t about being “hard to play” — it’s about balance. The effort-to-reward ratio is broken. Right now, against sweaty or coordinated survivors, he’s borderline unplayable and feels like a free win for them.

Please consider meaningful buffs: reduce cooldowns, make the blast harder to dodge, or give his teleport more impact. He has potential, but in his current state, he’s just too easy to shut down.

The one buff i'd give to unknown is basekit undetectable for like 5 seconds after TPing.

Maybe also making survivors weakened on direct UVX contact, but I guess it's up to debate.

But overall I think he is in a good spot. He's a mid killer who has insane clip farming potential because of how much he can reach people in tiles or deal a lot of damage but that is also his downfall making him super punishing if he ######### up, loses 50s or just doesnt utilize all that.

Springtrap is pretty similar to him in that sense. This killer will be getting worse and worse as people figure him out and the only way for him to keep up would be gambling on hail mary throws over tiles and that'd be the point where he'd fall off cuz he lacks snowball potential whatsoever unlike unknown.

have to disagree — Unknown isn’t in a good spot right now, especially in the current matchmaking environment where most teams are experienced and play super safe.

Giving him only basekit Undetectable after TP wouldn’t fix his core issues. His UVX Blast is way too easy to avoid with basic LOS and spacing, and his teleport doesn’t offer real map pressure the way it should. Good survivors just rotate, stack up, and he ends up wasting time for little payoff.

Saying he's "mid with clip potential" ignores the fact that flashy plays aren’t consistent pressure. It’s fun for highlight reels, sure, but in actual matches, you're left gambling on wild shots just to stay in the game — and if that fails, you lose all tempo. Unlike Springtrap, Unknown lacks snowball, chase control, AND setup denial.

He might look decent when someone hits crazy ricochets, but that’s not the norm — it’s the exception. A killer shouldn’t rely on 1-in-10 plays to be viable. He absolutely needs a meaningful buff to keep up as the playerbase gets better at countering him.

I think from a general consensus Unknown is widely considered pretty solid across the board. It's true UVX is pretty easy to dodge with basic game sense. From my own standpoint I'd consider him well-balanced, though it's always nice to hear what ideas players have for him/her.

I agree. If survivors find your clones your preeetty much done for. And UVX is far too unreliable. it sometimes bounces up down left or right, hit the survivor while the shot is airborne then finally when your able to use UVX to damage them the projectile is too slow to enlarge todamage them. I wish uvx created the bubble upon it touching the survivor
