Why are Killer so sweaty in Event mode?
Like holy nothing but hyper tunneling and slugging with 3 slowdowns. Why? Does it just bring out the comp wannabes or something?

Every year for the first few days without fail

I don't believe killers are changing how they play just because its an event. If they play that way in an event that's how they play normally.
12 -
Tunneling and Slugging is definitely more prevalent in the event than normal.
9 -
Because that's his objective and it's the most efficient way to play this game.
-23 -
The two major reasons are that more players are coming back so you have a lot of people that just wanna mess around, whether that's more casual or more mean-spirited, and the other being that Survivors are more likely to focus on the event mechanics and are easier to pick off than usual.

I think its the same as rank reset back in the day. Some players only play during special events.
1 -
That just refers to 0,1% of the kilelrs in events. They just want to make people have less fun. Thats all to it. And thats nothing new.
-1 -
It's sweaty in every mode just gotta accept it
3 -
This question gets asked during every event, the answer is always the same. The majority of people aren't going to completely change how they play just because an event is going on. If they were the type to tunnel and slug normally they most likely won't stop just because there is a shiny new event going on.
3 -
- It's always been like this, I never understood why. maybe they want to take advantage of the fact survivors are "distracted" by the event. I finished the new missions and tonight I'm going on "normal" mode🤣
3 -
It’s every event to be fair 🤣
8 -
Well, the event hard counters Spirit, which is why if I use her for the event, I'm going to be extra sweaty. I can't afford not to.
-9 -
It's always been like that, litterally every event ever & i've been playing 8 years!
I think it was the 4th anniversary, could've been the 3rd, when they first gave out halos (crowns) half the killers litterally jumped on Bubba & face camped anyone who got one (had to escape with them too, while killer just had to collect it)
Swf are usually out in force more too though, all bring cakes ect then try to max out points & bully less experienced killers.
Every event is the same, its more noticeable because more players come back for events & unfortunately that means those players who generally like making people miserable.
All that said its an online game players can play how they want, & will regardless. I've found playing both sides in a way I find fair for both sides usually puts me in a better mood throughout these events even if the opposite side don't always appreciate it!

Events are a vicious circle for sweaty games. Survivors main event BP is from being on a generator when it finishes so they'll want to be on as many gens before they finish so they can get the event BP. They'll try to rush their generator so it can pop and they can hop into another generator before it finishes and they can get event BP from that gen too. Killers then feel more pressure to get kills so they turn up the sweat in their end. Killers start killing faster so survivors try to do gens faster so killers try to kill faster.... it's just a vicious circle that happens every event.

Yea yea we already know

i tried to play chill a single game only to get another lobby with gen monkeys running syringes.
nothing changes no matter how I play so why should I not match the energy?
-3 -
Because as they prove in EVERY event, they tunnel simply because they can, not because they "have" to.
12 -
Nah it's just fact every game has sweaty players and during events there seem to be more. But they make the experience bad for casuals who want to chill. Ideally you put sweat agains't sweat but that does not happen always.
4 -
Did you try going survivor? My games have been triple tunneling at 4/5 gens half of the time, and usually there's some tunneling/camping/slugging at 4/5 gens… so idk Rick
4 -
My first game was a P100 Blight who tunneled someone that was clearly brand new at five gens. Four slowdowns too. Great matchmaking. This match was basically everything wrong with DBD on the survivor side.

See my other response. Events such as the anniversary bring back players that don't play regularly. You also have the trolls that hate the game and will purposely play in a way to upset others just to get posts like this.
What I'm saying is, players are going to play the same as they always do. Killers that play chill in normal queue won't suddenly go full tryhard sweat by clicking on event queue.

It's the same thing on the killer end.

Average DBD Event experience.

The tunneling in the game is currently out of control. I hope the new tunneling mechanic they are working on punishes this behavior significantly because it's ruining my enjoyment of the game (and others). I have thousands of cakes across multiple killers and survivors, but I've chosen not to use them because I don't want to reward that kind of behavior.
9 -
Unfortunately, that's how this game is played and it's not going to change because it's all about being efficient. And it's not just the killers, I got rushed so badly in my first few matches that I already decided to save all my cakes for another time.
-4 -
Why don’t you share some of your gameplay video with us to show us to play killer “the right way”?
-9 -
Stop - we all know that only survivors are allowed to try hard to win
-7 -
But wait - you’re not allowed to criticize survivors for completing gens too quickly because “it’s their only objective” and “it’s totally different than tunneling”
-1 -
It's not about "being efficient" you actively get punished with less BP for rushing games by tunneling and slugging. People just only care about the "win" and until BHVR does something about that nothing will change.
2 -
I don't think they care when I see multiple iridescent addons per match. The economy is currently broken.
1 -
Yeah, I can't wait for them to go overkill with the upcoming anti-tunneling/camping/slugging like they did with the AFK-crow and go-next prevention and DC penalty changes.

Depends on the mode like chaos shuffle is bad because players cant garantue their builds so they bring strong addons and offerings and tend to use more sweaty and stronger strategys for easier win this goes both ways.
-1 -
I see a post like this every time there's an event queue. They should honestly just ban this topic, dbd will ALWAYS be toxic and some people will ALWAYS be sweaty for no reason. I get it's frustrating but there's no point in posting stuff like this.
-1 -
Honestly I don't even wanna be let to leave. Just 8 hook while we finish gens, get downs, let some people heal. The point of the game and mode in general is to have fun, there is no reason why people should be running around tunneling and slugging for 4ks every single game, especially when people aren't running meta builds and are just trying to goof off in a silly mode.
2 -
Personally - I'm not going to be playing "for the win" or sweaty but I really don't care about the event. In fact I don't like the event at all and I'm only playing it for the rewards. I'm not playing harder or easier I'm just playing to get it over with.
Happy for you if you enjoy the event though.

Gotta keep up that 70%+ Blight kill rate! (still can't balance him after 4+ years of being broken)
1 -
Don't call them comp wannabes, you're giving them way too much credit.
5 -
I mean it happens every event. Either the regular players are sweating harder than normal or it's the ones that only events bringing up the average. Same thing tends to happen with survivors too.

The only time I see people who "change" how they play DBD Events are people who intentionally go out of their way to make the game miserable for others. Like bleeding people out or intentionally playing to make Killers upset, etc.
Even still, give it a 2-3 days and they will move on, they always do.
6 -
Good thing the Steam sale started today so we can all go buy and play CIv like the devs told us to do when we're frustrated with DBD! /s
2 -
They should've worked on fixing the MMR like 8 years ago. It is one of the first thing any game, competitive or not, should have as a balance so that type of thing does not happen. This alone is what makes a lot of people not want to play.
2 -
There are a lot of sad people that come out to spoil the fun during events. I still remember some Bubba named Cake Ruiner or something similar, bringing iri mori, Franklins and tunnelmori people out of the first hook (back when you were able to mori after one hook)…so yeah, even if regulars play the same style, ######### come out and make it bad for other people

I played 10 matches as survivor. None of us were taking it to seriously. Gens weren't being stressed. We wanted to interact with the event stuff and just look around, get acclimated, and have fun. All ten matches were absolute stomps. The killers ground us into the ground, often with 0 to 1 gens done. I feel like you could maybe ease up during fun stuff, but some of these people act like they've never had fun in their lives.
I'd like to engage with the event, but if it's going to be miserable I might just do enough for quests and stick to regulale mode. Or I'll hope on killer and be chill.
