Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is it too late to balance the event? (Small rant)

It's getting extremely hard to play survivor during the event. Every game feels the same, the killer tunnels out the first survivor with Pain Res, Grim Embrace and Dead Man's Switch, because they've got insane anniversary powers that help them with it. I am surprised how the devs have ignored the feedback from last year, since a lot of issues are the same. I try to be a chill survivor, I bring a medkit with no add ons, and run chill perks like Dramaturgi, Pebble, Autodidact etc, but I have felt it necessary to start running stronger perks like DS/DH to try and counteract this sweat.

Not only does killers have a power to counter Anniversary Pallets, but they can also just run Enduring to nullify them. Why aren't they special pallets that are immune to perks? Survivors barely get any distance anyways, even if they even manage to stun the killer.

Remote hooks are even stronger than last year. Now survivors don't just get sent to a random nearby hook, killers get to decide where to go. So not only do killers spare precious seconds going to a hook, they can now also easily choose to make every hook a Scourge Hook, completely nullifying the risk of bringing a Scourge Hook perk. It's not until now I realized how the game is also balanced through killers having to pick up and carry survivors to a hook manually. They really should've made it so, you could use Remote Hook, but as a trade off, you wouldn't get any hook related perk activated. Right now everyone's just running Pain Res, Dead Man's Switch and Grim Embrace and why shouldn't they? They get insane value, Grim Triggers immediately if you send survivor far enough away. It's kinda insane, cause imagine if survivors had a remote unhook? Just get within 32 meters of a survivor and press Q to remote unhook? It'd completely throw off the balance of the game, but apparently it's ok if killers can do it.

Another thing I can't believe they ignored was Press Q to Outplay Pallets. Just make survivors drop a pallet, go one way, press Q and then turn around to win every pallet. It feels awful to play against as survivor.

While survivors powers are small buffs(except the niche case of blocking a God window), killers powers are insane buffs allowing them to save so much time in both breaking pallets and hooking and it's just insane. As a solo survivor, I already struggle enough, but I'd usually escape every third game, worst case scenario. Now I go on like 10 games losing streaks. I know I could just go to back to normal mode, but I like the chaos of the mid game modifiers and it's a nice change of pace from normal DbD. I could also just go play killer, but I am getting discouraged from the (understandably so) 5-7 minute killer queues. I know this is the last masquerade and devs probably don't wanna spend time trying to balance it through a hotfix, for the remaining 2 and a half weeks. It just baffled me how they completely ignored last year's feedback

No and it's literally the final time this event is happening just play it or don't

    • yes, the event is very killer sided, but it's just an event, it won't last long. and if you really don't appreciate it, you can play the "normal game". I only did the challenges and went back to the normal queue

Well the remote hooks is not always that good it takes more time now to use than last event and there is often hook right next to you. I think the problem is survivors event powers are quite weak.

Tunneling is problem in normal mode too.

Most events have been survivor sided, so lets let the killers have this 1 thing.

Yeah it sucks. I have gotten tunneled multiple times and i mean 5 gen tunneled multiple times. Yeah it sucks that we mostly see that build you meantioned on the killers, but it is the strongest gen defense build there is, cant blame them for using it.

Mostly my biggest issue is the 5 gen tunneling. I don't mind dying in a game if i get to play the game but im not sure if we have newer players or whats going on.

Consider it a turnaround from the blood moon event

TBH, i just feel that the pallet break powers are too strong, since the killer can "wi-fi" break the pallet and zone you while they are moving. If they ever recicle this for an event i hope the pallet break takes longer and that the survivor can still vault the pallet while its breaking.

The remote hook is strong but not overpowered, just absurdly time saving.

But as people have said, considering what we had in the Bloodmoon event - i've completed gens in 30s - , no problem this event being like this. When i get too stressed or bored from the event i just go to the normal queue since they are very fast anyway.

Killer powers are better you can get scorge hook more offten ore hoo someone on the edge of the map and break pallets on second run around loop forcing survivor to get zoned true but survivors are four so their power on this event cant be same match as killer that makes sence I guess, some killers are super bad for one use pallets like bubba because you are forced to wait for the drop but you cant wait long or your power runs out and as survivor you can make picking up for killer with background player hell or bock strong windows and like the one in the main on garden of joy.

True that 30-40 secons gen was something different and no regression or killer power worked only but on one gen, idk why but it seems devs always find some way to nerf pig.

An event should not be "sided" to begin with tho. :/

Like I get it, some of them have been Survivor-sided, but I dont really see that as a valid excuse, instead events should be pushed to be fun AND fair for both sides.

Hey i'm all for balance, but lets face the fact many of the past events and even 2v8 is very survivor sided.

I would love them to give us balanced events but it doesnt seem to be happening.

Did you forget about the blood moon one or what its called, with new blood gens and blood pump that was survivor sided as hell tbh but clearly you play one side little too much.

Depends which killer you play and if you are going against a 4-man SWF. The reason i'm saying this is because in EU which is where i play it is nothing but sweats on both sides and the same 4 killers every time.

I honestly feel the same But on the other Side. I barely get any Hooks because Survivors can Block Windows and Remake Pallets. I've been on a Losing streak as Killer. One it can a Skill issue but I feel that the Event just gives both sides to much BS for it to be fair which it isn't. Two I hate the Event with a passion. Killers shouldn't be able to TP hook a survivor and Survivors shouldn't be able to remake pallets infinity. Try playing Killer on The Game Map or known as Pallet Land and where Survivors can Just rebuild every pallet on the map if the can. I know the remade pallets break as there used but still. As Survivor I hate being TP Hooked across the map

    The Event Just Sucks

They never ever changed any event or mode, no matter the feedback given. They had one full year to make changes to this event, but they decided to not do it. 90% of all events and modes are horrendous to play as survivor, and devs just dont care.
