I guess there's not really a way to distinguish an actual game crash from a DC, but yeah…
Timeout punish for actual game crash just now.. Sent the crash report.
Hmm, perhaps if you send the crash report, that can be matched to the player sending it, and NOT give them a dc penalty. That would actually work if the server checks.

    Anyone could purposely crash their game so not it's not possible to distinguish whether it was genuine or not. Ether way it disrupts the match for the other 4 players regardless of which side they are on. You got a 5min time out, it could have been worse.

    I agree it is a bit of a harsh punishment, however, considering that there are ways to crash your own game as well as cheats that can force servers to crash, its the only fair punishment that can be put into place where everyone is treated the same.
