Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Springtraps Security Doors

Did the developers intend for Survivors to use the security doors to travel frequently because I don't think I've seen a single survivor use them to travel. I barely see survivors use the camera feature also because I don't think the Aura read lasts longer and the killer can just go in a door to remove it. The camera should also reveal the auras of Survivors to other Survivors if spotted.

Maybe as an incentive to get Survivors to use the door would then have the door be disabled for X amount of seconds for all players. Similar to turning off Onryō TVs.

I think BHVR did intend for both sides to use it, but they fell, again, into the trap of making interacting with the Killer's special thing a bad idea. I mean, I know when I play Springtrap, I'm using the doors often, and I know other Springtrap players do it too - and seem to always come straight to me (I know it's not targeted and just random chance, and I'm really unlucky, but boy does it not feel good any time it happens). So, why would Survivors bother using it? You immediately get grabbed if you go through the door at the same time as Springtrap, meaning the only safe time to use them is when he's actively chasing someone else. But at that point, you should already be at a generator and working on it while hoping the person being chased turns into a looping god.

In short, it's a good idea that, like a lot of what BHVR does, was poorly implemented.

I think people use it, you just never realize it. The major problem with the doors, is because of the survivor U.I telling you when your teammate is being chased… you know it's a free TP you can get away with.

Like it's so hilariously easy to avoid getting caught in there that it makes it borderline impossible for the springtrap.

Teammate in chase? TP is free.

Teammate not in chase? Too risky, don't TP.

Yeah TP while teammate is in Chase is the safest option another thing is survivors can travel freely like Springtrap can. To my knowledge each door is connected by a number and are one way trips for survivor.

I think people underestimate how good the wallhacks it can give your team are. When a teammate is getting chased and you know which door they are roughly at, you should use it to spot him and give them wallhacks on the killer. This makes it super easy to loop.

    Oh, for sure.

The problem is that, as always, this is way more viable for SWF than solo Q.

It's not exclusive to SWF, obviously, but most games it's best for solo Q players to just stick to gens instead of looking for Springtrap.
