Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

When are you gonna get rid of hackers?

this has been going way out of control, way to many people using speed hacks on generators to pop them off like candy left and right less than 10 seconds apart each, and you guys forcing us to play against them with these ridiculous rules, that if you leave due to no matter what the reason is, even is its cuz of hackers, you get banned and deranked, and you people wondering why the game is dying?

its making me not want to play it anymore, with all these quitting rule and cheaters ruining the game, this is just unfair, and making me hate it even more, more cheaters i run into making me hate it, but forcing me to play against them through out the whole game is burning me out on it, im about to quit and delete this game like i did with call of duty due to the same reason, you guys aren't even banning these people, you did when the cheats was clearly obvious when they was able to shoot 1 side of the map to the other, but ain't doing jack squat to the ones that using subtle cheats, they ain't as bad but still, its unfair, and making it very unplayable, but if cheats is what you devs wants, cheats you got for sure, i guess the only way to deal with it, is to get cheats of my own or delete it for good, and i don't have money to buy cheats, so deleting it is, this is what happens when you allow cheating to get so much out of hand, i run into speed hackers almost every match now

I agree, there is more and more hackers, always on survivor side, and as you said they never get banned because other survivors NEVER report them, they just go along with it, and enjoy Tbagging you at exit gates even if they clearly saw their teammates cheating.

There is nothing you can do except take your loss, that will lower your MMR, so you can stomp the next lobby, it may help ;)

    Or uninstall the game, yeah.

EDIT : Just played a game, playing survivor, and got another hacker. He was playing normally until he got hooked twice, then he activated a lot of hacks : speed hack, jump hack, skill check hack, basically everything. I asked people in the end lobby to report him, but got no answer at all, so I don't know if anyone did it.

EDIT 2 : Another game, another hacker. I took a screenshot, I was hooked in the basement, and he hid under the ground to hide from the killer. Asked people to report him, no answer whatsoever.

I have a cheater in almost every game now.

BHVR needs to do something ASAP, it is getting out of hand.

Well we have to waint and see if something changes with anticheat but truth is anticheat more attacks normal players by not loading their game than cheaters (for years). I still hope devs are against cheaters and not with mindset if he buys skin then he pays and is clean.

I mean like half year ago getting that flying and scaeming dwight was rare to see and funny, bigger part of cheaters pool the subtle ones tried to hide their cheats but now from fnaf chapter they are on and they dont hide them anymore just speeding and teleporting in your face or doing gens with zero progress in 30 seconds after you checked them no shame.

Exactly, I wouldn't mind the silly flying dwight, but those hackers are just a pain in the a to face

not super well versed on anti cheats available but they need something stronger than whatever they have.

i just don't understand why this is happening, they was doing good before, i was getting messages left and right of cheaters getting banned, and they tell me why they get banned too, but now, their anti cheat went back to being garbage, i swear they need battle eye anti cheat, as far as i know, battle eye is the strongest anticheat, if they started with battle eye, maybe they wouldn't have financial problem from the start, and have alot more players, and less quitters, thats why we even have quitters in the first place, cuz they experienced so much cheating that they no longer have the gaming spirit to play against them, ill say, instead of having these penalties, hit people where the problem truly exist, the cheaters, thats the main source of quitters, cuz, when you run into so many back to back, or every single day, it burns you out, where you no longer have the spirit, stop and get rid of cheaters, it gets rid of quitters, cuz it would give them confident enough to play a game without stressing out playing against cheaters, where theirs no reason to quit, i mean, punishing us for something that the cheaters has caused is wrong, and having terrible anticheat is also the cause, its like its easier for them to ban quitters than cheaters, so they just go with it, and say screw it, like yea, instead of going after the cheaters, they go after the victims

Even if a truly effective server-side anti-cheat were implemented… which frankly feels about as likely as winning the lottery…
I suspect the outcome would mirror what we've seen with the DC and AFK systems: a flood of complaints from players claiming false bans, simply because the number of subtle cheaters is likely far higher than most assume.

At this point, cheating feels almost woven into the DNA of DBD → like rust in an old machine. You can repaint the surface, but the core issue remains. That’s not meant to sound cynical for its own sake, but rather to reflect the reality many of us see match after match.

They said on their stream before the anniversary that they are already starting/doing something in this regard, I hope that this is not empty chatter and they will really make an anti-cheat that will finally ban these bitches for ruining peoples games

However, I am again wary that this does not start shooting innocent people, as they already did for the sake of the tick with the "anti go-next" penalty

The variety of cheats is simply amazing:

They can literally overload the server so that everyone's ping starts to increase 😑
Survs can become invisible (probably the cheat uses the vekna's eye mechanics)
They can take away pips from your rank 😑
They can increase your DC penalty time 😑
They can increase the surv hitbox (probably using the twins perk mechanics)?
They can start spamming an action like killing survivors with the entity, like when the collapse ends
What makes the game crash for everyone 😑
They can block the killer's hook so (s)he can't hook survivor 😑
They can increase vault speed 😑
    They can insta escape
They can insta repair a generator
    And a bunch more…

Basically from the list - we can state that in this garbage game there is no anti-cheat in principle, because most cheats use game mechanics for which there are simply no basic checks on whether the perk is present at all for the player or restrictions and verification with perks for the speed of vaulting for the player, as well as haste without the corresponding effect

It's true that they mentioned on stream that action is being taken… but realistically, we’re probably looking at another glorified ban wave: a one-time sweep based on updated parameters, not a sustainable system.

What would truly change the landscape is real-time behavioral analysis, but that requires consistent infrastructure, competence, and long-term commitment. As of now, there's little to suggest that kind of system is in active development.

Until then, it's likely just another cycle: tweak, detect, ban,.. wait for cheats to adapt → repeat.

There is a difference between "there are cheaters", and in DBD's case "the game is rampant with cheaters". Its absolutely horrific that I have to think every lobby I get before loading even starts, "will this lobby include cheaters?". Like some others have said before me, Almost every match at the top bracket, you get them A LOT. And I rly am talking about the pure blatant ones here, teleporting/flying in your face type of cheaters…

I'm pretty sure either BHVR is way behind on bans, doesn't care, OR they just do it quarterly… Whichever of the 3 options it is, it is absolutely equally horrible for players to deal with. Cause I monitor multiple accounts myself, some steam accounts, they still get daily comments about their cheatings, months after my official report, hence I know they aren't being banned, even tho I sent in blatant video evidence including their steam ID.

Because of the above, the problem is only getting worse, and people such as myself stop caring too, and thus stop reporting and sending in evidence… cause its just a waste of time anyway. Its just a vicious cycle of making the problem bigger by the day. BHVR simple does not do enough to combat cheating, and it needs to be said over and over, until something is done.

Cheaters won't ever be fully gotten rid of in any multiplayer game. They're like herpes, we just have to live with this fact in mind.

sadly not even presenting 10 minutes of video evidence is enough to have them removed...

Tbh, if I were a hacker, this is the kind of hacking I would do. Make a lot of funny actions and such here and then, and then play to game as normal. No gen rushing, instant slugging, etc.

Might-as-well try to have everybody have fun with it if I’m gonna ruin the match for everybody else anyway.

You dont need everyone in the lobby to report a hacker. 1 actual report will suffice. This means reporting it in game, as well as going to the dbd website and reporting it there. I dont know if Xbox does this, but I know on PS5 at least the last hour of gameplay is saved at any given time. This makes it easy to grab footage of the hacking and edit it down to size. I've done this myself and got a message ingame later on that actions were taken.

You must live in a region that has a lot of hackers. I too run into hackers but it is months between them.

  • LordGlint
    LordGlint Member Posts: 9,779

I've done it. The main issue is the sheer amount of extra free accounts that were made from the Epic store. If the devs cleared out all the accounts created during that time that haven't even been used for 1 match, alot of the hacking problem will be gone.

I actually got the game then I think hahaha

but yeah, it'd be great if they deleted the ones that havent been used

  • LordGlint

Obviously alot of ACTUAL ppl got the game then... but there was also massive amounts of bots creating accounts. You can see videos of cheaters getting banned, then swapping to an obviously new account that tells them to play the tutorial when they start it up. If an account hasn't been used a single time after like 5 years of its creation date...it should be obvious thats not a real person.

I had them rarely but in this event I got 3 games in the row which is annoying as hell and their teammates dont mind them at all.

every account I've reported got ban. But like LordGlint said, they have many cheap ways of gaining another account. Also there are ways around hardware bans so those don't work against dedicated cheaters out to ruin the game.
