LOVE AND CEMENT CHAPTER

Lore:

Dual Killer Concept – The Guardian and the Grudge

“They mocked her. He tried to shield her. But grief makes poor mortar for memory... and the house remembers everything.”

Horace Nebbercracker was once a reclusive but kind-hearted man who lived at the edge of town with his beloved wife, Constance. She had suffered her whole life, mocked and ostracized for her appearance. The circus had treated her as a monster; the world had made her believe it.

To protect her, Horace built a fortress of wood, stone, and love. But the whispers of children pierced deeper than brick. One Halloween, a group of boys dared to provoke her again. Constance, in a fit of panic and rage, confronted them from the porch. The ground beneath her gave way, and she plummeted into the unfinished basement.

She survived the fall—barely—but the house groaned with her pain. Horace rushed to the scene, heart pounding with fear and guilt. Through the dust and dim light, he heard only her cries: "Hide me… they’ll laugh again." He obeyed.

He poured the cement.

Too late, he realized what he had done.

Over the years, the house began to change. It creaked when it shouldn’t. Its windows wept condensation even in dry weather. It breathed. And Horace remained, captive to his shame, guarding its perimeter like a penitent monk.

It was that blend of protection and pain, love and loathing, that caught the Entity’s gaze.

One mist-soaked evening, the ground beneath the Nebbercracker house split—not from decay, but from invitation. Tendrils of shadow wrapped around the crumbling foundation, pulling not just the building but the anguish that lived inside into a realm far older and crueler.

There, in the Fog, they roam as one: Constance, the spiteful fury, and Horace, her eternal guardian. A house divided against the world… and now, unleashed.

Killer: “the guardian”:

Power: “Foundation of Regret”

Horace carries a rusted cement disperser, retrofitted with pipes and valves. He lays trails of Hardening Cement, and when the time is right, he will show you his Grave Priority.

🧱 Power Core Update – Cement Trail

💀 “Foundation of Regret” – Cement Effect v2.0

Horace lays a trail of hardening cement behind him, up to 30 meters at a time. The trail takes 6 seconds to fully solidify, then becomes hazardous.

🎯 Cement Stack Mechanic

  • When Survivors walk or run over hardened cement, they gain a Cement Stack (maximum of 3).
  • Each stack reduces movement speed by 4% (up to 12% total).
  • Stacks linger indefinitely but can be removed with water or specific item interactions.

💦 New Item: Water Blaster

“Clown’s bottle meets flashlight—with consequences.”

📦 Item Slot & Pickup

  • Spawns: 8 Water Blasters per trial, scattered across map hooks and lockers.
  • Slot: Uses the Extra Item Slot like Flashbangs or EMPs.
  • Durability: 2 Charges. Each blast or full cleanse reduces durability by 1. Getting hit while holding one also reduces its durability by 1.

🔧 Uses:

  1. Spray Mode (Secondary Action Button)
    • Aims like a flashlight. Temporarily obscures Horace’s vision similar to Clown's gas if it hits him in a chase.
    • Can interrupt his Cement Trail placement briefly (1s disruption).
  2. Cleanse Mode (Main Action Button)
  • Self: Slowly removes one Cement Stack at a time.
  • Teammate: Aim and remove cement stacks from them directly.
  • Removing ALL 3 stacks at once consumes 1 durability.

💡 Survivors now must decide: use offensively to disorient, or defensively to cleanse.

🔩 Grave Priority

  • Horace can remotely hook a downed Survivor directly onto the basement Scourge Hook from anywhere on the map.
  • Cooldown: 90 seconds

💀 The house takes what it remembers. And it never forgets.

😢 The Mourning Wail (revised)

  • When a Survivor enters the basement, after a 15-second delay, the spectral voice of Constance weeping echoes globally.
  • Horace becomes Undetectable for 20 seconds.
  • Can be triggered once per basement visit, with an internal cooldown.

🎯 NEW INTERACTIVE OBJECT – “The Palatal Node”

Inspired by the fleshy “uvula” orb in the film’s ceiling-mouth.

  • Located on the ceiling of the basement, above the Scourge Hook.
  • Survivors can use a Water Blaster to squirt water at the Node, initiating the following effects:

💧 Consequences of Hitting the Node:

  1. Cancels Horace’s Undetectable if Constance's Wail is active.
  2. Dissolves all Cement Trails that Horace placed before this activation.
  3. Consumes 1 durability from the Water Blaster.

⏳ Can only be triggered once every 50 seconds and requires direct aim, like a flashlight save (interrupting this action still removes one durability charge).

💡 This gives survivors a high-stakes clutch play to deny pressure—if they dare enter the shrine and face the weeping presence.

🕯️ Alternate Win Mechanic – “The House Settles”

“It begins with silence. Then the creak of boards. Then stillness—settling into something deeper than death.”

🎯 Trigger Condition:

If all four Survivors accumulate 3 Cement Stacks simultaneously, the house stirs... and The House Settles begins.

  • A guttural moan echoes through the map as cement pours from vents, walls, and cracks.
  • A 40-second countdown starts, visible to all players.
  • The atmosphere changes: fog turns thick and gray, the sky darkens, and the house lets out a long, cracking sigh.

During the 40 Seconds:

Survivors must cleanse at least one Cement Stack (on themselves or others) using Water Blasters to halt the collapse.

  • The flood will completely reset only if someone removes a stack before the timer ends.
  • Cleansing consumes Water Blaster durability as usual.
  • If no one removes a single stack in time, the Entity completes its design...

💀 Outcome – The House Settles:

  • The entire map locks under gray concrete. Survivors freeze mid-stride, cement climbing their limbs.
  • A haunting cutscene plays: Horace walks out from the fog, whispering, “It’s quiet now, Connie,” before kneeling as shadows envelop the scene.
  • Match ends immediately. Killer wins.

🕯️ Alternate Survivor Win Condition – “Breaking the Foundation”

“What was built in grief can crumble under courage.”

🏁 Activation – During the Endgame Collapse (EGC)

  1. Cement Pallets
    • All pallets broken during the match are replaced by cement block pallets—thick, cracked slabs representing the emotional weight of the past.
    • These pallets function just like standard ones: they can be dropped to stun the killer during chases.
  2. Fracturing the Guardian
    • If Horace is stunned three times by these cement pallets during the EGC:
    • He enters a state of collapse, both physically and spiritually.
    • His abilities—Cement Trail and Grave Priority—become disabled.
    • Cement leaks from his body, and his movement becomes sluggish, reflecting a man crumbling beneath his guilt.
  3. Drowning Constance
  • After the third cement stun, a Survivor must enter the basement and use a Water Blaster to hit the Palatal Node above the Scourge Hook.
  • Doing so drowns Constance’s spectral presence, silencing her influence and finalizing the alternate win condition.

🎬 Alternate Ending Cutscene – “And the House Settled”

  • The basement begins to rumble—dust falling from the ceiling, small fissures crawling up the walls.
  • Horace kneels beside the lone Scourge Hook, holding a water-streaked portrait of Constance to his chest.
  • He mouths a silent apology as the Entity’s claw descends—not to strike him, but to take the foundation he built.
  • The entire basement is torn from the map, dragged into the sky like a coffin with no burial ground.
  • Survivors stand in silence as the fog swallows the wound left behind.

End screen message:“The Entity carried the lovers into darkness.”

Perks:

🌾 CURSE: “Constance’s Garden”

"They stepped on her lawn. Now the lawn steps on them."

📘 Perk Type: Curse

A Curse Perk inflicts a long-lasting supernatural effect that only survivors can break by performing a unique ritual action.

💀 Effect:

After hooking a Survivor, activate this perk to conjure Constance’s Garden, a supernatural zone where nature grips tight.

  • A 32-meter radius around the Killer becomes the Cursed Garden Zone for as long as the curse remains active.
  • Survivors in this area suffer a constant 5% Hindered status (movement speed reduction).
  • Additionally, all item consumption (charges from Medkits, Flashlights, Toolboxes, etc.) is increased by 50% while inside the zone.

Cooldown:

  • The Killer can activate this curse once every 60 seconds.
  • If Survivors manage to break the curse, an additional 140 seconds is added to the cooldown.

🌸 Breaking the Curse – Flower Pot Ritual

  • A single cursed flower pot spawns in a random location within the Cursed Zone.
  • Its aura is revealed to all Survivors when within 10 meters.
  • Any Survivor can perform a one-time 8-second ritual interaction with the pot to pull the flower and break the curse.

While interacting:

  • The Survivor cannot move, hide or crouch.
  • Loud grunts of effort are made.
  • If interrupted, the progress resets.

🔚 Once broken, the Cursed Zone and all its effects end, and the perk enters its extended cooldown.

🪞 CURSE: “Dormant Watcher”

“It never moves. But it sees everything.”

📘 Perk Type: Curse

This Curse manipulates Survivor awareness of totems and creates a phantom-safe zone—where the trap isn’t the totem itself, but the false sense of security.

🌌 Effect:

After hooking a Survivor, a 32-meter radius zone is established around the Killer as the Cursed Perimeter.

Within this zone:

  • The Killer sees the auras of all unblessed and unhexed totems in blue.
  • Any Hex Totems inside this area appear to Survivors as normal, unlit totems.
  • Survivors receive no notification upon entering this cursed zone.

💀 Survivors may attempt to cleanse a Hex Totem thinking it's dull, wasting time or unintentionally leaving it untouched.

🌸 Counterplay – The Vigil Bloom

  • A flower pot spawns randomly within the Cursed Zone, identical in mechanic to Constance’s Garden.
  • Its aura becomes visible to Survivors within 10 meters.
  • Survivors can perform an 8-second ritual interaction to pull the flower and break the curse.

Cooldown & Usage

  • Starts charged and with a 60-second cooldown after the first use.
  • If the flower pot is used to cleanse the curse, the perk enters a cooldown of 140 additional seconds.

💢 PERK: “Seismic Outcry”

“You threw stones at a quiet man. Now watch what crumbles.”

⚙️ Effect:

After the Killer is stunned or blinded 4 times in a single trial (by pallet, flashlight, Water Blaster, or any similar source):

  • Seismic Outcry activates.
  • For the next 100 seconds, the Killer's perk cooldowns (including activation delays and internal timers) are reduced by 40%.
  • Additionally, the Survivor who triggered the fourth stun or blind is inflicted with Incapacitated for 35 seconds.

🔒 Incapacitated Survivors cannot perform most interactions: repairing, healing, cleansing, blessing, or unlocking.

Survivor perks: 🎧DJ Walters – Dwight Fairfield

🪁 “Red String Theory”

“You think that generator’s safe? It’s a thread—tug it, and the whole thing unravels.”

Effect:After you cleanse a totem or take a protection hit, this perk activates for 60 seconds.

  • While active, when any Survivor is revealed by the Killer’s aura-reading ability (e.g. BBQ, Nowhere to Hide, etc.), your aura is shown instead.
  • If you’re in a chase when this happens, gain 3% Haste for 3 seconds.

💥 This perk deactivates after a successful aura-redirection, and must be recharged with another protection hit or totem cleanse.

📚 Jenny – Mikaela Reid Outfit Perk

✉️ “Fabricated Permit”

She talks her way past gatekeepers. Even the Fog listens... sometimes.

Effect:After completing a generator, you gain 1 Permit Token.

  • While holding a token, you can interact with any exit gate and begin opening it—regardless of how many generators have been completed.
  • Gate opens at 20/25/30% normal speed and halts automatically at 99% progress.
  • While interacting with the gate via this perk, your aura is revealed to the Killer.
  • Using this ability consumes the token.

Penalty:The next time you are injured, you become Broken for 180 seconds.

📸 Skully – Jeff Johansen Outfit Perk

🎥 “Live from the Fog”

“The cameras are always rolling. Even when the screams aren’t rehearsed.”

Effect:Start the trial with 1 Vlog Token.

  • When you unhook a Survivor within 8 meters of the Killer, you gain Endurance for 10 seconds.
  • After use, the perk is deactivated until you either:• Open a chest, or• Cleanse or bless a totem.
  • Completing either action restores 1 Vlog Token, up to 2 tokens per match.
