New Player Help - ideas about looping & informing about killer powers
hello!! Since the FNAF chapter, I have got a bunch of my friends to play more of DBD. However, I feel like there is just so much to learn that the tutorial doesn't help with. While I know there is so much information out there on YouTube and such, do we know if the dev's have any plan of revamping or adding to the player help/tutorial area?
Honestly the biggest thing is explaining blind timing, stun timing, what "looping" means, and what's best to do against specific killers. It doesn't even have to be insanely detailed but little things like "don't group up against legion" or "don't immediately cleanse against plague" ? Sometimes we're mid game and I'm trying to spew all the information I have but my friend is mid chase/confused and just trying to run away.
The biggest two from everything I listed though really is Looping, and understanding killer powers.
My Idea for Killer Powers: Maybe for new comers there's more in game help the first few times they play against a killer other than the message that says you're going against them? Like if we're going against Dracula, maybe something comes up on the side saying "Can send a pillar of fire in a straight line that can damage you" "can shape shift into 3 forms" just something quick to help them know what they're going up against.
My idea for looping: Mentioning that most killers ARE faster than survivors base kit and WILL catch up if you are just running in a straight line. Mentioning the killers that do not follow that have powers that make reaching you easier in other ways (I.e nurse can blink through walls and hag can teleport to traps). Also trying to reframe that being downed and hooked is NOT a bad thing - that's apart of the game and the time someone is on hook should be seen as a resource.
Lots of yapping here, but does this feel like it would help anyone new you guys have had play with you? I have about 700 hours so most of this stuff I know pretty easily when joining a match, but my friends are 5-40 hours maybe and bought their favorite stranger things characters cause it was cool they were in the game! lol so it's definitely a different mindset they're coming into the game with when we play together.

- I dont think they will ever do anything different to "help" survivors new to the game. I recommend you play killers (all of them, even if you dont like some of them), learn mechanics and then transfer the "knowledge of each killer" when you play survivor.

Def agree that is super helpful! How come you don't think they won't add anything new? Purely just asking :) thanks for the reply!

- Because they have more "care" and dedication regarding killer gameplay (in fact you can try every killer in a private session against bots). I have never heard the Devs talk about tutorial improvements... which is very strange for me because currently the survivors' tutorial is really poor

It would be nice to have a killer tutorial which allows players to test any killer against 1 survivor in a small arena. Having that could allow people who wish to play survivor to still dip into killers to understand how their power works, understand them a little, and then use that knowledge to survive better against those killers.

I could maybe, possibly get on board with this if there wasn't already an overabundance of killers queuing up, and if players were given all killers by default instead of having to grind dozens of hours or pay real money in order to get all of them.
