Invocation perks

I really like the concept of these perks but we can all admit that it’s too risky to run for the reward given. I think that’s as a buff to these perks, maybe instead of being broken permanently, it lasted for a limited time. I think 2 minutes is perfect. Just wanted opinions on this and if you disagree I would love to hear why. Thank you

So id say the broken aspect is worth it for sables invocation as its like bringing 8 brand new parts, for the price of the person having to be stealthy (and probly use an injured genrush build). Its like a survivor bringing a 1 use bomb against the killer that can't get rid of the effect once its used.

Meanwhile tauries invocation is like splashing water at the killers face while becoming exposed for the rest of the round as it barely does anything productive. Ive had 1 round where it helped some people loop the killer longer and escape but of course i was alredy dead for it .

Either way both invocations are like a super weapon the survivors can bring out that can't be reversed at the cost of one person being more vulnerable in chase. So it seems fair enough to me so far

You don't get the benefit from three of those though, and they can't stack like normal ones could. They're spread out, making them less impactful. The time it takes to undertake the ritual makes it flatly inefficient, as it's 60 seconds of work for 50 seconds of value. You're just wasting time and getting perma-broken on top.

Invocations just need to be scaled down, in both price and reward. High risk, high reward stuff is just a balancing nightmare and is never going to fly, either pissing off the killer players or ending up uselessly undertuned like they are now.

I only ever used either invocation when I was trying for adept on both Sable and Taurie and convinced myself it didn’t really count if I wasn’t using the neat new mechanics. Beyond those string of failures and 2 successes I have not touched invocations again - they’d have to be OP to be worth it to me way down in solo queue.

+ due to the broken status you basically cut the Chase Time in half for that Survivor.

I do actually use them often as i have fun running broken builds. And sometimes even the killer is like "how were the gens flying that fast!? Oh.." in the end game chat. If you manage to stay out of sight and on objectives with sables invocation and other injured speed perks (for example hyperfocus / this is not happening / whatever that 9%faster speed while injured one is ) all with a toolbox and brand new part, that killer almost has to make sure you are constantly going down or the generators really do go pretty quick. Still not sure about tauries invocation tho its not nearly as worth the risk as sables.

yeah i definitely noticed that sables was way stronger than Tauries. I think you make a good argument for sables perk being strong but something needs to change for treacherous crows. I just feel like survivors have such underrated mechanics such as boons (nowadays) and invocations that are underutilised because they are just too risky.

I like the idea of invocations more than I like them in practice. Make them too effective, god forbid meta, and killers are going to complain about having to regularly check basement to make sure nobody is in there praying to the holy man upstairs that they get to pop 5 gens at once.

Make them overall not very impactful and they're literally just wasted perks.

Right now I barely notice them; by the time spiders goes off i've already been pressuring gens and getting hooks while 1 survivor is suspiciously absent not doing anything for an extended period of time. Then by the time they're back up from the ######### basement i'm already at such an advantage that the time they shaved off gens doesn't really matter.

I think they're a fun idea but they're just really tough to effectively balance around and unless BHVR gets really creative they're going to remain more of a failed concept than anything.

I think invocations would be better if they delayed notifying the killer until a bit after their completion to make them less of a throw to use on certain maps like Wreckers or against mobility killers.

the crows one could also remove the terror radius requirement tbh.

The broken aspect is fine, the problem is that the other effects should be stronger

Spiders should decrease a little more charges

Crows should reveal the killer's aura for at least 5 seconds

And they should introduce a new Invocation that rebuilds all broken pallets

Spiders main problems is getting wasted on a timely mass gen blocking perk going off, which happens more often with how popular Grim Embrace and Thrilling Tremors (post buff) are.
