Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

50% kill/escape rate is the objectively ideal balance of DBD whether you like it or not, lil bro.

And my position is that the OP is incorrect, and most others agree based on the responses here, my friend. I'm not looking to start an argument, just explain my position. The facts are most people agree 60/40 is balanced, the desire to make it 50/50 is imbalanced for the type of game DBD is (we have evidence Killers did not want to play when the game was 50/50, meaning the only time Killer is fun is WITH a slight imbalance - blame the Devs for that), and the Devs do not want it to be a 50/50 balance.

I wonder how different the community would feel on this if from the word go, the balance had been 60/40 and not 50/50… before the 60/40 shift. Would Survivors be okay and just accept it, or would they want a 50/50 balance? Would Killers feel less entitled to 4ks since it's the easy mode? Would the community be better off as a whole?

You are certainly NOT guaranteed two deaths per trial. I've said this before to people in these forums, hyperbole DOES NOT help when you are trying to have a debate, or discussion about any topic. Making hyperbolic statements such as "Guaranteed two deaths per trial." makes it difficult to believe you. I'm not 100% sure what you're 2nd line of text is supposed to mean, but if you're saying every survivor has less than a 50% escape rate that is objectively untrue. Finally, let's be honest general outcries are FAR from objective. I'm not trying to berate you or anything of the sort. I was just hoping you had some kind of objective metric for which you were making your claim.

He's obviously referring to the fact that every killer has an average kill rate well above 50%. The game is balanced so that killers win more than they lose, by design, so it's actually, on average, over 2 kills guaranteed per match, assuming you play with average skill level against survivors of the same skill level. Of course, sometimes you get better or worse RNG, better or worse opponents, but at the end of the day killer role is pampered generously relative to survivor in terms of the agency the player is given to win. I can't even take most killer mains complaints seriously because while they will go on and on about how a specific nerf to killer or buff to survivor is a terrible thing, they always ignore the reality that killer role is inherently OP and that these nerfs only level the playing field, making for fairer and more engaging matches.

Every single Survivor grouping (Solo, Duo, Trio and 4--man) at both All MMR and High MMR have a sub 50% Escape Rate.

By design, BHVR wants two Survivors to die in the average trial. If we look on Nightlight, huge grain of salt, 2K'S are the least likely outcome. 4Ks are the most common and 0Ks and 3Ks are about the same. 1Ks are also relatively uncommon, but not so much as 2Ks.
