Can't play the game on xbox after the new patch

So I've been gamesharing off of my brother for years now and I've had no trouble playing dead by daylight up until a few days ago. every time I load onto the game it says I need to get xbox gamepass to play now, I've bought the game and I'm not buying gamepass just for dead by daylight as all of my other games work fine. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if anyone knows how I can fix it without having to buy gamepass.
