Killer queue times on EU are awful...Anyone else currently experiencing this?
Im a person that plays on both sides, though usually i play a bit more Survivor than Killer.
During this Event however, i have only been able to play as a Survivor for the entire Event, because each time i tried to spark up a Killer match: The waiting times were over 15 Minutes for a Single Match.
I thought that perhaps it was an Event related issue but even the Casual Mode itself is hindered by this mess.
I did at first suspect that many wanted to play Killer and Springtrap, which alright, but judging by the Fact that it's the last day for the Masqurade Event and you can't even properly play a Single Killer match it is kind of shocking.

Mine haven't been that bad. Probably 5min on weekdays (tolerable) and 10min (I'm not patient enough) on weekends. Over 15min is nuts.
They're planning to do a feature in the next 2v8 where you queue up as killer but can play survivor while you wait. It saves your spot in the killer queue. Could possibly be a trial for future normal matches if they can't get things to improve.
-2 -
Ah yes, anything to continue not making playing survivor more appealing.
24 -
I wont deny my thoughts went there too lol but since they haven't confirmed it's being considered for anything other than 2v8 at this stage, I'm gonna reserve judgement on that side of things lol
6 -
Yes, killer queue times have been horrible lately and, considering the next modifier is, supposedly, 2v8… they will get worse.
15 -
Might get better when Walking Dead is out
Only slightly though
7 -
- I confirm it. On Saturday I played Killer for 1 hour across 3 games, half the time waiting in lobby. Simply unacceptable. I already proposed in an old post to incentivize Survivor play, perhaps by introducing a skin unlockable EXCLUSIVELY for playing Survivor. It's clear that there aren't enough people willing to play Survivor.
8 -
queue time are horrible because nobody wants to play survivor and feel miserable while playing a game, same as it was 4/5 years ago with survivor queue time, it was long because nobody wanted to play killer and feel miserable while playing a game
19 -
Its not killer side problem. It's survivors. If you actually pay attention most of the time you have x1.5 on survivor role which means there are not enough players. I live in +2UTC and only time I noticed this goes away is around 10-11PM.
6 -
Yep I can confirm, killer ques take ages in EU. Survivors is almost always instant.
10 -
A logical consequence when bp bribes have been either intentionally lowered or are still bugged and the average survivor experience teeters somewhere between "meh" and "I regret clicking ready".
20 -
It won't ever get much better as long as no server in Eastern Europe is opened. Half of Frankfurt is filled with 60ms+ Ruskies/Ukries.
3 -
"fixing" survivior incentives from 100% to 25% was not a great idea, I guess.
Pushing killer content (kaneki, animatronic back to back) wasn't the greatest idea either - surviviors got nothing, so people want to play killer more.
Also this happening on top of "survivior giving up", "tunneling is a problem", "slugging is a problem" era.
18 -
Might be better, if they actually fixed incentives after like 8 months…
3 -
Honestly it's not about new content. It's more about balance.
For example yesterday I played survivor whole evening and most of my games felt so terrible in some games I wanted to kill my teammates myself. I bring kindred and open hands almost every game and still survivors play so pathetically bad I wonder how it's even possible.
Literally in 6 games I had "that kind of teammate" who played game like brainless dummy and always brought killer to other teammates or hook so killer could get easily 2-3 downs.
And it's very frustrating when one dummy ruins everything because…. Well, I don't know reason behind it.
On the other side Vesker, Kaneki and that new bunny killer (I honestly don't know it's English name) Were almost every game and people literally DC'D from Kaneki and Vesker lobbies. (My fastest game was we dced in less than a minute after game started as two my teammates left the moment they saw Kaneki. I was 3rd person to leave the game, but 4th guy left after me). Which leads us to the point people see those killers as broken.
5 -
It's both balance and content. Balance-wise kaneki was a nightmare, still is unpleasent to go against.
Animatronic feels more balanced, for sure.
It is content thing either, we literally only had some perk changes to try.
The problem is, behaviour looks a numbers - stats, killrates, escape rates etc.
They don't seem to care that we hate going against kaneki, blight or nurse, which we go against the most in europe.
Now we see more vecna aswell, but I personally think he is well balanced so I am not complaining about that.I personally love going against Wesker, he needs practice and skill to perform well. He isn't one of the brainless killers.
Good surviviors will make him m1 killer, with a little bit of mobility to catch-up.9 -
The recent spike in killer queue times isn’t surprising. Solo queue survivor gameplay is currently in a pretty rough spot… whether it’s the overall event experience or going up against Kaneki, who still feels unbalanced and unfun for many.
Instead of addressing core survivor enjoyment, BHVR doubled down by adding more “incentives” like the final 15-trial requirement in Tome 5… after we’ve already completed the prior quest chains. It feels more like desperation than motivation.
If you’re trying to push engagement, maybe start by making the game fun to play.

I really don't understand the logic with this. There would be days where the killer queue was over ten minutes long and i'd only have a 25% bonus on survivor. Either they broke something and don't know how to fix it or they intentionally changed it and are refusing to acknowledge it for whatever reason.
8 -
Not surprising when the survivor side is miserable (unless you're a cracked 4man swf)
Killers want to slug, camp, tunnel and make matches a 3v1 quickly as possible and well you get long ques...enjoy.
16 -
On the other end what else you expect them to do? It's efficient strat for kills. If killer ignores survivors, they ge genrush him and t-bag at the exit.
-9 -
They literally said they will be looking into this. It happened in a post I was participating in and we still don't have any answers or anything.
It was contant 100% few months before and it was totally fine.
Now I don't even remember how long it was since I saw killer bonus.6 -
Im just saying don't be surprised if people find those strats annoying and dont want to engage with it. You are free to play how you want but dont then wonder why other people dont want to engage 🤷🏼♀️
13 -
I'm not surprised at all. But if you complain about something, it would be good to offer a solution. Not just "I hate you because you killed us". It sounds silly. I bet if you played killer it wouldn't even be an issue for you
-8 -
Long queues even make killers try harder, because why would they wait 10 minutes for a match if they are gonna lose?
7 -
Playing the survivor role is no longer fun. It's something that has been happening since the beginning of the year and even before. The pace of the games has become so fast that you either die asap or escape with virtually no interaction at all. The devs thought: "Well, if the matches are short the bad players have a chance to escape".
The focus on something as basic as winning and losing is what is driving this game into decline. If I do nothing but hit skillcheck, I can't say I have “played” at all, so there is no fun in it and I won't even enter the queue for that. Now during the 2v8 we will have again those games in which you repair 3 gens and escape... Where is the fun in that? Of course I will be playing killer instead.
12 -
If killer ignores survivors, they ge genrush him
You do realize that these "strats" you're defending largely involve "ignoring survivors".
What do you think the other 3 are doing while the killer waits by a hook? Camping and tunneling are literally "leaving survivors alone" to focus on one.
The solution to both problems, apparently, would be for the killer to leave the hook and push survivors off gens, would it not?
Almost as if, reducing camping and tunneling would also result in gameplay that innately slows down gen progress as well.
15 -
Yes I'm experiencing this too, EU seems to recognise killers in a really strong state right now so it's the popular role. Survivor really needs attention.
3 -
It's not about the killer playing the killer role. I myself understand it's the role to kill the surviviors. However, when there is excessive tunneling, camping, slugging at 5 gens, humping survivors, slugging for the 4k, it's understandable that alot of players would not find that a fun experience.
If killers spreads hooks and keeps the game moving then that is totally fine from my perspective.
6 -
Then let's together demand a proper MMR/Rank system. It's not player side problem. Game itself puts players with over X hours vs inexperienced. You can't just expect killers to play for survivors fun and then get blamed because they didn't get fun. It's not how Fun works. Killers also want their part of fun. And 4K is one of them. Killer to begin with is a SOLO player vs 4 players.
How do you think it feels when 4 guys bully weaker killer, huh? Why all of a sudden 4 survivors feelings matter more? If you all failed at 5 gens, blame yourself, your teammates, but where's killer fault here? He played well so now you blame him for being good? That's hilarious.-6 -
Not only can I confirm the bad queue times for Survivor here in NA, but the quality of matches I get is awful. It's either baby babies or the sweatiest players I have ever met all coordinating or just carrying the strongest builds and items possible. Some of them have seriously awful ping too which leads me to think some of them may be VPNing from places like the EU for easier games. This is on both sides, but I'm seeing it more on Survivor side.
Survivor queues are instant, Killer queues even at peak times take at least five minutes. The MMR system DECAYS when it has to search that long. This isn't as problematic in 2v8 as it is in modes like these. I have not really had this issue in the non-event queue prior. I assume part of it is the lack of real MMR but being stuck at a certain level you have in the event queue, not just that Survivors don't want to play a more Killer sided event - though too many Killers certainly is part of the issue.
I would beg BHVR to reevaluate their MMR system or at least widen it, OR bring the planned 2v8 "play while you wait" mode to 1v4 for times when the game's queues are unbalanced. I swear, unless I play between about 1-5 PM here, I am not finding Survivors that are of proper caliber. The intended MMR balance system falls apart when you have to wait this long which is probably also part of why people are saying the event feels sweatier than normal this year.
-5 -
These are both very true, I don't think I have seen the Killer bonus for over a year on my games. Not even at peak Survivor times I KNOW everyone is on Survivor. It's just never there. My guess is it's not just people not playing Survivor though that may be a factor - it's that something is 100% broken and has been for over a year.
Something is very wrong with wait times overall and frankly, MMR matching. It needs to be broader to start with, or needs to not widen upwards so much. It's not fun to wait 10 minutes to guaranteed get a strong team you know will stomp you running full meta, which is always what happens to me when my wait time on Killer is 10+ minutes or more (and it's not 2v8 queues). It takes another 5+ minutes after that for it to expand to include weaker teams, any teams, as the MMR gets more desperate to find a match.
So wait 10 minutes, you get god squads. Wait 20, and you get infants.

Played killer last night 12 games waited around 15-25 seconds for most of them
-2 -
Nobody is saying that killers shouldn't have fun or that they should be bullied. In fact, I believe the devs have done a great job in making the killer role much stronger than it used to be. This has been proven, and we're seeing how preferrable one role has become over the other right now, hence the entire point of this discussion. MMR does need some tweaks and it is on the roadmap. Survivors feelings don't matter more than killers, it's because killer feelings were taken so seriously that the game has shfited into where it is right now. The game is extremely different than it was 3 or 4 years ago, and it's because the devs are constantly adjusting the game based on player feedback and experience. Both roles deserve happiness, quality of life, and should be allowed to voice concerns or frustrations.
11 -
People just want to play the easy role. If it is Nurse, Blight or ghoul. Or theyre part of the FNAF fans that just want to play Springtrap. This wont change anywhere soo, cause this would require some smart changes that wont fit into their killer fantasy gameplay.

Maybe killers should give it a gen and a first chase before deciding just how much they should sweat. It's what I do when I can tolerate queue times enough to finally get to play killer.
When playing survivor, I don't understand killers who steamroll me and my fellow solo queue teammates. Like - do the killer players in question miss sitting in queue so much that they need to get matches over with fast so they can get back to that sweet, sweet 'Looking for match' screen? Do they realize curb stomping survivors regardless of their apparent coordination is likely part of why killer queue times are so miserable?
Killers don't NEED to 4K when barely one generator is complete or risk loosing the match.

I agree with all of this, but if you're Killer and you're experiencing a lot of sweaty matches, it can be hard to turn the sweat off. If the teams you're getting all day make it very clear they won't even let you get a gen and a first chase in before multiple gens pop in rapid succession because they're locked in, of course you're not going to "give it a gen and a chase" next time. You're gonna play just as hard.
Here's one of my examples: I just had five Pig rounds the other day; the first three were tough and I barely 1-2ked, even 0ked one trying to "give it a gen and a chase" to be fair. That wasn't fun for me, so I turned up the sweat dial and locked in because clearly everyone else wanted to play Sweat By Daylight… only for my next two to be people just vibing and not all that good at dealing with Pig somehow. I even got a couple head pops which are pretty rare for Pig these days.
Sure, I had fun dominating those teams and winning a 3k on one and a 4k on the other at 4-5 gens left... But I doubt those teams had any fun dealing with me, locked in, playing hardball because my last couple of games primed me to play hardball. And that's the big issue here. We need better MMR matching EVEN IN EVENT QUEUES to prevent Killers feeling like they always have to lock in and play hardball, ruining Survivor matches sometimes, or risk having no fun in their matches at all.

masquerade queues were alright there towards the end 2 minutes is ok. I wonder how it'll be tonight now that the queues are merged again

The definition of a win has shifted pretty drastically over time.
Before 6.1, 3k-4k was a killer win. I still see this regularly when people discuss stats, but not as often in threads about balance changes.
When the hatch changed, it shifted to being only a 4k.
After the 3 gen and gen kick metas, it became "4k with at least 4 gens left standing".
At the most ridiculous, during the 2 weeks thrill was over buffed, there was a thread showcasing a full video of a match: 4k, 5 gens left standing, the survivors' only accomplishment was finally cleansing the thrill totem. There were people in that thread arguing that survivors should be nerfed based on that.
Generally speaking, it's been "4k at 5 gens" for a lot of people for a while now. Which I feel is a big part of why people are so ravenous for regression and getting the 3 gen meta back.

Yes I stopped playing killer a week ago because of this. Before killer was instant going to lobby in evening and night but now it's always bad.

This is such a ridiculous straw man, I’ve never once heard killer players say a win is only a 4K and definitely not counting a win as only a 4K without survives doing a single gen.
3k is a win and most of my games this is how it plays out; sure it’s frustrating to get left on the ground while the killer looks for the last survivor they have no idea where they are but it really is a rarity in my experience.
Maybe region is what makes a difference as I’m in the UK but I’ve seen people talk about ‘humping’ from killers and I’ve only had that happen once to me and I’ve been playing since the game launched on PS4 when Huntress was brand new so it seems disingenuous to me.

How is it for you guys today? I am having under 30 seconds right now on killer…
-2 -
When survivor is x1.5 I play it, as que times are less than 10 sec. When it goes away, it means survivors are more than enough, and I'm going killer where longest I wait around 1-2 min.
0 -
When survivor is x1.5 I play it
That doesn't mean anything past 10 months. Simply doesn't work, queue times do not reflect it.

I agree that 3k is a win, but the way the community talks about game balance that's not the case for a number of people (typically a small, but insanely loud minority).
There are absolutely people, especially on these forums, who will talk about games that they 4k'd with gens remaining and use that as an example of how "it was too hard" and conclude that either "killers need buffed", "survivors need nerfed", or both.
Sometimes these conversations start with screenshots or even video of the match with the killer absolutely steamrolling.
So I agree and admit this isn't everyone, that's not what I meant. But there are certainly conversations where some people are seeing a 4k with completed gens as "not enough".
