Matches feel dreadful now the event is over
Basically the above. My matches have been absolutely miserable since the event ended, and the only way to get anywhere at all is to be so tryhard and mean that I stop being able to have fun. My theory is that only the super hardcore players who weren't even in the event queue are still around and everyone else has left: hopefully people come back for the Walking Dead chapter. No queries or solutions, just want to vent.

Wondering if the event abilities messed with MMR at all. I know alot of killers injure ppl pretty easily. Combine that with the pallet break power and you get alot of easy downs. I was also able to use alot stronger addons than normal since the BPs every match made them easy to replace.

I'm surprised, since the regular queue was where all the tryhards were. the game should be easier now
0 -
I thought event queues actually prevented MMR gains / losses.
9 -
Some ppl play different during events. Personally, I had MANY matches where my goal was to 2 hook everyone since everyone brought cakes. That obviously has the side effect of lowering MY MMR while raising theirs.
2 -
same, I horsed around a lot. that could be it. I had thought the mmr gains losses weren't a thing in the event unless I mixed that up with Chaos Shuffle or something.

Everyone also has a huge stock of iri addons now.

I feel like they did, on my mikey build i can hold my ground really well with my perks but recently its been like messed up where no amount of pressure with tryharding helps it, prior event i was getting 3 kills back to back, i then mained event also got 3 kills back to back sometimes 4k if i get lucky with hatch, and now with event over and going in regular mode its been odd thats all i have to say it doesnt feel normal it boosted mmr or something

They feel dreadful to me because I'm not making as much BP as the event.
6 -
I feel like THATS just a weird player mentality issue. Ppl can have 6000 cakes, but feel like they need to start saving them and not using them.
6 -
lol, even if I use one the other four won't be so it's still not the same amount.
1 -
Why would the tryhards have been in regular queue instead of the event one? I didn't do the event because the queues were too long.
1 -
They do.
That's what I am saying too. They were in both I feel.
0 -
THATS WHAT IM SAYING!!! Theres no reason for ppl NOT to be using them, especially killer players. They dont even have the excuse of "I wanna save em for my SWF". The only reason I can see to not use them is if the cakes are on a different character... which makes me really wish they'd combine offering pools already.

I'm definitely waiting for TWD. There's not a ton of reasons to play the game in between events or releases anymore imo, which is sad.
4 -
I feel a lot of people didn't like the remote actions or the Expose modifier.
1 -
Same for me 😆

For some reason killer players seem to be using less of cakes now in my soloQ matches. But when I play killer survivors use them less then...
1 -
Even if everyone uses cakes it's still less than event gains... I was regularly getting close to 400K bp during event as the event bp gains stacked. Max seems to be about 200K now...

Honestly, the only thing im looking forward to with this update is kbm support. Everything else is whatever.

Ye. Tbh I can't even buy the chapter until next month so it's gonna be a little delayed for me anyway.
0 -
Ah you meant the survivors were avoiding the event.

Queue times are long I think we're just in the in-between where things slowdown and not play till new chapter arrives
0 -
queue times are like maybe 5 mins for me, but it doesn’t really feel bad.

Yeah I uninstalled the moment the event was over, knew the game was gonna stop feeling fun

My matches where also horrible yesterday.
I played the first time again after the event yesterday and holy:
I started in with 3,5k, 5,4k and I believe 2,4k hours as swf with 4 times dh, ub, ds, 3 times the weird taurie perk and 1 time deli. Obviously I lost hard with my full aura build on huntress xD
Next 2 games where also swfs judging on the way they always stood pefectly behind objects in my directions. Of course it could also be that they simply knew pretty good where I am, but that was so consistent I doubt that xD
Well in the end I'm probably just used to the event, I just have to play for a while and then it should get a lot better again. I'm also kinda happy that I actually get people again that have a good hourcount, it's kinda funny but also not that interesting to play against people that obviously can't do much xD

luckily 2v8 is coming back soon

I'm so excited. Dredge and unknown are the new additions I think. Although, I have a conspiracy theory Springtrap will also join them. If you think about it they're all killers with teleports and all have a map on withered isle.

Well friend, you can get the "fun" and "interactive" gameplay that is engaging for both sides:
All jokes aside, I don't mind playing DBD in-between events. It is the regular gameplay we are all used to, it is alright.

I don't know what's going on, but it feels like something was changed with matchmaking. I had a 67% escape rate over the last 30 days, and I've escaped once in 10 games this weekend. The matchmaking seems to be reverted back to what it was for the last couple years. Always one or two relatively weak teammates that get focused out early. The lack of transparency is extremely frustrating.

☠️
Yeah, exactly. 😜 I need an incentive to play these days. Even during events, sometimes I have to tap out early if it's bad enough.

The fact that this doesn't progress the AFC mechanic is unbelievable. Vecna is right there.
The next event is 2v8, isn't it? Hopefully this one will be fun, the last one with Oni and Legion was miserable.
3 -
Yeah, it's easily negligible. I always assume it's not going to work and if it does I'm going down anyway.
That's every 2v8 from now on as far as I know. 😭 Even so it tends to be more balanced than the base game in my experience. Still gets old fast though.

Pov: average solo queue lobby

I think the problem with 2v8 is that the only good reason to play survivor in 2v8 is the BP bonus, meanwhile the killer role has extremely long queues and many killers are still unavailable.
3 -
It does't really matter anymore with the next 2v8. Survivor becomes filler entertainment while waiting for killer games.
0 -
Well, to be fair, they really needed to fix those queue times. We'll see if it was the right way to do it.
0 -
I agree but I think this also means survivor will just stay the same at this point.
0 -
That's very true. Camping and tunneling render it pretty unfun these days.
1 -
It i unfortunate when it happens, yes. But at least, with 8 survivors, it isn't always easy to target a specific one.
2 -
That's what makes it feel more balanced. There's only so much you can do with the game without some really big decisions being made, so it's the best of a bad situation.

Maybe Its just my opinion, but this event has been boring for the past 2 anniversaries now. Other than playing for the massive bp increase, both sides having overpowered abilities isn't particularly fun to play against or applealing at all. I did all my quests and stopped playing it cus it was just so poorly designed ot wasn't even worth playing. Amother factor is that literally nothing about the event mode has changed, which is baffling tbh. No extra party tryks or changed/nerfed power ups. If anything it feels good to have semi normalized queues again now that its gone. What a disappointment for the last masquerade

Yes, I agree, friend.

Ye I went on vacation. In the bahamas rn

Im seeing so many gen rush builds it's insane....

Matchmaking does feel different (for me, since mid event). But it's hard to tell if this is down to an uneven distribution of players post event (with many taking a break) or if BHVR is tinkering with the system a little bit.
After all, we do know they are looking at making changes to MMR and the only way to really test those changes out is on the live servers. While it would be nice of them to announce if they were doing some experimenting, I don't think they ever would.
Personally, I just assume BHVR often make unannounced changes to aspects of the game without fully informing the player base and will only fess up if enough public figures in the community make public statements about how different their games feel. I've not watched much DBD content recently, so I don't know if people who play this game for a living have noticed a difference too or if it's just the average scrubs like me.
Tbh, I think it's most likely to be down to a weird spread of players following the event and a lack of recent content to bring in an equal number of Killer and Survivor players. We've not had a full chapter for quite a while now and with 2 V 8 returning soon, I'm not sure things will begin to feel balanced again anytime soon.

ironically, I hear a lot of people saying how hard it's been, but I've been having more success in solo q survivor in the past couple days. not because it's easier really, I think just because I've adapted to deal with the BS as much as I can. some days it feels like the universe is conspiring against you. some matches are still rough and there's no hope, but a lot of matches I carry or clutch, although admittedly, my teammates are not usually so lucky, usually because they struggle in chases.
one thing I realize in solo q is you can only be altruistic to an extent, before it gets you killed, so you have to learn what risks can afford be taken. but I rarely play for hatch and usually I get the gates powered. I don't bring a rat build nor do I follow the healing "meta". still most matches I get Iri altruism. and I almost always read killer and survivor perks in post game lobby to refresh my knowledge of perks on both sides. if you have strong fundamentals it does a lot to motivate teammates.
I prioritize gen efficiency, breaking 3 gens the entire match before they occur, going on long chases (obviously), protecting death hook teammates and rotating to unhook. I willingly play injured because in solo q it's often not convenient to heal. it's a lot of risk assessment.
i always bring a flashlight and prioritize long blinds over battery life. although people say they're not as good as medkit or toolbox, I strongly disagree. you have to be surgical with flashlights. I routinely disorient killers a lot with pallet blinds and unexpected movement, even while injured. if I don't outright lose them, I still confuse them and they lose distance. it's the element of surprise that works here. this works against seasoned killers with thousands of hours. killers can't always track you via sound especially if their power is noisy and you walk a bit. also, flashlight is very helpful at protecting tunneled teammates, making killer waste time before pickups, having a general dominant presence, and catching them off guard with clutch saves routinely turns the momentum of a match in my favor. but I'm not that guy who chases the killer half the match trying to get a save. it's about using it when a critical opportunity arises and the killer least expects it. if the killer has light born, no problem, I find this out on the first blind attempt, and trade my item for his perk slot.
if I have one tip to newer players, it's to continuously learn. the moment you stop learning, you lose the magic. that means you're responding in real time to the unexpected, rather than simply reacting based on what you've learned in the past. every match is unique. I'm not a fan of streaks because I like to go into every match like it's the first time. you can't always analyze the game , it's too complicated, you've got to master the art of intuition and spontaneity, just like a martial artist or athlete.
