Franklin's Demise's Demise
Disappointed that no adjustments were made for this perk from PTB.

True that.
I am also mourning Streetwise' old effect.

Honestly a lot of things should have been scrapped from the ptb. That key rework is terrible. Full stop. Especially the blood amber addon

I hated Franklin's with a passion so I can't say I'm bothered. I do wish they'd have simply reworked it into something useful though.

Meanwhile conviction makes it unscathed.
they even have the nerve to call it "hail mary" perk lmao
what a terrible joke
but hey, they'd rather nerf last stand cuz baby killers cried theyd be bullied by a perk you can counter or just endure once at worst

It was my favorite perk... Now I dunno what to do when 4 items are in play, like 2 flashlights 2 medkits.
It'll be absolutely nightmare when vs bully squads.

I do hope they revisit that perk at some point in the future and give it a new secondary effect. It really does need one to be useful, but it also needs a way healthier one than the two it's had in the past.

It's ridiculous, full stop. Completely murdering the only perk that let killers counter strong items is just blatantly ridiculous. They had all the feedback in the world but instead of fixing it, they'd rather change it so they can implement new item cooldown mechanic that not a single soul asked for.

It really is a dead perk now
8 -
I think it really should just remove a percentage of item charges when you hit someone.
Which is funnily enough the thing it did initially.

U mean you sad that u can't kill items that surivour bring in anymore just imagine suruvour having counterplay which is clearly what u dont want franklins is now balance not OP
-15 -
"op" has 2% pick rate and is useless once the items lose their charge
how op….
2 -
It’s a 100% dead perk now. Completely useless and zero reason to ever use it. I agree that the old version was annoying, but new version should have at least some impact on reducing item charges. Nobody should be surprised that it got the classic BHVR treatment of nuking into oblivion instead of minor and sensible adjustment.

These changes need to be reverted immediately. Players provided countless reasons why implementing these changes were a terrible idea, yet they went ahead with it anyway.
Seems like it's a time to be extremely vocal regarding this until the Devs actually listen.2 -
It is a dead perk now, certainly. Although I do wonder if the difference is even being felt right now, because Franklin's was barely ever used to begin with.

Yeah, that would be the better solution. Make the Perk useful instead of nerfing a bad Perk to make it even worse. I mean, people only complain because it is a Killer Perk which is nerfed, so this huge echo chamber does what it usually does. But it is not like if they revert it that the people who are now complaining will suddenly run the Perk, since it would still be bad.
So they should have just reworked it into a decent Perk instead.

It was barely used because it was run on a case to case basis. If survivors had 4 medkits then it was a no brainer to run, it wasn't a perk to run every match or if there was like only 1 item. The difference is absolutely being felt

Fr the outcry has been wild. It was an obnoxious perk that I barely ever came across.

@SpringMyTrap They have to sell those dlc somehow. I'm calling it now. Conviction will get the Mettle of Man treatment and be nerfed within a few months once they've sold enough dlc.

That’s just not true. You don’t actually know what the real pick rate is—there’s no official system tracking that kind of data. NightLight is completely player-driven and unreliable for something like this. Every single match has to be manually submitted, which opens the door for skewed stats. The numbers can easily be bloated or underreported, especially considering only a tiny fraction of the community—maybe 3%—even uses the site. Console players don’t use it at all and likely never will, so using NightLight to make any solid claim just doesn’t hold up.
And let’s be real—the killer picks Franklin's Demise almost every single time there are three or more items in a lobby. That’s not a coincidence. It’s being used specifically to shut down item value, and it’s way more common than people want to admit.
Furthermore, even with the recent nerf—where Franklin’s no longer drains item charges—it still applies real pressure. It takes the item out of the survivor’s hands during chase and forces them to go back and retrieve it, which delays and disrupts their ability to actually use it. That alone is item denial. The only thing that changed is that it’s no longer an instant item wipe.
The people upset about this change are just mad they can’t completely erase items from the game anymore. They never wanted to learn the actual counterplay and were relying on Franklin’s as a crutch.

Yeah everyone's saying it "only had a 2% pick rate" yet you wouldn't think that by the massive uproar. The interest is only there now because there's a new item and old item updates. For such a major item update, I can see why the devs opted to change the singular perk that could negate it all.
2 -
and what's the counter to strong items exactly?
just give up and lose?
stop trying to justify this please.
oh woopty do they will waste a full 3 seconds going back to their fully charged item
"crutch" so survivors get to bring steptics and syringes and those are not crutch but i bring a perk not an item A PERK to counter them and its crutch…
this community never changes…
btw u could counter this HUGE OP PERK, by literally dropping the item…

Survivors items should be hidden in lobby from killers, because I remember when we all bring medkits killers just use Franklins and it was so annoying! Now it's fine for me at least I don't see it now😎, especially killers love to pair it with weave which is another obnoxious combo, thanks devs for changing it, please don't revert😭

For the Fig Vial they could make it so it slowly puts the item on cooldown so if you pick it straight up without it already being on cooldown you can use the item in a few seconds when the cooldown has finished, or if it’s on the floor for some time the cooldown will have increased until it’s at the maximum allowed by the Fog Vial and any addons equipped.
1 -
Pretty much, and it all because they couldn't be bothered figuring out a way to adjust the numbers around the new Fog Vials and the reworked Maps and Keys.
Fog Viles recharge way too often and are bugged as crap, they need to be removed or killswitched.

its rather funny how they dont see the corner they got themselves in.
if frankin was so OP despite being a niche counterpick to one particular optional thing survivors have, then that means that optional thing was overpowered as well.
