Some clown changes got through
I'm not an expert on Clown changes from the ptb, So are the changes good, healthy or straight up bad? I've also noticed some of his nerfed addons has still gone through live

Bad. Pinks remain neutered along with the addons that helped them. Magically buffing the pinks hindered from 12% to 14% doesn't make them better especially when Vigil is growing rapidly in popularity. I would go as far as to say Freddys snare is better slowdown now cause at least that lasts for a decent amount of time even though they don't work on awake survivors.
Not to mention the yellow activation staying at 1 second now is just throw yellow at feet.10 -
Speed demon clown with the reverts is gonna be a nightmare.

This is a really bad patch all around. Spirit got murdered, too. Fog Vials make survivors literally untrackable in phase.
-11 -
Tbh I think you're overreacting on the Fog Vials. They'll be annoying for a couple of weeks until the novelty wears off. After that I doubt they'll be used much by anyone playing seriously.
5 -
I think they are speaking the "survivors make no sound in the fog area" against spirit survivors will always drop the vial and have a large area to work with nullifying the way spirit gets downs (phasing ontop of them)
-1 -
I'm sorry, I don't think you understand how powerful an "I escape chase" button really is.
-11 -
The linger change still needs to be reverted. Very sad that it went through to live.
4 -
I understand what the concern is. I just don't see it as a lasting issue.
I understand how powerful it can be. However as I said I'm pretty sure they won't be used much after a couple of weeks. Even if they were they can't be constantly spammed. The effect lasts what 10 seconds? At worst they make you waste one phase because of the Vials. I'm not saying it won't be annoying, it absolutely will. I'm just not convinced it'll be nearly as crippling as you're predicting.
2 -
"It's okay that a survivor item completely counters a killer and turns them into an M1 4.4 killer for an extended period of time because survivors might not bring that item all the time."
So what you're basically saying is we're back to lobby dodging. Like Wraith used to do with flashlights, and Trapper used to do with toolboxes.
-3 -
Even without Vigil the duration is simply too low. Purples will feel like wastes of ammo in most situations. They now want us to spam piss bottles right in front of us all game. Thrilling gameplay innit…

If you read my post my argument was twofold. 10 seconds isn't an extended period of time. At most you lose out on a single phase. Meaning you have 50 seconds before they can do it again. That's plenty of time for even a decent Spirit to get a down. The Vials will be a petty annoyance, not a death blow.
2 -
they pushed the 1 second nerf through and kept the lobotomy buff
so yeah, they heard the feedback and still did what they wanted.
they do not care about the community, they will push terrible changes as much as they can in pursuit of making niche things have wide appeal to people who just play everything a little. people who invest time in the game / killers dont matter.
5 -
You would be an absolute fool to keep chasing a survivor that had used a Fog Vial.
-6 -
didnt they remove muffled sound from those vials ?
1 -
Yup. And they replaced it with completely muting all survivor sounds.
0 -
well that kinda sucks, im all for making survivor new items to make new gameplay for survivor side but it shouldnt make specific killer unplayable
0 -
Spirit supposedly operates on an "alternate plane" while phasing, so there's a built-in lore reason why her phases would be immune to Fog Vials. That's really what they should do, is just make it so that Fog Vials are nullified for the Spirit while she's in phase.
-2 -
knowing BHVR it will take years to implement, heck im back after 4 year hiatus and they still didnt do anth about hag
0 -
run haste perks and addons, throw yellow bottle at feet and just run them over. thats new clown
1 -
It's not even new. You already could do it. Plenty of people did. It's just that we have no choice now due to how underwhelming purple bottles are.
1 -
can you blame spirits? they've been tortured by iron will then otr for years and their only bandaid was "eh , have a dried cherry blossom. take it or leave it."
2 -
I feel like the part ppl are forgetting with pinks is that timer is only for after ppl leave the cloud. The cloud time is a large percentage of the slow time and isn't affected by vigil. Freddy's snares doesnt really have a similar part since that slowdown isn't 2 parted like Clown's.
-1 -
Yes but there is multiple scenarios where you can't place a cloud in advance in lets say a pallet/window vault. I've had multiple hits already not go through because the hindered last 1 second less. It also accounts for the hinder not being as long so survivors can get the fast vault more consistently.
3 -
Generally its not about placing bottles in advance, but tossing bottles in front of survivors so they have to run through the cloud or run to a less safe tile. Overall, I definitely see this change as a net buff. I feel like the ppl who are getting less value from this version are the ppl who are ONLY using pinks.
1 -
Yeah but now its just use yellows with haste perks. Nothing changed. Pinks are borderline worthless now because why not just run sticky soda and cheap gin to get 17% haste while using other haste perks like rapid or batteries included.

You're playing Spirit. Learn to use your ears instead of your eyes.
-9 -
I imagine Vial use will be at its worst in the first days/weeks as Survivors enjoy their new toy, then taper off to using other items/their previous preference
0 -
You CAN do that, but I feel like your not gonna be getting peak value if your not using both. Its like your example of "I would've gotten the hit if it lasted 1 seconds longer". Maybe you would've gotten the hit if the survivor was slowed AND you were faster? You can use those addons and perks and STILL use both. S
-3 -
As usual killer mains over react to every little change. Clowns are used to being lazy and only spamming pink bottles. Any clown that makes proper use of both bottles will have no problem with the changes.
-4 -
wait actually this also nerfs huntress a lot, i cant see survivors from far using snipe shots, this is kinda bs lol
0 -
Tell me, how do you use your ears when survivors have no audio whatsoever?
4 -
-1 count for the killers. Literally no reason to keep playing the Clown.
And the Fog Vials are so bugged that they can totally cancel chase for the rest of the match, so no bloodlust. Good luck to any M1 killer, because the chances for them to killswitch the new survivor's toy are between zero and none.
2 -
Easy, the fog vial only covers an area of 10 meters. If you can't hear them you know they're in the smoke, if they leave the smoke then you can hear them.
-5 -
Except you can't hear them if YOU'RE in the smoke. And it blasts background audio noise into your headphones.
1 -
Tbh if they just revert the linger time on the pink bottles and revert the activation time on the antidote clouds, the rest isn't really that bad.
0 -
I played clown by spamming purple bottles for the last 3-4 years so he's dead to me, hindered effect need to last 2 seconds, 1 second just doesn't work
0 -
You answered your own question…just leave the smoke.
-3 -
Bottles used to be a 60/40 split in favor of pinks. Now I would say it's a 75/25 in favor of yellows. The change is just bad. Should increase pinks linger to 1.5 seconds or increase how far the pink spreads and cloud size.
0 -
If you choose the wrong direction and leave the wrong way then you just instantly lose the chase. There's no counterplay to them for a spirit except blind luck.
1 -
The item is supposed to help the survivor and be problematic for the killer, otherwise there would be no point using it. There is counter play, BHVR just removed your training wheels for a few seconds.
-7 -
Removed the entire point of spirits power you mean. She's meant to track through hearing, how can she do that with no hearing.
I think on most fronts they're fine, mid even, but they shouldn't outright cancel a killers powers for any amount of time (especially since it just recharges itself passively). If it just hid the scratch marks for spirit when she phases then I'd just not care, if hearing was fine then I wouldn't care. The fact that it muffles hearing for her specifically is the problem.
1 -
Spirit is an S tier killer that is brain dead easy to 4K with just like Blight. Giving her and the rest of the S tiers more challenge is very healthy for the game.
-8 -
Wild how the same old bitter people keep making the same old bitter posts, existing only to talk down to others and sow dissent.
Gotta admire the commitment to the bit, though I never expected so many mask-off moments in a Clown thread.
1 -
She's one of the strongest killers in the game. I think she can afford to lose 10 seconds.
Plenty of Spirit players use their phase to injure healthy survivors. Iron Will does nothing to prevent that injury. Even against Iron Will Spirit had footsteps, breathing, and (on most maps) grass to work with. They've hardly been suffering.
This is my belief as well. They'll be fun for a while but people will quickly go back to the big three items.
