Insights on clairvoyance and hatch spawns after 1000 games
Clairvoyance is dope for escaping. Not everyone cares about the hatch but if you do you gotta run it. I mean a 75%escape rate (in around 1000 matches) is pretty insane for solo queue and that's just playing normally and being a little more careful and a little more selfish in the unwinnable matches of which there are often many in solo queue. It combos well with bringing a key which fortunately has just been buffed, with appraisal so you can just find a key which is often easy to do which also just buffed, with sprint burst so you don't even need a key most of the time that lets you just rush at the hatch as soon as it spawns, with kindred and open handed and even totem perks cause you gotta destroy a totem.
But if you want to improve finding the hatch especially without clairvoyance (although this tip will also help you if you bring clairvoyance) is this nasty little thing that happens >90% of the time that the exit gates are close together. It seems that the hatch spawn is tied to the layout of the exit gates. I don't know how exactly, if there was more information available it could be probably used to get even more insight on the overall hatch spawns. But when you have 2 exit gates that are located near each other the hatch will spawn between them almost every time. It's so predictable. You just stand between the exit gates and bam, the hatch spawns either right between them or right in front of one of the exit gates.
The only map I noticed had extremely reliable hatch spawns was the forgotten ruins. It will almost always spawn somewhere on the upper level in front of the tower. Rarely does it spawn behind tower. Rarely does it spawn below the tower. Which again might be tied to the exit gate layout as they're always right across from each other, which is where the hatch spawns.

That's an interesting insight. Thank you for sharing. I've never really used this perk much myself, but I've been playing my way through the Survivor trilogy of Tomb Raider games and I've been thinking it would be an ideal perk to include in a lore accurate Lara Croft build.
If you've not played those games, the way that it highlights objects of interest in the immediate environment is very similar to the Survival Instinct mechanic in those games.

I used to run Clairvoyance a lot to hedge against useless solo queue teammates, but I found its usefulness declined after the devs nuked the s*** out of stealth playstyle and also the introduction of the finisher mori which seemed to incentivize more slugging for 4Ks. Before these changes, it was much easier to stay hidden in unwinnable situations with only 2 survivors remaining. Even if killer was bent on the 4K, often times they would give up if you could stay hidden long enough. Now, with stealth no longer viable, killers can find that last survivor much more easily and quickly. The only way you can hope to get value out of Clairvoyance for hatch escapes now is pray that the killer isn’t going slug for the 4K and come looking for you, which doesn’t seem to happen that often anymore.

honestly, slugging for 4k isn't as big a draw back as you may think. clearly it didn't hurt my escape rate (much). it is a factor but if you're willing to actually play stealthy (hide in lockers, use Fixated to move around easily) it's not a big deal. in the time it takes a survivor to bleed out you usually get 1 crow. on larger maps you can literally just destroy a totem if you get a crow and it ends your afk timer. and while it's obviously a memorable experience to be in one of those matches, at the end of the day it doesn't happen as much as you think.
