Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why does everyone hate ghoul?

Genuine question

i do not understand the hate for this killer, u can loop them like any other excluding nurse

their power is borderline useless in loops its exactly like wesker they need to play very smart

the only annoying aspect is getting hit behind a wall with his power

so? do we just hate the killer because he counters holding W or what?

edit : ty for the replies and the downvotes even tho i just asked a ####### question lol

crazy mobility i agree on, anti loop not so sure, using you power in a loop is very situational and map dependent imo (excluding the kidnap tech here)

well free hit is his whole kit tho?

fast pallet vault is only if they use the power on you so just don't camp pallets?

does the kidnap tech just basically make the survivor stand still while ghoul is vaulting or is there something more to it?

and honestly almost every killer is bugged this patch

Probably because they cant last long injured. Sometimes its because there are maps with too many deadzones or some killer perks, but most of the time its bc survivors are bad.

Dont get me wrong Ghoul is a strong killer. He can keep everyone injured, traverse the map extremely fast, pressure gens and can make rescues insanely hard. All in all he is a really good macro-killer. But most Ghouls dont do that. They just chase, take the free injure and expect a down quickly after. If i get a good team, they lose 3 gens or more with the first down.

Its kinda always the same with this kind of killer. Noob stomper, survivor hate him, killer take him for easy games. The killer gets easy wins (giving up is also ok the table), but gets demolished if he gets the rare good teams, bc he isnt ecperienced in chase.

So to summarize: he gets easy wins against average survivor, even if you are an average killer. That means high pick rate and more hate.

    • I'm fine with Kaneki, I enjoy "fighting" him. But I hate getting hit when I'm CLEARLY behind a wall/rock, it's just unfair.

Because he counters shift-w which is what people who cant loop do constantly. And people wonder why mobility killers are popular.

No, his anti loop is solid and has a decent skill ceiling. You can zip around loops to body block and cut off resources. Its the only good thing about Ghoul that people seem to agree on, if it weren't for the free hit he gets, as well as the insane power vault speed.

I don't hate him I just want this loser removed from the game. Spiderman needs to find his way back home, Rivals.

And people who can't mindgame always seem to pick Ghoul.

What mindgames are you doing against people who predrop the map and hold checkspots?

tbh ghoul or not survivor don't try to mind game either way these days

literally try to mind game just turn and find the survivor is across the map….

Quasi-Nurse mobility on a killer tailored for 12 years old Switch users.

Not to mention they're all running Bamboozle and Blood Favor to counter the few things that slow him down, so Ghoul matches are frequently a repetitive and agonizing experience.

I do pretty well against Ghoul but I do find his abilities obnxious, particularly that one where he locks you in animation. The problems I've seen have more to do with who chooses to play him. He's got a reputation as being a braindead, easy play, so it's a lot of low skill, cheap players who hurtle themselves across the map during an unhook but can't even land a basic attack. Then when they do badly , they DC. I've had more Ghouls DC than any other killer.

That's a mind game in and of itself. It's hella funny when a survivor tricks you into running in a circle when they're already gone.

    Why would you exclude it?

The Devs said it was an intended feature.

Between kaneki and springtrap tunneling off the hook, springtrap you can see coming with the door flashing, so you start to run (some distance) he goes to throw his axe at you which you CAN dodge, and even if it hits you gain (some distance from the hit sprint). Then if you make it to a pallet or window, springtrap has to play around ot or wait for his axe cooldown which basicly starts a normal chase with 1 less healthstate. So you have a chance atleast.

With kaneki, by the time you see him coming you get 2 steps of distance before being held in place, (which gives him distance) by an unavoidable m2, which nullifies almost all defensive perks, and then you have to try to get to a palley or window with less distance. Once you reach the pallet or window, he can just vault over as fast as myers and gets a free down. Or the capture tech. So you barely stand a chance avoiding getting tunneled off the hook even if u make it to safety. And he even counters decisive strike because its only good against killers you can hold W against.

    • Injures you for free so you basically start every chase with 1 health state
    • Can land right next to you with very little cooldown
    • Has high mobility (which isn't problematic by itself, but combined with everything else it is)
    • Has a vault mechanic that he doesn't need to have at all
    • Kidnap tech exists
    • Consistently gets the results of high-performing S tier killers while also being incredibly easy to play
    • About 95% of his skill ceiling that does exist is completely optional and not actually required to do well with him at all, and the mechanic that creates that optional skill ceiling (the short fatigue) is so problematic it'll have to get nerfed anyway
    • Can use addons that effectively replace Bamboozle and BBQ and act as 5th and 6th perk slots

Yeah, he's horrible to go against and I completely stopped playing him until they nerf him, I absolutely refuse to contribute to making survivors play against this awful design.

Personally, the hitbox for his power is terrible. At times, I don't know whether I'm facing The Ghoul, or The Nurse in disguise because of how bad the hitbox is.

Also, the power feels janky. His power has a weird animation from a survivor perspective and feels rushed. At times, the attack hits, but the animation doesn't.

I don't mind the distance he covers personally, but his attack is janky and grossly unfair. They don't feel earnt.
