Can the wendigo make a good addition to the killer roster?

I believe that the wendigo from Native American mythology can make a good addition to the roster.
I did my research and found out that BHVR doesn’t want to upset the Native American community, and I understand that but what has me puzzled is that we already have a killer named the oni which is a Japanese folklore creature and krampus as a skin that comes from German folklore.

In my opinion and this is just me saying this I feel like if they ask permission first and have a discussion about it, there might be a chance they can add it to the game. I just wanna make a quick note here and say that this whole thing is me being curious but also really wanting something like this come to the game. Last thing if they do proper research and stick as close as they can to the legend as possible without being offensive it’ll be ok.

These are just my thoughts and I don’t wanna start something this was just a question and an observation. I wish for people who read this to keep the responses respectful and honest.

    There isn't just one Native American culture. There are many different kinds. Some tribes would probably be fine with it. Others probably wouldn't be. It's safer to avoid the problem altogether.

    It's most likely because Japanese culture is very widespread and afaik, many Japanese people are fond of foreigners indulging in their culture. There might be Native American tribes that wouldn't mind if the devs were to add it to the game, but I also know there would be ones that'd find an issue with it which is totally fair.

    Basically, not all cultures are the same, some are closed off and some are open. As Caiman mentioned before it's really best to not bother trying to add it.

    I would definetly like to see more monster like killers in DBD.
