Should conviction receive a nerf?
Due to how powerful the perk is you gain 25 percent recovery speed while in thr dying state. It’s paired really well with unbreakable soul guard and plot twist which means it’s really strong. Nerf suggestion. The perk activates only when you complete 3 objectives cleanse a totem repair a generator and heal yourself then the perk activates. Also instead of 25 percent recovery speed it should be 50 percent recovery speed.

Don't even need unbreakable. Boon: Exponential does the job even better.
Boon: Exponential, Conviction, Soul Guard, Boil over. Add Flip Flop or Saboteur if another member of the team is running the exponential.
It's the latest, most potent version of the "you can't hook me, but you can't leave me on the ground either" build that's had a few variations throughout the game's life.
IMO? those builds shouldn't be possible to begin with, since outside of getting a lucky down near a hook, your only options are:
1. bring perks to counter it ahead of time
2. slowly bleed the survivors out the whole match
which isn't very good for the game as a whole.-9 -

It's just another strong SWF perk or a very situational end game anti slugging perk. Ive yet to see a video of the perk getting value without it being a bully swf squad who brings a whole build for it or a end game where the killer loses bc they got too greedy slugging for the 4k or an extra down. Hot take: If a perk needs three other perks to be "op" then its not op.

if you going to put up a poll, at least have the information correct. You don’t get 25% recovery speed while in the dying state. You have to get TO 25% of healed while in the dying state.
and if we’re gonna make a case that you can add three other perks to make this so game breaking then why have we not Nerfed hexes? Because you can use four of them together to make one of them absolutely completely broken.

Which is why totems can be cleansed to remove them for the rest of the match. Boons can only be permanently removed using Shattered Hope, otherwise survivors can just keep putting it back.
I'd be in favor of nerfs just as much if hex totems could be infinitely replaced unless the survivors brought a specific perk.
All of this is on top of the fact that if you're running a full hex build and everything gets cleansed, you no longer have any perks, whereas the conviction build still has several useful effects even if you do cleanse the boon, albeit much more manageable.

Hell, it might be better to just nerf Boon: Exponential instead of conviction, since it'd also prevent future issues with these types of builds.

TotH, Face the Darkness, Undying, Devour Hope.
If you put all of those together, it makes it pretty impossible for survivors to cleanse them. And by this logic because this can happen, devour hope should be nerfed.

Haven't even seen anyone use it yet. Seems only good for swf. I don't see reason for nerf maybe buff someway that help make it more useful for solos.

While I don't think Devour Hope is as easily abused as the Conviction build due to Devour Hope require at least 3 unhooks to get the ball rolling (and if you're running an anti-heal killer like plague or legion to keep Face the Darkness up, it only gains benefit at 5, which actually makes the build entirely useless for most of the game) and vs Conviction only require 1 heal, although I also don't think that you should be able to make totems uncleanseable.
However, I wouldn't nerf Devour Hope in this instance, because the problem is the uncleanseable totems, instead I would just change Face the Darkness' scream cooldown to 30 seconds. and for Conviction builds, I would either just make self-heals not activate Conviction, or nerf Exponential in some way.

Like, I don't think there are any individual hex perks strong enough to be outright meta with the uncleanseable totem build right now (due to it requiring that two survivors be injured constantly to work), but I'd rather it get fixed before the devs add something that makes it a massive problem.

Yes
Actually now that I think about it, unless a survivor being injured from an unhook counts as "injuring them" for Face the Darkness, then the build only works for the first 3 downs, and after that it's as cleansable as every other hex build.

It's good if the killer likes to slug in the EGC; a quick recovery and 30 secs would be enough time to make a quick escape assuming the gate(s) is open. But UB just plays that role better.

If anything, it needs a buff and MAYBE to be deactivated once used.
We all have seen those "CONVICTION IS BROKEN INSANE CLIP", "IS CONVICTION CLICKBAIT NOW?", "THIS IS SO BROKEN | CONVICTION DBD", "WE CALL CONVICTION AT 3AM NO CAP", "SKIBIDI CONVICTION TRIGGERS TOXIC KILLER", "COLLEGE KAREN DESTROYED WHEN CONVICTION SAYS THIS", etc.
Truth is - if you use your ENTIRE build to make this perk viable, it may work a bit for you."I put Conviction with Unbreakable, Boon Exponential, and Soul Guard!" Cool. How are you helping your team escape ?
You're spending more time keeping a boon lit (That doesn't help the team 92% of the time) and counting on the Killer either inexplicably NOT picking you up, or perhaps a teammate bullying the killer into avoiding picking you up.
Then, you trigger the perk. Woohoo! So what do you do? You go into a corner and perish dramatically so that you can use Unbreakable as an inferior Plot Twist - or if you're lucky, use your hidden boon to get back up! Super sneaky!
So your grand plan is to spend the entire match not working on generators, healing friends, or making plays because you're trying to set up the meme dream. For what? To save yourself a hook state maybe?
Conviction works best in a very VERY niche consideration. Being slugged during the end game, being slugged by a 99% generator, being slugged near a hooked survivor, being slugged by a survivor that's being picked up while you have a flashlight/they are under a pallet, being slugged near a survivor being chased that simply cannot go down so you revive to take the hit.
These are the places Conviction shines. They are EXTREMELY rare and VERY specific - which makes the perk generally worthless.
But all these YouTuber videos showing off how "crazy" the perk is when they have an entire build (and a squad of friends) devoted to MAKING it work? It's not worthwhile.

In addition, to all my friends and fellow fog enjoyers here.
How many times do we see Exponential in matches? Better yet, when Survivors DO bring Exponential, how many matches do we see them turning games around and getting value out of it? Next to never? That's about right.
If survivors want to bring one of the least loved and pervasively underutilized tools in the entire game out of the attic to meme in a certain "Conviction meme zone" then that's fine on them. As a killer I'd be more than happy to see survivors band together to try out crazy and ingenuitive builds that don't help them complete objectives faster and often waste more of their time trying to pull off silly memes rather than actually play the game.

It's just a bad perk that can clutch a very, very rare and specific circusmstance - and content creators have artificially hyped it into seeming more viable and interesting than it ever really could be.

Make it more viable for anti slug and less viable for bully duos who abuse animations lock and times killer absolutely didn’t slug

It just feels like a perk that would be nerfed out of fear and not actual results. It only really works in scenarios that would otherwise trigger the Abandon feature or give an endgame escape, which are both healthy for the game in my opinion.
