Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Devs, should we report people about the streetwise bug?

I keep reading conflicting stuff so I just want to clarify: People running streetwise and actively exploiting the bug, should we report them in game for that or is that not bannable?

This post is not to attack or flame any of the devs for whatever decisions are being made. I’m just asking whether or not I should report this or not so we don’t false report people for stuff that’s not actionable.

There was already a statement by someone from BHVR that they won’t ban people for abusing bugged perks, so I would not bother reporting people for it . But, man, with how inconsistent they have been lately with so many things, who knows I guess….

The Streetwise Tech® coined by yours truly is officially fair play just like the Kidnap Tech® coined by the legendary Hens333. Personally I don't need either as the greatest survivor main of all time, but I can't control what the other survivors choose to do with my brand new invention.

You could report it. The problem arises when it's difficult to establish if a) the exploit was purposefully done, or b) if the player even knew in the first place.

There are perhaps many players out there who don't watch YouTube and are not aware of the issue, so they bring the perk in because they wish to learn how it works. Maybe then they find out in-game, or perhaps not at all. It would be hard for those people if they were to be reported for bringing in a perk.

Because of this, reporting is a grey area. Unless you see somebody continuously dropping and retrieving an item in a chest and record it, it's likely too ambiguous. In reality, the devs should take a serious look at their criteria for killswitching and be proactive.
