Complete 3 Rift Quests question

Just wanted clarification - the 'Complete 3 Rift Quests' quests don't count towards the overall completed quest count do they? I've completed 9 quests of the current 10 for the Rift, but it only shows as completed 7.

Hope my question makes sense because I've written 'quest' way too many times and started to confuse myself. Thanks!

So I went to have a look myself, and it looks like you're right.

Ten quests completed, yet the counter shows 8 as done. However, the math does check out: 11 weeks x 4 quests per week = 44, which is needed for the last reward.

Though I am confident that something was changed from last time (just like they changed daily quests and milestone quests).

In the screenshot below, you can see I had already completed all Rift Pass Completion Quests with 2 weeks to spare. The final reward was unlocked at completing 48 Quests (it went up by increments of 12: 12, 24, 36, 48). With only 4 quests counting per week, that should not have been possible. Which means that all five counted.

That definitely is no longer the case this time around.

Now you have to complete all quests every week to get the last reward. Maybe you can skip on two or three if the RIft Pass Completion Quests count for their own total, but that seems unlikely in the current state.

No, they don't count nor were they supposed to last rift either.

This was actually a "bug" where those quests were counting but somewhere towards the end of last rift, they fixed it so they don't count anymore. This actually caused some extra bug reports since it broke people's counters for those who didn't have the last reward yet. They did last second lower the requirement to 33(?) so people only had to play one game to get it.

For this rift, they fixed it properly and they don't count for progress. They intend for you do complete every quest in order to get the final reward.

For the record, this is silly and 3 quests a week absolutely should count since it's very confusing. If they want people to do every quest then just make last reward requirement 55.

All five quests from a week should count towards the total, including the 'Complete 3 quests this week' one. The same goes for the 'Complete x Rift Pass Quests' you see at the top, the ones that show a badge and banner reward next to them: these too count towards their own total.

Could you perhaps share some screenshots of all the quests you completed? Maybe that can help us identify what's going on.

Thanks for checking! Yeah my assumption was that because the 'Complete 3 quests' was the only one that awarded shards and not bp, that perhaps it was just a bonus add on quest now. They did make Milestones adjustments, so this might just be another change. Or possibly an error.

Just in case it is an error, ill add my screenshots as well. Says 7 completed but done 9. Logged in to do the gen quest and noticed the discrepancy.

The quest system has have problems of counting done quests from its release. I don't know why but it sometimes does not count a quest done on those milestone quests or other quests that count completion of other quests. It most likely is something like you do the quest but the server side that keeps track of it never gets the completion confirmation so it does not count it. They really need to make it check how many quests is done time to time or put a refresh button on the quest or the quest section because currently it can cause these kind of situations. Still if these will cause you to not get the rewards you can always open customer support ticket and they will fix it for your account.

Just to note that the completion quests also do count for the completion quests. So when you get that "Complete 11 Rift Pass Quest(s)" done it should count for the other three as one quest done.

    Yeah, 55 sounds better.

But still, if ALL the previous tomes didn't require you to complete all the challenges, why they changed that?

If I had to guess, probably something to do with player retention and engagement.

What makes it worse is I don't think you can get the rewards after the rift is gone. At least with the tomes you could always go back to get them. :/

Thanks for the reply! I do remember there were some issues for players last time around but I honestly didnt pay attention to the cause so missed that info. It's definitely a shame they don't count, I think they need to reconsider this.

    Thanks!

That explains also why the math in the current Rift checks out. If each week only gives 4 quests that count, then reaching 44 for the final reward is possible. Players just have to complete all quests.
