Making Trapper more of a threat.
So I have an idea for a simple Trapper buff that might make him more of a threat. Stepping into a bear trap applies three status effects. Two current effects and a new one. I'm calling the new one Maimed. While suffering from Maimed a survivor is slowed (5% more or less depending on balancing).
Buff: Whenever a survivor steps into a bear trap they're inflicted with the Hemorrhage and Mangled status effects until fully healed.
Buff: Survivors who step into a bear trap suffer from the Maimed status effect until fully healed.
I think this could help slow the game for Trapper and make his traps alot more threatening.

I’m not sure what your Maimed effect does that Hindered doesn’t already do, but other than that I’ve had this idea for a good while as well.

It does compensate for his lack of mobility and gives him an edge in chase. A decent idea.

Hindered is generally on a timer (with the exception of fully infected by Wesker) this wouldn't have a timer. I suppose a better way of wording it might be to make it a single status effect that rolls Hindered, Hemorrhage, and Mangled into one status effect.

Obviously it would need testing to get the balance right and it's hardly the only change he needs but I think it would be easy to implement.

But goes it away after one hook? Right now it only sounds like a good tunneling tool.

Kind of seems like the wrong way to buff him.
Trapper's traps are already extremely strong if survivors step on them. The issue is that as survivors climb in skill the chance of a trap getting stepped on goes down drastically. This feels like it would just boost him against new players, which is where he doesn't need a boost.

As a Trapper enjoyer I think the real buff he needs is to already start with all traps held as basekit

That would be really nice, but currently most players use the addon to just lock down the basement or similar rooms.

Lets just throw the traps and turn trapper into a ranged killer instead :)

I think it would he cool if trapper is given more than just bear traps, imagine if he had also had a net trap that could entangle survivors and the survivors would have to do the Skull Merchant drone minigame to get out.

There should be trapper rwork in 2026 but what it will be and which month in 2026 thats mystery.

Give him all traps held at start and a trap placing mode like knights summoning or similar that gives no sound sight, or other info other then map to place traps
