Knight on small maps..
I don't often play survivor, but recently I've been playing solo queue. I noticed on the smaller maps, it's really quite difficult to get anything done. Is there any counter to the madness?

Depending on the map. Windows are your best bet and dont forget the banner after the horn sound!

He can be annoying on smaller maps but same goes for high mobility killers which can control their mobility like billy, blight, dracula, ghoul, wraith, spirit or even wesker (he got some mobility but nothing crazy like others I mentioned before him), killers like xeno, onryo, springtrap, dreadge have great mobility across the map but they lack the option to choose where exactly they will go on map and it wont cower all places where killer needs to go. Knight isnt that strong and killers I mentioned before with higher mobility are way stronger some of them are strongest killers in the game so argument like knight can chase and preasure two survivors at thje same time isnt that good because even these high mobility killers can only preasure just one they can do it better and switch targets and places way faster on smaller maps.

Knight on smaller maps is like a game of chess really. Had one on Sanctum of Wrath a couple days ago, and it was a constant back and forth to break the 3-gen, but eventually we got it done. @cogsturning was with me that round.

I feel I usually do okay with Knight unless they're super, duper good. As Hyena said above, it can be a long run. Pay attention to when the guards are hounding someone, and if he's following them too. Those are your windows. Spread your gens smartly, and work on more than one for the last three. An if you have even the tiniest suscpiocn he's using his power try to leave the area.

Knight is not a powerful enough killer at this point to complain about him having map presence at all. The guards are not infallible, his addons are limited if he expects the guards to adequately pressure a survivor, and outside of periodic power-use-based haste that admits he lost distance even using his power, he is a generic mouse one killer.

I really wish maps would scale to certain killers. I feel smaller maps for m1s and larger maps for m2s would solve a lot of problems and frustrations in the game.

That is actually a brilliant idea. Dynamic map sizing, and tile generation based on relative killer mobility

They actually patched that tech. Crazy work

They didnt tho stop spreading missinformation

It truth but same goes for any killer with strong mobility that the killer can control like billy, blight, wraith, ghoul these killers make the map even smaller than knight can.

Thanks, yeah I feel personally that all killers are viable (except current SM bless her) but its the RNG that can really make or break many killers (and some survivor perks). But we have like…22 maps? I feel there's enough variety that it wouldn't hurt the enjoyment of the game overall. Let maps do the scaling instead of the killers, and also certain maps can automatically put killers at a disadvantage, which also shouldn't be the case. Maps with open fields shouldn't ever be forced on Myers or a Ghostface. Maps with awful spawn points shouldn't be forced on Onryo or Pig. Maps with good locker placements should be prioritized for Huntress and Dredge. Etc. I could go on but frankly while Killers and Survivors both have access to some bonkers stuff, MAPS are the most unbalanced part of the game lol. They can aritifically boost you to an advantage or a disadvantage without any input from the individual player regardless of the role and I feel that's kind of crazy lol.

I just played against Knight yesterday and can confirm that the window effects do play, but do not slow the guard down. So yes, the tech has in fact been patched.

hold W and hug windows or pallets to make the guard target that location for a moment giving you extra distance

Did you see my post where I rated the maps on balance?
I have played like well over 500 matches since the anniversary event, and I can definitely say that maps has a huge impact for certain killers, and survivors alike.1 -
It was a bug with the guard's horrible AI pathing. People quickly learned that they go the exact place you were previously, so if you ran at a window, they'd run to it too and get caught and slown cus the game thinks they are trying to phase through the vault location.

Wow, what a great post. Thanks for taking the time to write all this out along with reasonings for what’s too strong/not strong enough etc. I hope the post gets a devs attention!
