Almo appreciation post.
Some of you may remember that a former dbd balance dev (Almo) has left the company this January and with the knowledge of the next patch I can confidently say that ever since he left the game gone down hill.
It´s been a revert after a revert this year, first it was xenomorph, than artist´s addons, than after that the knight nerfs and now, from the looks of it, the clown changes. I fear that this issue will only worsen in the coming future and that so much more time will be lost on reverting changes that no one asked for.
Almo was often considered to be "the worst dbd dev" by the community, mostly because he was terrible at the game while being apart of the dbd balance team. While that may be true at least he played the game. I genuinely don´t think any of the current devs play the game, be it survivor or killer and just go off of statistics and charts. Which is why I think most of the senior balancing devs (like Almo and Mclean) had more insight into an average dbd match.
I started playing in January 2023 and Imo the upcoming balance changes and most tweaks done this year (in comparison to the 2 years) have been bad, just plain bad. In a reddit post Almo talks about why tunneling and camping are a necessary evil for dbd´s success and longevity. While at the time I thought he was overexaggerating, looking at the competitive side of dbd made me realise that he is indeed correct and that the next update might actually ruin dbd as a whole.

He nails what I've been trying to tell people for two days better than I ever could. This was a really good read. DBD is pretty much trying to "fix" what made DBD successful, and it's going to get really ugly really fast.
