The Killer: The Vessel, Thomas Coleman

The Survivors: Eleri Coleman

Name: The Vessel
Real Name: Thomas Coleman
Age: 24
Terror Radius: 40m
Weapon: Clawed Arm
Size: Tall
Speed: 4.7mps
Appearance: The Vessel is huge and inhuman, his body covered in glowing red runes and his body completely black. His right arm is disproportionately larger than the rest of his body, which he uses to rip and tear through Survivors. His face is black and is horned. Their mouth is like that of a predator, toothy and sharp.

Backstory:
Thomas Coleman was born to a single mother after an accident that took the life of their father. In their early life, his mother, Eleanor Coleman, tried to provide for them as well as she could. Though Thomas valued their mother's work, he was upset she couldn't spend much time with her. One day, after seeing her collapsed on the sofa after a long day of work, he vowed to one day make sure his mother would never have to labour like this again.

Thomas studied continuously, becoming an A* student in most subjects, and being heralded as a genius prodigy. Though on the outside he seemed perfect, really all he wanted was a proud, happy mother. However, he developed a burning passion for ancient mythos and its unyielding mystery. Eventually, he got a scholarship to a university to study Mythology. When he told his mother, she was overjoyed and encouraged him to do it. He packed his bags and waved goodbye to the town he grew up in.

In University, he learnt of many legends, myths and other mysteries. Many intrigued him, but none more than the legend of The Entity. Theorised by many as a dark god that materialised as a black Fog, many who've gone searching for it have vanished without a trace. There was even an account of a woman vanishing on stage in this Fog. This piqued the interest of Thomas. He believed this one, unlike others. He didn't believe the stories of spirits and ghouls, cursed dolls and runes, but something about this story felt real. Too real.

He was told to do his final essay on a myth of his choice, exploring aspects that could lead it to be true. Thomas wrote his about The Entity, and he submitted it with complete confidence. The mark was the best the class had ever seen, and he graduated with full honours. He felt his heart beat faster and faster, his life had finally peaked. He'd be able to help his mother, and she could stop working. However, his work had attracted the wrong sort of attention. The Black Vale, a cult that worshipped The Entity, desperate to protect the sanctity of their God, had decided that Thomas knew too much.

When Thomas arrived home, his house was ablaze, his tormenters nowhere to be found. He rushed inside rapidly to find his mother on the floor, wounded and beaten. It was clear that she would die soon. Thomas rushed to her side as the house fell down in embers around the two. As if his heart was a beating drum, he cried a symphony of pain and despair. He felt her body weaken, and he knew his mother had little time left.

However, a black Fog surrounded the two. As Thomas, his face streaked with tears and pain, stared into the Fog, he begged. Take his soul. Take his sorrow. Take whatever it wanted from him. Just save his mother. And so, The Entity responded. And Thomas was no more.

All that remained was a vessel of The Entity's design. A tool of torment. A beast forged in fog. A beast set on a doomed course, only to find destruction and despair. A vessel of fading humanity.

Name: The Vessel
Terror Radius: 40m
Weapon: Mayhem Claw
Size: Tall
Speed: 4.7mps
Power: Vessel Of Mayhem

The Vessel has access to two abilities, Force Of Madness and Entity's Claw, interchangeable similar to Freddy's Dream Snares/Pallets, as well as access to Corrupted, a new effect.

Corrupted: When a Survivor is afflicted by Corrupted, they are surrounded with a black and red energy. Generators they work on become Corrupted. Corrupted causes Survivors to become Hindered for 5% every 5s. Generators afflicted by Corrupted regress when not being worked on. To dispel Corrupted, you have to either enter the Dying state or unhook a fellow Survivor.

Force of Madness: By holding M2 for 5s, The Vessel enters a running start, before roaring in fury, dashing forwards in a beast-like rush that leaves a trail behind him for 6s. If The Vessel hits a Downed Pallet or Vault Location, they leap over it and continue forwards. If it hits a Survivor, they immediately lose a heath state and gain the Corrupted status effect. If a Survivor walks through the trail, they gain Corrupted.

Entity's Claw: By holding M2, you can see the auras of those afflicted with Corrupted. You can also see all Generators afflicted with Corrupted in yellow.

When you down a Survivor with Force of Madness, your next Force of Madness will instantly down the next Survivor it hits.

Name: Eleanor Coleman
Age: 40
Gender: Female

Backstory:

Eleanor Coleman was born to an abusive father and a mother who didn't care whether she lived or died. At a young age, she was beaten into obedience. Forced into doing the housework, cleaning and other things. One slip up and it was another beating. She dreamt of a life outside of the clutches of her abusive father and mother. She didn't do well in school. The pain of open wounds from her father and constant worry tormented her to the point that she couldn't focus. She barely passed her classes. She was beaten more every time she got a bad grade, like some sick and twisted spiral. One day, after another nightly beating, she walked to a bridge near her house.

She stared down at the black waters rushing, and she sighed. Her dreams of being something all gone. That was when she met Tommy Coleman, a volunteer at a local homeless shelter. He was 16, she was 15. He shouted for her to stay away from the edge or she'd fall. That was the most considerate thing anyone had ever said to Eleanor. In that moment, her future felt possible. She confided in this kind boy she'd never met before. Told her about her abusive parents, and how she planned to end it all drowning in this river.

After a bit of talking, Tommy and Eleanor exchanged numbers and devised a plan. Eleanor would run away with Tommy to a new town on the coast to escape her father. When that night came, they got in Tommy's beat up van and left.

A year later, Eleanor was pregnant with a baby boy. Tommy promised he'd stay to look after the baby. The two would buy a small house to live in. Barely scraping by, the two knew it would be worth it when they could raise their son together. But fate had other plans. Tommy died in a car crash on a foggy night. Eleanor was left all alone to raise their son. She named him Thomas after his father, and she raised him as best she could, working numerous jobs to keep paying rent.

When her son got a scholarship to a prestigious university to study mythology, she was more proud than she'd ever been. She sent him the money that she could spare to fuel his education. But one day, a cult known as the Black Vale came looking for him. She tried to fight back against them, but they overpowered her and left her dying on the floor. She blacked out, the last thing she saw was the faint outline of her son's tearful face and a dark Fog.
