Killers Crying about changes once AGAIN!
it honestly never fails, its always a killers word over survivors - we have been begging for changes like Tunneling and Slugging to come to the game for YEARS and i already know they are going to change it again just to make it useless. The only thing they need to change as far as the Tunneling feature goes is this section:
Tunneling Penalties
- When a Survivor dies to a hook action or Mori before 6 total hook states, the remaining Survivors gain a
25%repair speed bonus. - When a Survivor that was previously hooked is Killed or Sacrificed, the Killer loses the ability to block, damage, or regress generators by any means.
everything else as far as the HUD should honestly stay the same. its already hard enough for solo q survivors to try to manage a 1v3 esp against stronger killers, stop trying to make the game easier for killers to win and make it fair to where it is BALANCED for all players.
Also, as far as the slugging goes killers can still slug everyone and then end up hooking EVERYONE before the 90 seconds are even up. Its honestly rare for some killers to leave anyone down for that long knowing these changes are coming in effect.
They are so quick to make changes and respond once killers speak up just like when they nerfed the fog vials, they really need to take this time to really sit and think about what changes really need to be made esp from a survivors perspective.

Survivor crying they couldn't abuse a totally broken system
-11 -
or is killers crying that they cannot slug and tunnel how they been wanting to for YEARS. This is an ongoing issue and it happens to so many survivors and we are tired of it - if you cannot win the game normally without slugging and tunneling then you dont need to be playing as a killer if you cant play the game fairly.
4 -
Us vs them doesn't make the game better. Play both sides, and learn what other players are experiencing.
-5 -
Or tunneling and slugging is fair and your using your made up survivor rulebook to think it's not. Tunneling and slugging will always exist and there's no amount of crying you can do to get rid of it.
-15 -
You do realize the community as a whole and content creators that spend time playing survivors and been playing them for so many years have stated that the current values are not ready for live servers yet.
If this hit live servers it would be chaotic.
Let them polish it, the changes will be negligible for lower end players either way they will still feel like they wont be tunneled out and the polished changes will feel much more impact for better at higher mmr

I would have thought YOU of all people who makes a ton of posts were unbiased.
The MAJORITY of survivors won't abuse a system like this, and in reality, it is the killer side who has been crying about a system that would not let them have easy 4K's anymore. - As has been the case ever since the finisher mori got introduced.
I even went through like 20 PTB matches during these days, on both sides testing the changes, and it gave survivors in a 3v1 scenario a much better chance. It was mostly 1-2 outs despite the increased gen speed. So no, it was not insanely broken.
Yes, the permanent gen block is stupid, but the speed increase is enough to offset an early tunnel out. And yes, it was before 6 hook-stages, because of staggered tunneling (juggling two survivors).6 -

in what way is it fair exactly? your def showing your true killer colors - its players like you who dont know how to win against stronger survivors so you have to resort to tunneling and slugging, maybe put more pressure into the way you play killer and maybe you can win a game or two?
3 -
I try to see both sides but these changes were simply not good and harmed low tier killers to much like Sadako. These changes should not go live at all and that's my stance
-3 -
did you not read the end of the post where i clearly said they should take this time to really SIT and think about these changes??
2 -
careful, dont tempt them lol
-5 -
This coming from someone name meg survivor? Same goes to you maybe if you put in more effort maybe you wouldn't fail at averting being tunneled then maybe you can get an escape or two
-9 -
I think OP is arguing that they could have nerfed the numbers and shipped it in the upcoming patch with those number changes
I disagree, I think more testing is required, but I don't think "ship it exactly as is" and "take an extra 1.5 months minimum to rework it" are necessarily the only options
2 -
And they did clearly seeing how ridiculous and abusable there new system can be and are going to remove such bad things like those terrible penalties
-4 -
survivors have plenty of tools in the game already to avert tunneling and slugging. If you really are being tunneled/slugged EVERY SINGLE MATCH, and it’s not just negativity bias, use the tools you’ve already been given and hope their next roll out is an actual fix for the problem and not a blatant attack on killers in general.
-10 -
Enough with the “us vs them” garbage. It may surprise you to learn that a lot of people actually play both sides and aren’t solely “killer main” or “survivor main” players. A lot of these people who play both sides are voicing legitimate concerns about the changes - or the “crying”, as you insultingly call it.
-10 -
if they really wanted an anti-tunnel idea, i say give killers basekit BBQ stacks. back when BBQ give you a token for each unique survivor hooked up to 4, each token gave 25% increases BP gains for all categories, that was always the first task on my list. after i got the 4 tokens thats when i'd start playing the match for real so even if all 4 escaped, i'd still have a big BP payout so getting no kills wasnt as hard to deal with. maybe even repeat that for then the killer can get 8 tokens, and finally 12 tokens if they kept doing that for each hook stage.
just an idea

This account is from 2020 - Forum will not allow a name change for me but why am i explaining myself to you?? , Im a Lara main but please continue on……survivors dont have to play a CERTAIN way in order to be tunneled, killers tunnel for whatever reason they want to so this comment should of stayed in your drafts.
4 -
Oh so killers have to be forced to play a certain way? Your whole thread should have stayed in your head
-12 -
Why bother?? The killer queues are constantly 15 minutes for months. That should speak for itself.
6 -
we shouldnt have to bring "TOOLS" just for killers to stop tunneling and slugging, they should of already stopped doing that. Plain and Simple if you cannot get any kills either take your L and move on with the game or keep practicing playing killer until you can get good enough to at least get a 3-4k WITHOUT resorting to tunneling and slugging.
3 -
Did you actually try playing killer with these changes? If not, maybe you should before drawing a conclusion that they are totally fine and not overly punishing.
-8 -
Yeah actually. I did. And they were fine. Never once tunneled in any games on the PTB and still came away with quite a few 3 and 4ks. Just because you can't play the game without tunneling doesn't mean others can't and wont. Survivors deserve to enjoy the game too, they are 80% of the playerbase, or do you want every survivor player to leave so BHVR is forced to put bots into public matches just so your queue times don't hit 3 hours?
5 -
I am a P100 Pig Main and a P66 Jill Valentine Main (with many other survivors at 10 or more. I have actually spent more BP on Survivor side than I have Killer side, despite having a P100 Pig) and so I do play both sides, usually Killer when I am solo and survivor with friends. When I am playing survivor, if someone in our matches is being tunneled out, it's usually me. So I definitely think that they need to address when hard tunneling is happening, but at the same time I understand that taking advantage of my mistakes is NOT tunneling me. I don't know how, I am not a developer, but any anti-tunnel system needs to address when survivors are actually being tunneled, but not punish the killer for merely taking advantage of a survivor's mistakes, and as a Pig main I say that I should absolutely NOT be punished if a survivor gets off hook right before their trap timer expires, nor if they just fail to get it off early in the match. Especially with how Pigs traps are currently bugged anyway, there is zero excuse for not getting your trap off.

Didn't take long for smug killers to start doing their victory lap, did it? Enjoy your queue times there buddy.

Im fine with the hud and unhook protection, but the punishments for tunneling needed to be changed

I think Survivors should receive a -25% Gen penalty if they complete 2 Gens before the Killer gets 6 Hooks. Also, if you're too good at Looping, and evade the Killer for too long, the entire team is Broken for the rest of the trial. If the goal is to punish players for completing objectives too fast or too well, then let's punish everyone.
Also, true story, 90% of the Streamers I watched play PTB and abide by the new rules, literally 12 hooking everyone…in the endgame chat, survivors were still complaining about being "tunneled". Bottom line, losing always sucks, and no matter what rules you implement, people are going to complain.
Game has been around for 10 years (soon). Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Evil Dead, VHS, Friday the 13th, none of them can say the same. They're all dead. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. The wheel works. People just complain because the ride gets bumpy.

Also, if you're too good at Looping, and evade the Killer for too long, the entire team is Broken for the rest of the trial. How about if the survivor is too good at looping we give every killer a basekit buff to get faster over the chase and block windows when they are vaulted too many times?
I think Survivors should receive a -25% Gen penalty if they complete 2 Gens before the Killer gets 6 Hooks.Give survivors buffs for spreading out the gens then we have a more accurate comparison.

The 30s endurance & bodyblocking needs to go too, not just the above changes.
-2 -
Where do you play? Outside of 2v8, my killer queue times during peak evening hours have been nearly instant and always far shorter than survivor queues during that time. I play US eastern time zone. If you’re referring to non-peak hours like morning/early afternoon, killer queue times have always been long during that period because far fewer people are playing survivor with their friends.

Its very hard to balance dbd without micro balancing (making changes based on MMR.) For the most part though, the entire purpose of these changes is to make tunneling impossible by any means, and also making it so you don't really have to help unhooked teammates. I've said this alot now and many others feel the same, but thats simply just catering to bad survivor players. Survivor is in a pretty good position as of lately.
-5 -
This just solidifies that people didn't understand or actually test these changes before "giving feedback".
Because the devs already specifically stated that it has to be hooking events, and "last hooked survivor" remaining on hook already didn't count if the killer didn't actively put them on death hook.
The whole point of this entire mechanic is to prevent a hopeless 3v1 scenario, and you have to invent a fantasy where survivors are now forcing a 3v1 somehow? It's still a massive downside to be down a teammate. No one is realistically going to play like that and still win.
