PERSONAL STATS BONUS for each survivor

Hi, I think I’d be cool if each survivor could have an unique bonus/stat in the game. Beside each one unique perks. This would give each survivor more character.
For example:
Claudette:+extra 5% speed heal
Jake: +extra 5% sabotage speed
Dwight: +extra 5% repair speed
...
...
And so on. What you people think?

Comments

  • I think maybe we should fill this out a bit more.
perhaps Laurie gets +10 chance to be the obsession regardless of perk choices (but no obsession is made with no perks), Ace should get a luck bonus (obviously). Dwight should instead get a bonus to Cooperative Action and Feng Min would be better suited to repair speed. Given the theme of Kate I figure she should get a slight boost to wiggling free and Bill should get a bonus to solo actions.

Wow you totally get it. That would make people want to play a certain carácter for other reason rather than looks.

  • David King can get a boost to actions while injured. But this still leaves Tapp, Quentin, Adam, Nea, and Jeff.
  • How about this, Nea gets a slight boost to crouch movement speed (not stacking with urban evasion) and Meg enjoys slightly increased exhaustion cooldown rate.

Kinda curious if you want your fellow survivors contacting you to demand you switch characters because they want your bonuses in play, or not.

This idea has been proposed many times. Personally, I'm all for it. Even if changes are minuscule it would still be pretty neat to be able to pick a character that complements your playstyle. However, there are people who think that not only will it break the flimsy balance in this game, it will also result in "meta" characters who will be the only ones picked, and if you don't pick those characters you will be flamed/sandbagged/etc.

  • Well I’ve never been accused of being trash by survivors for not running meta perks so I figure it’s probably not going to start just because of a character pick.

Well, they can't presently tell what you're running until after the game.
With your idea they can tell before the game starts.

Even if they can tell what your bonus are. These changes for survivors should be small. I don’t think it will change the results of a match but make it more interesting.

The Devs should be in charge to decide what status bonus to give to each survivor. I hope they can listen to this idea and talk about it in the stream.

  • I doubt this will be implemented in the slightest, but it’s fun to think about.
  • Another thing to point out is that it also gives the killer some more choices in the lobby. Lobby of Dwight’s, should probably bring Discordance. Lobby of Meg’s, you should bring something to cause exhaustion or a speed boost. Lobby of Kate’s, Iron Grasp and so on. But the survivors could then run perks that are largely incompatible with the character creating more mind games even in the lobby.

This would kill the last bit of character diversity we still have.

Claudette and Meg are already overused because of Sprint Burst and Self-Care. Their pick-percentages are considerably ahead of those of other characters. Passive stuff like that would only worsen the problem.

Say what you will @DocOctober , I'll still run my fabulous Dwight, Ace, or David King.

My only question is, how does giving stat changes change what people already use? 90% already use Claudette or Meg. I myself was never one for the Meta. I only really use Self Care but I don't use much else. I mostly run Dwight Perks anyways.

Of course, I can foresee dms from fellow survivors for not running a certain character but I'll just ignore.

And thus survivors shall gain their own versions of nurse and Billy; forever at the top of the pick list.

    How about this?

Dwight: Cooperative actions are increased by 5%. (Doesn't stack with PT)

Meg: Exhaustion can be recovered while running, receive a 5% increased recovery speed to Exhaustion OR Your running speed while not in a chase is increased by 5%. (Doesn't stack with Vigil)

Claudette: Healing speed and efficiency are increased by 5%. (Doesn't stack with BK or SC)

Jake: Sabotage speeds are increased by 5%.

Nea: The stagger from falls are reduced by 5% OR Efficiency of items are increased by 5%.

Ace: Your luck is increased by 5%.

Feng: Repair speeds are increased by 5%. (Doesn't stack with faster repair perks/items)

Laurie: Increases the chance of becoming the Obsession by 5%.

Bill: Solo actions are increased by 5%. When you are the last survivor remaining, all action speeds are increased by 5%.

David: Increases action speeds by 5% while injured. (Doesn't stack with Resilience)

Quentin: Open gates 5% faster OR Wake Up action speeds are increased by 5%. (Doesn't stack with Wake Up!)

Tapp: Your recovery speed is increased by 5% OR The speed at breaking totems or disarming traps is increased by 5%, increases the speed of removing a Reverse Beartrap is increased by 5%. (Does not stack)

Kate: Increases struggle effects on killers by 5% OR Increases struggling speed by 3% or 5%. (Doesn't stack with Boil Over)

Adam: Increases skill check success zones for any action by 5%.

Jeff: Increases chest search speeds by 5%. Increases chances of getting better items from chests by 5%. Does not stack with Plunderer's Instinct.

    No thank you.
We all know that metaslaves will be even more uniformed than they are, like 80% of Claudettes nowadays. Plus it will spike lobby dodging to an absurd degree as survivors would dodge based on their teammates picks just as much as Killers who don't want to play against 4 meta extremists, the few who do are usually meta Nurses and Billys themselves.

Call me pessimistic but that will stomp the games diversity till it looks like a ######### Nuremberg Rally.

    4 Dwights, 4 Prove Thyself, 4 X 5% character stat repair speed.
    No thanks.
I would like something to be unique about the survivors aside from being a reason to buy auric cells. Problem is finding a way to balance their abilities and how the ability would stack/balance with others.
I don't feel this is close to the top of the list for things DBD needs to fix right now.

I think if the personal stat bonuses only affect the survivor's personal play, it wouldn't make people demand you be a certain character. For instance, Dwight could have an extended view with bond and as someone else suggest, Kate could wiggle off a tiny bit faster (or just wiggle more). If it's small QoL things and not anything major like a buff to healing or repairing, I don't think it'd be that much of an issue.
