Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

FNAF was the biggest opportunity for Growth and BHVR fumbled it

In my opinion here is what went wrong:
- The year started strong with the promised QOL initiative however as we all know BHVR fumbled this and had to follow up with a health update for the health update. This is probably because they didn't actually allow themself any extra time for the extra work. Tokyo Ghoul was "delayed" by 3 weeks however i put this in quotation marks because they released the Orela PTB ONE WEEK after the release of tokyo ghoul. So they actually only allowed themself 1 extra week total, but orela PTB still came with many bugs anyway.
- Then came FNAF and in terms of quantity it did not live up to expectations. We practically got a chapter with a killer and half a map (re-used outdoors, pre-existing realm, no map offering).
- FNAF was also a reminder of the neglected new player experience. In fact it was made worse by the broken go next prevention system, punishing players for getting tunnelled/camped, something that should have been addressed before FNAF
- Bugs like messed up audio after interacting with camera, the game was certainly not improving on this front despite being in a QOL initiative.
- TWD released and is probably one the worst quality chapters released. 2 of the most requested licenses back to back underdelivered.

They need to get rid of their habit of making everything a crunch time and review the workflow of each department they have

This game is about anything rarher than playing PvP. Players with different intentions in match, perks as crutch, playing against “anti” or broken power rather than player itself, unclear stats, unclear RGN, unclear matchmaking, zero competency when PvP genre suppose this so called competency. This game is casual despite being overloaded with generic systems and stuff, which creates ridiculous tribalism. Playing as survivor is straightforward boring at all and hard on solo Q, if not meaningless

And all of this was created by them at first

Every big chapter release has had a big dropoff in player count in the few months afterwards. This has happened for the entire history of the game.

The avg players is still higher after FNAF. I'm not sure what kind of growth you are expecting.

Yeah i feel the expectations were way too high. The people who like games like DBD are mostly already playing it. IP will bring on some people, but a majority were never gonna stay.

It's September. All the kids that bought the FNAF chapter went back to school.

For real though. Ever since we lost yellow it's had a Domino Effect and BHVR has had one bad hit after another. Just goes to show you don't mess with yellow or you get cursed with bad juju.
